RE: Soft Mounts
The main reason is to keep the vibration level to a lower point and try and not place the whole airframe under a high frequency vibration affecting servos, RX, connectors, etc.[8D]

Savox 1250mg and others of the Savox line that we sold to date have held up very well , price is good, and service is great. (That's my two cents)[8D]

Ya know the plane is really just the beginning of the sale. In our shop we make the plane as easy to buy as possible as the rest of the required items will also be needed.[;)]

Sorry. Just can't help but rub it in. Sorry I did it again. I will say that when Brett Wickizer flys his YS powered bi-plane at our field, his plane reminds me of a drag car with a big cam that makes it rock the wings as he taxi's it to take off. He has plenty of power!

RE: Georgetown Event is NOT being moved!!!
By the time of the event the corn will have started turning, or drying out. The field is planted with field corn so the farmer will let the ears dry out before harvesting. Guys the the only issue about flying with the rows of corn starting about 10 to 12 feet from the long edge of the runway is if the wind blows out of the east then depending on how high the wind speed is, you do get a bit of turbulence. Most of the time the wind has been blowing straight down the runway. I know my vote does not count either, but we would love to have the event at Georgetown. Terry McMahen GAMA Field Chairman

RE: Newbie to Gas General Information
Original:Frank C. Bowman Check your reeds? I installed a new Bowman ring in a DLE 30 rear intake engine for a friend. After installation compression doubled before starting engine so compression was already very good. With cowl off of plane and plane secured in blocks I turned prop over 1 turn to bring fuel up to carb. Fuel went 1/2 way up fuel line and dropped back toward tank. My friend had complained about low compression and that engine was very hard to start. I remover carb and plastic reed block from the engine to inspect. I noticed that both reeds were slightly open just a few thousandths. I removed the 2 Home page of the leading discount RC screw distributor for model builders. screws that held reeds to see why reeds wouldn't lay flat against reed block. The plastic block is cast and reed surface is not flat for a good positive seal against plastic reeds. I taped down a piece of 320 grit sand paper to edge of flat table top to lap reed block surface down flat. Reed block has a lip where it mounts to carb so place sandpaper on the edge of flat surface with lip hanging over the edge. lap each of the sides down lightly until flat, it doesn't take very much to do. The holes on the 2 steel reed retainer plate are punched, not drilled. So file or hone the 2 plate bottoms flat and remove burrs. Place reeds back on plastic block and Home page of the leading discount RC screw distributor for model builders. screw back in place but be careful as you can strip holes easily if you tighten too much. You can add a tiny bit of Locktite to make sure screws don't back out and go into engine. Make sure reeds are totally flat against reed block. If not remove reed and turn it over , often times one side of reed is flatter than the other. Upon doing this simple mod. I reinstalled card and tested the fuel draw problem. Upon turning prop 1 turn fuel now instantly was drawn up to carb and stayed there. My friend turned on the power switch, 1 flip by hand, engine started. We repeated the process with 1 flip each time about 10 to 12 times, engine started every time. Merry Christmas to all. Frank C. Bowman AKA Ringmaster
Added by Moderator

RE: Dean Connectors
Could go a better way by using the Traxxas plugs which are rated at 100 amps. as opposed to the Deans at only 60 amps. Traxxas plugs are much easier to pull apart and solder.

Restrictive movement of two identical Hitec servos
I have two HS 322HB Hitec servos that have developed a common trait. When both are tested on an activated RX, also Hitec, the arm movement is slow on both and approximately 20 degress arm rotation in both directions instead of the usual 60 degrees. The older servos, you could make some adjustments by turning the wiper pots by going through the output shaft. I'm reluctant to do this with the newer servos of today. I'm aware that these units are not digital, but this activity at first to me appears as though these servos were programed this way. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

PRO-LINE UPdate
I have an original PRO-LINE Competition 6 Single Stick TX on AM 72.960. Now what ideas out there (other than abandoning this idea) are out there where I could use the machined gimbals, that are on multiple ball bearings, to bring up to date to use with modern programing and multiple model memory, etc. I'm aware of some companies that will perform alterations, but I also wanted to get some ideas from others who have also used this type of TX. Thanks in advance.
