RE: Woodland/Davis Ca. Jet Meet June 21-24
Well guys only a few days out. The forecast for Thursday - Sunday is mid 80's all the way with a delta breeze coming out of the bay area in the afternoons and evening to keep things nice. Looks to be perfect weather for all 4 days.

RE: Woodland/Davis Ca. Jet Meet June 21-24
There were several minor reasons for moving the event, However the major factor was that we had 4 jet events here in California in a 6 week span. Plus you have the Reno Air Races in that time span as well. Just to much going on that time of the year. So we looked at the 2011 calendar of all the west coast jet meets from Phoenix all the way up to Whidby Island and there was a hole here in late spring that did not have anything going on. So we are hoping to jump in and fill that hole and give everyone another event to attend when typically there wasn't one. Will see if it works out and go from there.

Woodland/Davis Ca. Jet Meet June 21-24
Well guys less then a month away from the Woodland jet meet. We moved the event up earlier in the year to a less congested time as far as jet events go so look forward to seeing all the west coast guys come out for the event. The new field is up and going. The entire property was just mowed. We have a 600' x 55' mat runway with several hundred feet of overruns on either end. Covered pits plus plenty of room for pop ups. Electrical power now in the pit area as well. RV's are welcome for the event however there are no hook ups. Here are a few pictures from last years event as well. RE: Carbon instead of glass for wings
Edge I have a couple planes that have the carbon vail instead of fiberglass. I picked it up from the local control line guys they use it quite a bit to stiffen up there stunt ships. I used dope to put it on vs resin. Dope works great and works a bit easier gives you a bit more time. You don't want to work it to much as the random weave starts to come apart. Once doped, sanded and primed I painted normally and get a great finish. The final product I think is stronger structurally and lighter than glass. Down side is glass and resin are better with the bumps of hanger rash. The vail being so thin and with no resin you don't get that, so there is a trade off. I have not had an issue with my Airtronics 2.4 system. However I have never done the fuse. They have always been premade fiberglass fuses so it has only been wings, stabs and controls. The vail is so fine I don't think it makes a difference to the 2.4, but that is just speculation. If you have questions let me know.

RE: SebArt Macchi Schnider Cup Racer
Do you think it could be flown as a nitro conversion? Or is it to delicate and needs to be a electric?

RE: ***2012 Jet Events (USA)***
The Woodland/ Davis Aeromodelers have set their contest calender for the year and the Thunder Over The Valley which used to be in October has been moved up. So the calender should now read as follows- June 22nd-24th 2012, Thunder Over The Valley, Woodland, CA - www.wdarc.org

RE: Woodland Davis Jet meet OCT 7,8,9...Roll call
Just confirmed that I will not have to work on Saturday. So I will be out for the weekend. I have the F-16 back in the air and should have the Ol Falcon there as well. Weather looks to be nice in the upper 70's with light winds. Should make for a great weekend. Forrest

You guys are correct....did not even notice the scale. This is the older 1/8 scale FEJ F-16. So used to seeing the discussions on the large scale ships vs the smaller.

RE: Fly Eagle Jet F16 scale 1/7
No I have it in the center hatch area with a FEJ tail pipe. No way to hang a P-80 in the tail without having to add quite a bit of nose weight to offset it. The tail mount is for a turbine the weight of a P-60. Even then you end up having all your batteries and gear as far up front to reach balance. Will open up my F-16 and post some pictures of the install tomm for you.

RE: Fly Eagle Jet F16 scale 1/7
I fly a tiger meet 1/7 FEJ F-16 on the P-80. I fly off a mat system and don't have any issues getting off the ground. If I was looking to buy a turbine to put in the F-16 it would not be the P-120 unless you plan on carrying more fuel. I would lean towards the P-100. Weight, size, fuel economy and power the P-100 would be a great in the F-16.

RE: ParkZone Micro Mosquito!!!
Yea have more time outside than indoor at this point. It can handle a light breeze much like the T-28 can. But keep in mind I said LIGHT and preferably not gusty. Also I would recommend keeping the gear on. Unfortunately the 3 blade props look cool but are not conducive to belly landing. Was actually toying with the idea of switching over to 2 blade props and trying that. Will see.
