RE: KMP Corsair
Dan thats the one , if you continue to draw line A and line B , then have connect the top end of A with the bottom end of B and then the do the same to the other side , you will get a big X , the x when the line meet to form the X that is another way of checking the CG

Ty , I would start a separate post , some people who have this plane tune out after a while , the spinners are great and as far as I am concerned worth more then the money paid

RE: ARF and kit builders poll
"When a ARF Hits the ground they Shatter !! " I am sorry , but I tried to pass on this comment , I really did , I kept hitting myself in the head , saying no no leave , dont post , just go , no no ... But I had too , I thought the idea was to fly them ??? hitting the ground was not my idea for an arf or a scratch build or kit build , build any plane to withstand a crash and you broke the golden rule that I learned when I was just a tiny flegding -you always build to fly ,never build to crash [:D]

RE: Lado retracts would you ?
"Wow. Apparently I need to move our shop into making stuff for the R/C crowd because apparently the demand for good customer service is zero if 50% of people would still do business them" Yes I know what you mean !! Sierra , perhaps he was not that good at one time , but I can only speak from experience and I was shipped my Fw190 gear before he even received payment , yes its true . To me that is the trust that goes beyond normal and the quality is second to none . As stated in so many post , Lado would not ship nor approve any products into your little RC hands if they had to wait for payment , but when the tables are turned we are all bad guys if we simply want to be shipped as promised . If we got sick , if we had power failuers , if we lost our jobs , if we had work delays , dog ate my money , kids spit up on my Lado invoice ect ect , would the patience go both ways ? lol , I dont think so . I wont buy , and best yet I wont stress over them ever , I love all my air retracts and I have them down so pat that they retract in a scale manner , and problem free . All I stress about is important things like do I have beer with my pizza or soda , do I have chocolate cake , or ice cream these my friend are so much more important they simple little eletric retracts that scream every time you use them . My air retracts are way more "stealth " and that is more scale , all you hear is a slight hiss , the enemy planes do not know I am coming .[;)]

RE: KMP Corsair
Bob nice panel lines , how did you do them ? Lynn , the math needed for the 25% cg test is very very easy , there are ways to check it by I not smart enouth to show you in a digital drawing . Explaning it is simple - cord is the measurement from the front wing to back , max cord is term used for the front to back at the largest part of the wing . Typically most suggest taking this measurment at the wing connection to the fuse . so if you measure the wing and its 12" in front to back you take 25% of that number =3" as your starting point for CG . Now the "line method " and that is harder to explane but easy to do and draw -

gital a good little company
I needed a simple fix that was cheap , I did not want to buy a reversed servo , did not want to buy an expensive digital servo , and could not use a Y -with a reversed side /noise ampliflyer on a 2.4 system . A fellow Rc member suggested these guys , found a neat little fix -reverse connection ,no noise restrictor for $10.00 and even when it showed out of stock I was shipped in under 7 days . testing so far with no engine run and its great , next out to yard for a field test with engine on . The link is http://www.aeromicro.com/Catalog/dio...er_3975198.htm Great servace from a neat little company

RE: Rare Bear
Glynn , you did a great job , I did see the original model hanging in Hobbywarehouse in Richfield Minn , it was a beuty . My issue is the cost , now you can get the ESM version of the Bearcat for $299 , military scheme but very nice and much less money . The esm version is much bigger as well , I think its 74" span , its being sold by troybuild models and or VQ

RE: KMP Corsair
I also balance even to very slight nose down , never a problem and when I doubt I check the CG vs 25% of max cord as my starting point . I have never added weight to a corsair and wont do so with this plane , ifs its coming out tail heavy I moving all fuse servos forward and If I have to I will even move the wing servos forward . I dont know if your useing the really nice wheels that come with the retracts but they are way to heavy , when retracted your sending some major weight aft of the cg . WHile I love the looks of the wheels I dont be useing them . I bought all my servos for this plane today , prop nut , waiting for the interior kit ect and getting ready for the winter build . I adding a tail retract , panel lines , ect , going all out . OS max 200 4 stroke with turvo header muffler incowl Your guys have done some really nice work so its time for me to get moveing !!![:D]

RE: Air or electric for big bird retracts?
"B&D Enterprises retracts" typically old style , not seen at the field that often , budget deal and in my opinion retracts are a luxary , not defined by price but by feature . Why add something that is prown to fail as a luxary ? Go with the best in this order Sierra Shinden CJ Robart my opinon based on my own money that I have personally spent and based on satisfaction . I would rate CJ higher based on what I own , but i know that Lenny has better gear and I do own Sierra

RE: Topflight P-40E Warhawk Thoughts
I agree the P40 is one of the more difficult to fly , however some have discovered that it can be tamed by the experineced builder by changeing the wing washout . As far as next plane is your current T-28 eletric or fule powered ? That also makes a differance , I think fuel is a differant feel (just my opinion ) . When your ready to go to warbirds , try a Hanger 9 corsair or P47 , there newbe warbird friendly , gentle flyers !!!

