RE: 42 cc homelite
You say your boat is under powered what size & how heavy is your boat? The output shaft on a chainsaw engine needs a left hand thread for the prop adp. witch is good you can use a Tractor prop instead of a pusher prop. These boats have a 41cc Robin engine on them . they are not chainsaw engines http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujCT5C4KVR8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5rdfEQLDpc&feature=related

RE: Weed Wacker Servo
I have used the ¼ scale servos on our !/4 scale Airboats for years and they work good but they have been overkill on some of the Airboats and the 645 has been a good way to go. If you have the room the Hobbico CS- 80 works good for the rudders. Thats All Folks

RE: Weed Wacker Servo
The servo that we uses is a HItec HS-645MG about $32.00. Torque: 106.93 oz-in at 4.8V 133.31 oz-in at 6.0V This is a good servo for the rudders to and there is a waterproof one now.

RE: FLORIDA RC AIRBOATERS
PINKY_D_BRAIN you have a good point. I have contacted IMPBA & NAMBA and they are totally against Airboats and the RC part of APBA is now operating under NAMBA rules. If we could get our foot in the door that would be great and have a division like the combat boats. We do not have to run with the water prop boats. Thanks for your input

RE: FLORIDA RC AIRBOATERS
It is time to cool down like I said. When I stared this post I did not intent to have one RC Airboat club against another this post is to see if there are boater that would like to have organized racing in Florida. If boaters would like to join that is fine if not that is fine also this is up to the RC Airboaters of Florida. Chris I am not getting in to he said she said we are suppose to be grown men and I will drop it there.

RE: FLORIDA RC AIRBOATERS
When I stared this post I did not intent to have one RC Airboat club against another this post is to see if there are boater that would like to have organized racing in Florida. For the most part in Florida if you are going to have a organized event of any kind you will need insurance for the land owner private, county or state. We can run at the local parks without having insurance but if we have an event we will need it. I have been involved in RC Airboats Racing for 5 years with the M-AB-A and is has been great the M-AB-A is a small club and there are not enough members to get insurance at this time and I would like to race in Florida as a organized event with more than 5 or 6 people that show up to run there boats around the pond. As I said in my first post this not a club that is going now if you think you would like to be in on staring a Racing club in Florida send me a PM and I will get back with you. Thanks Chris that sounds like a good place to run we are looking for at least 4 places around the state to run there is one in SW Florida that I am looking in to. I know this type of racing in not for ever one but for the ones that like racing we will have a good time.

RE: ill placed boat
One thing I can say Joe is that on that cage as bad as it was bent not one joint was Broken. That cage has been hit hard on the side one time at a race and we straiten it out for the next heat and the boat placed in the top three for that weekend. We will try and straiten it out if not make a new one and have the boat as a backup for someone if needed. Although it was not planed it was a good test for the cages we make.

RE: RC Airboat builders
Come on Guys I am not asking for your secrets. I am writing an article on RC Airboats and needed some info. I did not know there were only two or three of us that are building and selling Airboats or air powered boats out of a small shop. Looking over the web I see web pages that are not up now so I don’t know if they are still selling boats. These builders may have not been on RCU that is why I have made this post

RC Airboat builders
How many RC Airboat builders sell there boats or will take orders for there boats that they build. And how long have you been building airboats. The sport is growing although it has been slow. I build my first Gas RC Airboats that were for sale in the fall of 1990 and still love to make a new boat.
