I bought a new SB card, audigy 2, and it seems to sound better now, or it atleast doesnt crash my PC. I will do some more testing, and disable the sound card and see what happens.

Im also usuing SB live card, but I dont think this is the problem. I think its something with how the software is written, or maybe we have to change our settings. But, im not THAT good at computers yet to figure out what to do, but i am good with them.

Yes, i got these same problems to, I wish Ikarus would make a patch to fix this, and also to fix the problem with the plane sinking into the ground when hovering to low.

Yea, mine locks up sometimes to, not from that plane, but just anyplane at random. It doesnt do it as often now, but..... im not sure why it does this. I think because the cable supplied for my TX, theres like only 4 pins and my TX has 5 holes, i think one is ground. So is that somehow messing up the radio connection and then freezes because it doesnt detect it?

are the settings you use like how the plane flies before modding it, or adding epa, expo? Otherwise it wont be the same as my real life one.

Well, I got a extra 300L in real life, and i set the same exp. and epa as what i use on it. It seems very similar, but i didnt enter my planes weight or thrust or anything, because i dont know it. I can hover better now on the sim then in real life.

Hey maarten, I got AFPD a few days ago or so, and ive been practicing hovering with the edge foamy, the blue one with checkerd paint, and Im getting better at holding it vertical, but i still cant get it quite right. How did you learn to hover? Just practice alot? I got to say, AFPD is VERY realistic in flying and also has already made my skills much better. Its well worth the investment in this software!

Ok, I just manually put the settings into the sim for the edge 3d foamy. Man... it flies like identical to my real life one...[X(] But... i suck realy bad at hovering. I can only do it for a few seconds, then it falls to the left or right or so its inverted. I really like the real life scenes and the gym one. Some planes seem really easy to fly, but maybe thats how they do fly? Any pointers on how learning to hover?

Radio EPA doesnt appear ingame?
Hi, i just got AFPD today, and its pretty cool. Its sorta a let down, but its got decent phyics. THe foamies seem to fly pretty realistic, but idk... Anywayz, does AFPD recognize my EPA and expo settings? Because otherwise the throws on those planes are way to much, and it swings all over the place. I dont know if its just me, but hovering is really really hard to do in AFPD. I think the landing is sorta...fakish... you can turn off the power and just glide around almost perfect and then land. I really like the gym scene and some others. Ive also got a prob with the sound echoing all the time? Matt

ok, thanks again Maarten! I know it wont be exactly same weather and whatnot, but as long as its pretty realistic. aaaaaw... soooo sore... went snowboarding for first time..... O yea, and i also attached some landing gear to my foamy :), i hope it works good. I attached the front 2 wires right under the CG point and then added a short bent wire for rudder wheel control. I hope that stuff doesnt effect the performance alot since i have a brushed motor.

Maarten, yea, i was thinking about that before. You cant see the ground in sims, so its alot harder. But... im worried about wind being realistic, and not that i can do a awsome trick in AFPD, but then in real life its windy or something and i crash trying to do it. I downloaded almost all the vids on the AFP site and cant stop watching them. The harrier hovering and then flying around at 100mph or so is so amazing!!!! It just shows how good this program actually is! I watched a vid. from Reflex of a plane doing 3d.. and it looks very bad. THe plane looks very fake, and it seems to be on a string almost or riding on a invisible track in the air..

hehehe, maybe :). Im not really good at it yet, but im learning. Im going to college for game design and developement in 5-6 months, so then i can actually learn how to do it right and efficiently. I will try to make a plane and see how hard it is to get into the sim and get the physics right, and if its not to hard, i will make your plane [:D]

Maarten, You are the reason that I bought AFPD also. Your videos are so amazing.... :O. THe physics and graphics are also very very real looking and i cant wait to get it! I started with a 3 channel Thawk and then very quickly got a 4 channel 3d foamy from fancy foam.com the extra 300. I got a brushed 350 GWS motor and D gearbox, but im not sure if this would hover well? I can hover with it ok, but idk if i got enough power? I got a GWS 11x4.7 prop on it, and a Etec 11.1v 3s Lipo i believe. Also, does AFPD actually teach you to fly better and learn new things and be able to do them ona real plane almost identically? Matt

Yes, mine also says shipping info, but is changed to a day later.... arg.. i was hoping to get it Monday since i could get it installed before i went to school, and then im not sure if my dads home, but if he is, now he will see it get delivered on tuesday and get mad. But, i guess i can just tell him i used christmas money to get it or something.

Hi, I jsut got home from work and saw that i got an email that my order is sent [:D] But.. says it wont be here till next Monday. Maybe it will get here earlier somehow, but im guessing not. Its nice since I get a 2 hour late start and dont leave till a little after 10, and the UPS guy comes at 9:30, but then i gotta work at 4-10 after school, so i like cant even use the program at all that day.

I ordered it on Sunday night, and I emailed them, and he said there next shipment should be in today hopefully, and that my copy might ship out today, and then they will email me a confirmation #. I hope they send it out today, so then I can hopefully get it by this Friday... I dont want to get it next year when im back to school.

Could I use 3ds max 6 to model a plane and export to AFP format or whatever it has to be? Or could i export to a format and import into that one prog. u said then export from that?
