RE: Blade mQX quadrotor... no-one using it, or another area?
I have both the MQX and the HK Beetle. Same quads different companys. I have used the HK 808 keychain cams with no problems. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBSCHyJUzsY&feature=g-upl and the HK HD wingcam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34gCQby30Rg&feature=g-upl

RE: PBS NOVA program is looking for UAV hobbyist in DC area
Beginner quads can be bought for as little as $129.00 which will carry a HD keychain cam with no problem. The sky is the limit from there. I have a Gaui 550 quad which will carry my Canon Vixia video cam with no problem but I am now using the Horyzon HD cam which only weighs 38 grams and shoots 1080 @ 30 and 60 frames per sec. This increaces my battery time, The price of a quad depends on how much automation you want. A fly yourself quad with basic control board can be had for less than $400.00. Quads are a slight bit easier to fly than helicopters and a lot more stable. Quad flyers are mostly interested in shooting aerial videos or stills. RE: PBS NOVA program is looking for UAV hobbyist in DC area
John, Maybe I didn't say i it correctly. Being a photographer / videogrqapher I know what a DSLR camera is and know it can be easly carried by a medium sized quadrocopter of 550mm or larger. I am also saying that because of today's micro-technology there is no need to carry a camera that large and heavy. Check out the HD quality of the light weight GoPro which can record HD and be jury rigged to transmit the signal for FPV and the Horyzon HD at 32 grams which is already set uo to recdord in HD and transmit to a FPV ground stationj. RE: PBS NOVA program is looking for UAV hobbyist in DC area
John...just about any 550 or bigger quadrcopter will carry a DSLR cam with no problem. With the advances of micro technology cameras weighing as little as 30 grams can shoot HD video and send FPV signals.

RE: Hobby King Customer Service ?
I have had some limited support from HK but it was hard to get and there is a severe language barrier. I don't buy anything from HK that may have to be returned. Its best to pay a bit more and have the support from your local Hobby Shop.

I agree with Tinkman, stay away from the free stuff. I use Pinnacle Studio 12, its very good out of the box and has plenty of add on FXs.

RE: Blade SR UH-1 Huey Gunship - Any Reviews?
The worst I did was put a round through a chin bubble once, I did put a few holes in the foot pad on the tip of the left skid a few times. I saw a scale UH1B gunship on You Tube, it was a turbine with pilots, gunner and crew chief and open doors. I will send the URL if I can find it.. Below are some others. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CCV1dygPeE&list=LLwcIAjDtO5r0tVNdqGO-jUQ&index=5&feature=plpp_video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwwTb3yo2To

RE: Blade SR UH-1 Huey Gunship - Any Reviews?
That sounds very awkard and unneccessary and would restrict the gunners ability to cover a lot of area, Below are three pics of the Rebel guns setup.... What unit were you with?

RE: Need a RTF with good lifting capability
30MM Check out this video for Quad lifting. If you like the quad and are willing to build it yourself I think you could probably do it for 300.00 to 350.00, cheaper if you get your motors and ESCs from Hobby King http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeQDAsVVcB4&feature=related

RE: Need a RTF with good lifting capability
The quad can lift more and is definately more stable. The quad is also the best for video work.

RE: My New UAV Plataform...
You would be better off with a Ritewing Zephr, BD5, RQ 11, Easy Star or any other plane with a pusher prop. If your main interest is in quality photography or video, a quadrocopter would be best.

RE: A clever way to store your airplanes!
I use PVC, very cheap and easy to work with. The PVC rack holds seven planes, I will be building a second rack to hold two more planes, a heliocopter and two quadrocopters.

RE: Looking for a good Heli for boyfriend
First off, your boyfriend is very lucky to have a girlfriend who is willing to spend a thousand bucks on him for a helicopter. Do you have a much older sister? :>)...,Second, if photography and video is his main interest I would look into a quadrocopter. The quads are easwier to fly than a helio ( not as easy as planes) You can get one from about $350.00 if you already have a transmitter. This is the one I started with: http://www.hobbywireless.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=38&products_id=455 . Here are some videos shot with the Quad: http://vimeo.com/album/1673229
