RE: help modeling a boat from scratch~
The boat I want to build is in the picture above. I have seen all of the outboards you have posted thanks! I am far more concerned with the actual building of the hull than the outboard. I can make a model outboard from foam and balsa. L.R.

help modeling a boat from scratch~
I would like to model my 1:1 East Cape Skiff Lostmen in 1:10 scale. I am an above average modeler, but have not messed with too many boats. I have built several kits (air boats) but never a scratch build. it is an 18 foot flats boat, slightly dropped nose, poling platform, totaly flat deck small cockpit, and a side consolle. I have a 60hp Etec on it. Is there any options for scale working outboards? any help would be appreciated. How do I start the build process? L.R. [8D]
ORIGINAL: 66Malibu Just curious...Why would you use channel locks, screwdrivers, or nut drivers to tighten the .074 prop nut when the Norvel wrench is made for it?
I would think its probably because I dont have one. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif] L.R. [8D]

RE: How do I keep my Prop screwed in on my .074 Norvel?
well if I could get the silly thing to start I wouldnt need a spinner- look at the pic, there isnt one on there now! I just am scared of stripping out that screw. I havent used channel locks yet, but flat nosed screw driver, and the right sized nut driver and I just cant get it tight enough. I will switch to vice grips/ channel locks and hope that works. probably try to clean out the screw and threads inside the motor with acetone or something to make sure it is clean and not filled with castor oil! Then I guess i will try a drop of thread locker on that screw. that Ace corsair flys really well- and surprisingly glides almost as good as it flies! Thanks for the props, I mean help! L.R. [8D]

Funny some of you mentioned using a spring starter as I think thats is the easiest was to start these things! Though I was thinking for some reason the one I tried to put on the .074 some years back didn't fit? Ideas, suggestions, help? L.R.

How do I keep my Prop screwed in on my .074 Norvel?
Every time I go to start the silly thing it spins the prop off! I can only tighten it so much I sure as heck dont want to strip the threads. Does anyone make some small aluminum spinner that I can really tighten down so I can use a small starter to get it going. I love my .074 norvel, and I want to put some stick time on my old Ace Corsair. L.R. [;)]

need help finding 30" warbirds!
Guys, I know your all into the small stuff so I am hoping some of you will know where I can find an F4F Wildcat and a TBM Avenger Guillows calls these the 3/4 scale planes- also an F8F in walnut scale (17" wingspan or so) Between Guillows and Dumas I have access to almost all of the models I need for a special gift to a family member. I would rather however build up the larger 30" wing span models versus the tiny peanuts. Any manufacturer, stick and tissue is fine- these models will not fly, they will be fully sheeted and sealed except for any cloth covered parts, painted, weathered, panel lined, etc... thanks so much for your help! I have been coming up short on my Google searches! L.R. [8D]

heck there was only 2 of them when I built it- the little rascal which was for the .049-.061 and the rascal which was I believe the .40 sized one. so I am going to to with the Nitro Rascal~ and that is my final answer! [:D] L.R. [8D]

I would entertain other airframe options that are of similar style. I like to throttle back and let it float around. I am looking to fly this thing in a park so might keep that in mind as well~ the lil rascal would land sloooow and was really easy to fly. where is everyone? L.R. [:)]

built one for my cousin many moons ago- I have a .049 norvell sitting around i was thinking of building another, but I would like ailerons. I am SURE someone has done this conversion. Can anyone link me to some pages or give some insight? last time I built one I inverted the motor so I could have a full "cowl" over the motor worked ok, but was kind of a PITA- dont know if I will do all that again lol.
