RE: NEW H9 P51 Mustang 60 ARF
It is completly hand made out of styrene plastic. Evergreen Scale Models makes all sorts of styrene sheets, rods, tubes, I beams, H beams, angles, half rounds, etc. It is light and easy to work with. It glues well with CA, or plastic cement, sandable, easy to paint. Neat stuff.

RE: NEW H9 P51 Mustang 60 ARF
Hello all, new to this forum...though have been following for some time. I finally recieved my new H9 mustang the begining of Feb 2012. The new planes do seem to have some of the forementioned weaknesses addressed. I felt that a plane that looks this good out of the box, could look better with a good looking cockpit. I was appauled at the "interior" parts supplied. I modeled every single part out of Evergreen Scale Models Styrene Plastic. This stuff is great to work with. The insturments are actually a photograph. After all was said and done, plastic, wood, glue, and paint. The entire "scale" cockpit weighed in at only 3 1/4oz! The entire cockpit does "split" when the top deck is removed.

RE: NEW H9 P51 Mustang 60 ARF
If anybody has a link to photograps of the interior placards, I would greatly appreciate it...also a good looking scale pilot. I used a Century Jet 1/7 WWII pilot for reference, but boes not hold to the quality I am looking for.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
Cheers guys! I thought the spoiler looked cool too :) I have a confession, its not real carbon, just a wrap, but it's very good quality and i've gotten fairly good at applying the wrap so it looks professional and very real. All in all a cheap but cool mod. I could get a real one made as I am good mates with a guy who own's a carbon fibre company, however, it would probably be expensive to mould then fairly pricey to actually buy the moulded products.

Exhaust / Oily Engine / General tuning questions
Evening chaps. Car is a HPI Firestorm 10T (earlier one with orange and black flames) In the absence of after run oil i've been putting a few drops of car engine oil into the beast each night (literally 3 drops), but my after run oil arrived today so will be using that from now on. I noticed a **** load of oil around the exhaust ports and generally on the engine and thought it could be the oil working it's way out of the engine after use. However, tonight I checked the exhaust bolts and they were loose as buggery!! SO, took off the exhaust and gave it all a clean. The gasket cracked and broke (is this usual or do they decay after time, the car is an older model after all), so I used car engine gasket sealant around the port instead (very small amount tidily applied of course). Fitted it all back up and ran the car for a while. I am still trying to get it tuned to perfection. Doesn't seem to be running as mint as it was the other day? It's super sensitive to the adjustment on the needles too. Couldn't go an 1/8 of a turn on the HSN as it's simply too lean! The car seems to like the rich settings for some reason. Also the LSN is uber sensitive (even though it's almost impossible to turn given it's location!) :yucky: :yucky: Top end speed is generally very good, and there's always a trail of smoke from the exhaust, however, when i lean it off it stutters upon full acceleration (say you apply full throttle from stand still), if I richen it up it's better, but I am trying to improve the acceleration. There's also a fair bit of smoke just on idle, but when I lean off the LSN it doesn't seem to like that either! Finally I noticed that the idle adjustment screw doesn't really open the throttle more, it just prevents it from closing when you apply the brake. And when you do apply the brake it seems to put a lot of pressure on the throttle arm (bending it slightly)? Just looking for comments on my observations, and general tips - thanks :)

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
Here are a few pics of my new (old) Firestorm. Bought this on ebay but it hadn't been run so was like new. Ran it in properly, tuned it a bit and now it goes like stink, I love it! :) Also pimped it a little with a nice custom carbon spoiler. I think it looks ace! What Glowplug for HPI Firestorm 10T?
I just bought one second hand, it's mint condition but an older model, and won't start. I checked the glow plug and the last coil isn't igniting, so I suspect if I change this she will start. I am using Byron Gen 2 25% Nitro. Thanks.
