Some Magnums time at 6 o'clock while other time at 5:30. Best way to check is overlap at TDC on the exhuast stroke.

Why are you concerned about smoke? You should concentrate on getting the needles set correctly.

You need to put a Dl 30 reed block on there. Are you running gas or meth?

RE: High Idle Speeds
There is a primary driver to the idle ability of the Bully (or any older engne) and the new engines being made. It is called weight.

RE: Super Tartan Twin 77
Not sure why you think you need a different prop hub? The DL 30 reed block is a nice upgrade. Tower Hobbies has it for $15. You will need to make an adapter plate out of flat aluminum. It is pretty straight forward. Lots of 77's came with a Walbro carb. Nice engines and pretty cheap for a twin. I picked up a singe at a swap meet for $20 bucks this past weekend! Keep in mind these engine run fine the way they are. There are lots of us who like to mess with things to make them better.

You don't need or want to use a gasket. You want to use High Temp RTV.

RE: Extra Parts
Cold shrinks, heat expands. Just use these principles to determine what needs to be coled and heated. To get a bearing on a shaft cool the shatf and heat the bearing (in most cases cooling the shaft will allow a bearing at room temp to slid on. If you are putitng the bearing in a case cool the bearing and heat the case. I usually put the bearing on the shaft that rides in it and use this to guide the bearing into the case.

RE: Extra Parts
The 320 wasn't mine. I rebuilt several fo these for a guy who owned a hobby shop. One of them was the engine C&H Ignitions took on their road show. Had the custom C&H motor mount with the ignition mounted in the mount.
