RE: King Hauler
I know this is an old thread but I was hoping to pick some brains[:D] I have the King Hauler, really like it[8D] One thing bugs me a lot about it though and I wondered if anyone knew of a fix. The steering lock is quite poor, and can make backing the trailer into tight spots more difficult. It also spoils the effect IMO as trucks have far better steering locks than most cars in the real world. Does anyone know of a servo that has greated travel than the normal type of servo you can pick up? Here is my KH [link=http://www.rckingdom.co.uk/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=44]MY Truck[/link]

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
[quote]ORIGINAL: trpastor Hey L.P. Love the intro music! :) So are all the videos on that site yours? As far as the car - have you driven others? How would you compare it to the OFNA 9.5 or Hyper 7? Are they in the same class? Also - where do you get your replacement parts from? Oh - one last question - taking jumps mine seems to nosedive. Is there anything I can do about that? I'm wondering if reving while in flight will keep the nose up more or if there's things I can do to balance it. So far - mine has been very good. I haven't had any problems breaking parts etc and it runs quick. I need to tune it but I'm having trouble feeling it out. When I hit full throttle at the take off it's wanting to die on me like it's too rich. I'm not sure if it's the LS or HS needle. Also - I don't know if I could have one lean and one rich and get this effect. Anyway - Mine's doing well. [/quote] Yeah they are all mine, it's my site. I have driven other buggies, and to be honest they have al been easier to drive. This buggy is very light and a little tail happy, but the stock engine could certainly power it [:D] One thing that annoys me alot though is that this buggy is always advertised as being able to do 80mph[>:] This is daft, 45mph tops so please alter the details Redcat Racing. It must put people off as it just doesn't hold up, and if they do beleive it, boy will they be upset when they find out it doesn't do 80mph!!! On the jumps, lift of the throttle just before take off. Then in mid flight blip the throttle. This worked 8/10 times for me. RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
I'd like to offer my help to anyone in the UK with this buggy. Known as the Speed Bazooka of the Kimax Rally X here. I raced at my club all season with a stock Kimax RallyX and only broke the steering servo. Other bits are now bent and need replacing, but it did last the season. You can now get these for less than £200.00 in the Uk rtr which ain't bad. I finished 6th out of over 80 buggies and most of them were worth close to £1000.00[8D] Read all about it here [link=http://rckingdom.co.uk/mam/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=43&Itemid=70]season 2005[/link] Some pictures here http://www.rckingdom.co.uk/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=34 we also have a review of the Cyclone [link=http://rckingdom.co.uk/mam/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=24&Itemid=114](reviews)[/link]

RE: 1/8 Bazooka "Inferno clone" Buggy - Honest feedbacks only!
I own and race a Speed Bazooka (Kimax Rally X in the UK). This is the first buggy I've owned and raced, and here are my thoughts on it after 5 race meetings and a spot of jumping[:D] The stock rear wing is of very low quality and broke first jump, and the wing mounts have since broken too. The front shock tower is very thin, but easily fixed when doubled up. This buggy (I'm going to have loads of problems with it next time, I bet) has been very reliable for me. My driving style isn't hard, and I try to keep the wheels on the ground as much as possible. It is very quick, and feels very light to control when compared to a few other buggys I've used. The stock servos have been fine, in fact I can't see why anyone would bother replacing them. The response is great even when using 4aa's to power the servos. The engine is very good, and reliable to this point with not even a blown glow plug yet. The 80mph top speed is iffy to say the least, but to me it is just a mix up with kph. This buggy is fast, and has a higher top speed that a Hyper 7 pbs. Parts are easy enough to get hold off in the UK at the moment, and the price has just dropped from £300rtr to £200.00rtr. At £200.00 its worth every single penny and I hope more people give it a go. Its nice to run something different, well I think so[;)]

Police Hovercraft
Just wanted to show my latest Hovercraft to the wider world[:D] Although not finished, it is functional and I am very excited about it and cannot wait to get it finished. It is based on the Griffon 2000 with some modifications, to take a Mini-t onboard. The finished version will have lights, sound etc and I guess its about a month or two from completion. running motors underwater?
Due to the design of a new boat I am making, it would be much better for me to mount some stock 540's under the waters surface. These will be fully submurged during running. Will this cause any damage to the motors long term? As far as I am aware, electric motors are more than happy running under water and will be cooled well too[;)] Any advice please, Colin

RE: First build need a little advise
[quote] And one more question....why didn't you jump them waves? [:D][:D][:D] [/quote] Because it really was its first ever run[:)] didn't fancy losing it to the Thames first time out[:D] I wouldn't be able to change the prop to gain more speed, but I do have a bucket load of spare motors in the garage. A 14t double has got its name on the Airboat next. The esc will run up to 7cell which I had running on the boat. I do have a Novak Duster which could take 10cells though, will give it a go over the coming weeks[8D] This was always going to be a practise model, so I will chop and change things on it. Thanks for all the comments guys, you will here from me more often now. Colin

First build need a little advise
Hi, I have been into rc trucks since day one, but just recently I have got the bug for boats (bigtime). I have decided to build an airboat as my first scratch build as I have some plans and it seems the easiest option to me. You can see the build process here [link=http://www.rckingdom.co.uk/main/projects/project5/project5.html]AIRBOAT[/link] I'm sure some of you guys can find faults with my build, but its going together well and it is my first attempt. I am now at the point of spraying the model and would then like to apply stickers etc. What is the best product to seal these on with, as I don't want them coming off after her first run[:o] That is if she floats [:D]

RE: Thinking of leaving cars for boats
I am thinking about this too:- I brought a Ripmax Tomkat and found it to be great fun and relaxing at the sametime. I now own a Traxxas Villian EX and that really rocks! I am glad I have 2 boats now as I can use either one as a rescue boat if I need too. I have 10 rc trucks at the moment and I am now going to sell 5 of them to help build my boat collection (sailing boat next). The best think about running the boats is this :- they enter and leave the water clean (one run with my truck and its at least 30mins of cleaning again). Oh, the Actionman looks cool on the Tomkat

RE: Newbie Questions Just bought my first boat
[quote]ORIGINAL: pompebled Hi Nitroarcher, Instead of the 540 motor that comes with he boat you could take a Graupner 600 eco race, start with a smaller prop, if the shaft allows it (is it standard M4 thread?). Watercool the motor and the ESC, its 25 A rating should be enough (watercooled!) Post some pics of the interior, please (so the Americans can see that the outboard is a dummy) Regards, Jan. P.S.: You could mail Ripmax and ak them, they have a number of boats that they hop up, they (Clive Coote or his P.A )should be able to tell you what motor/prop combination is the limit for the 25 A speedcontroller. [/quote] Out board is a dummy. The motor is at the front of the boat with the shaft running full lenght inside. I have some external images here:- [link=http://www.rckingdom.co.uk/main/water/waterelectric/ripmax/tomkat.html]tomkat[/link] I can get some internal if anyone is still interested.

Very similar. I also used 2 battery packs for racing with the 20t pinions and duel escs. I just cable tie the second battery to the top of the chassis and mount the 2 escs and receiver on the side of the chassis.