RE: ARF and kit builders poll
I think the bar has been raised in arfs as well . It use to be if you were not into building your choice of larger warbirds was cmp or much more expensive a jump of $200 to $300 . Now that ESM is selling direct to the states , its pretty hard to beat a Dauntless with split flaps/air breaks , scale outline and great flat finish , all that is left is fun details , building an interior , sliding canopy ect all this for $299 . Unfortunitly , it would be difficult to build a plane this size for under $500 in kit form

RE: LA
Ok I was just in La, sorry to hear about the Dymond no longer in bus as far as retail , that was a fun shop . Gyro had a sign that said closed until 11/24 or something like that . They will be open on black Friday and having a sale according to the sign its Lake Forest Drive . The Hobby People -Main office off eculid is loaded with stock and you can negotiate some deals at times with a matching ad they run on mail order . Northern cal , I use to love Shedons when they were loaded with old cool kits like Pica ect , they sold a ton when moveing and there not impressive in my opinion . As far as the USA excluding Florida , the best two shops in the country in my humble opinion are 1)HobbyWarehouse in Richfield Minn and now the other one Big Sky hobbies in Minn , both shops are loaded , friendly and experienced with help . Skip Northern Cal and fly to Minn , work can wait [;)]

RE: E-Flight AT-6 Texan first warbird?
Drypipe , no dont misunderstand me 1)the new smaller P51 is probably a nice flyer THe newest P51 from Hp that is close to scale , that is the one that will not fly like a sport plane and is not suggested for beginners . WIng loading is in its simplest term -the weight of the plane dispersed over the wing area . The less weight more wing typicially is easier .Now all the experts will come out of the wood work but I am not going into airfoil type , high wing /low wing , short nose /long nose ect ect ect . Just keeping it simple the H9 sport type warbirds -P51 , Corsair , P47 that are 64" and under were designed under normal assembly when not over powered to be light "wing loaded " warbirds , with adequit overall weight to wing span . A simple example , the Hanger 9 discontinued P40 may come in at 9lbs thru 11lbs the Top Flight Kit build P40 , same demensions may come in at 11lbs thry 13 lbs -taking away the fact that the TF has scale positioned landing gear ect ect , the TF P40 is typically much harder to fly then the Hanger 9 p40 resembeling "glider like landing lol "[:D]

RE: ARF and kit builders poll
"Looks like kit building is in great shape! " and yes in my professional business our marketing department would come to the same conclusion . Then when you price out what the consumer is willing to spend you lose and lose big time . Surveys determine emotional responce not action or willingness to purchase . Real date comes from blind studys when the people being surveyed do not know what the projected or desired outcome that the marketing firm is actulally lookinng for known as the " Hawthorn effect " when those being survey give the projected desired responce . Pica , Skyshark , Top Flight ect are not virtually gone from choice but demand .

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
NIce job , you may want to sell those babies , that is nice exust system !!! Again not to be a party pooper , but make sure what appears to be a copper hold on ring is super snug so your not getting to hard points to vibrate if so simply insulate that with rubber , or loosen it , then fill the area with high temp engine gasket maker again I may be anal on this subject but all the gas guys tell me no -medal to medal contact in that area , regardless of 2.4 system or regular system

RE: E-Flight AT-6 Texan first warbird?
If you reach out to Corsiar Jock , he and many others have converted the H9 corsair to eletric . Very easy and very nice flyer . I dont want to talk you out of the texan and its certainly a nice size plane and very scale in its size . All I am saying is that for the money you can get bigger and easier to fly planes in the warbird category . The H9 original release warbirds (not the new scale P51) were designed very light and for sport flyers . SO much so that my confidence when flying the H9 corsair was signifigantly over inflated about flying warbirds in general [:D]. However when moveing on , you learn quickly that its 100% about wing loading . The H9 birds , Corsair , the P47 and the original P51 are cream puff to fly and convert to eletric . If you stay with the texan , I think the battery runs about $150 and above , look to Hobby King , they have some great deals on quality lipo batterys that will run 1/2 of that cost and work great . Remember , there are tons of post on this plane (At6 ) RC groups has a friedlier search tool (sorry rcu buts its 100% true ) go under eletric warbirds -hit in the name of the plane , you need to do the research or risk losing your plane . Trust me the time is worth it

RE: what is a bettery regulator and where to buy?
Alllan , Rich , thanks -this is the issue . When I started my Fw190 , I was simply going to use a regular radio . With the advent of the 2.4 systems and more clubs going to all 2.4 I decided it was time for this plane to change .Its my first gas engine and 2.4 . The build was semi/stand off scale , so the splip flaps on the Fw190 needed scale exit points . At the time it would have been easier (if known ) to buy a reversed servo . I moved along with the build not knowing that in the end I would eat up all my receiver function on my Dx7.Retracts , sliding canopy ec ect . So the added receiver slot for running one flap servo on its own and reversing just that servo was not an option . A Y harness has really worked for me with no problems at all on all my previous warbirds at 72" span and under . I mean flawlessly , never a concern . So moveing along with this build , I start to read the precautions of by the way many flyers claim its all urban legend , but as you see my MPI -its fact , its just a matter of voltage going to the system at any given time . So anyway , one simple solution is a $10.00 simple plug in servos reveror sold dionobacious (something like that ) Ihave two on the way . They are simple switched wire connections that plug in with zero noise /aplifier restrictions .That is one option at hand. My ultimate question is , I am not flying an electric plane , this is a fule G26EI (on a separate battery 2700 for engine ) and 1700 for servos /receiver . Do I need a simple regulator for the 1700 battery to keep power delivery equaly under differant loads ? Retracts and canopy are simple H81 servos to Robart air valves , very little load involved and there at best optimum non stress set up . My bigger load /stress servo will be (typical of warbird) rudder /elevator /airleron / that is it . Thanks for the advice , as my planes get bigger so does my stupidity and I worry about the safety of others first , plane second !!!! Thanks
