RE: LED failure on EQ6
Great, thanks for your reply!! Then I'll go fly[8D] Btw, I am know using a JR 921 reciever, and I've read the other posts about not using the BATT connections etc. You mentioned that THRO and AUX4 should be used for the powerleads, but in my setup, I prefer using GEAR and AUX3!!! Should that give any problems? Regards Michael

LED failure on EQ6
Hi Robert, I'm a happy owner of an EQ6, and it has served med well during a couple of years now. It still does, but I found out that the green LED on channel 7 came loose, and only works if I push down on it!!!! Channel 7 is not in use in my setup, but I need to ask, if the "loose" LED can cause a failure during flight? Kind Regards Michael Lund Denmark

RE: H-9 Extra 260
ORIGINAL: plaster93 With the painted heads the temps on the 106 will be hotter.... around 215*
I read that somewhere in this forum, but I believed it to be a "tall story"..... Has it been testet yet? To my understanding 3W never mentioned this in their manuals[:o] Yes, I run the 3w M50 cans! Do you have the same setup! //Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
I have now made the changes and tested the setup. The rear baffle hasn't been necessary.. Five test flights yesterday (a very hot day in Denmark 85 dg. F.) with temp readings just seconds after landing, didn't show temps higher than 190 dg. F. Actually one reading on left cylinder was 170 dg. F. Problem solved[:)] Thanks for your help and postings.. Regards Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
Yes of course you are right [sm=red_smile.gif]!!![:@] I'll try the following changes: - change the angle of the lower baffle upwords to let the air go up! - cut off 1-2 cm of the upper baffle to allow the air to pass through the fins, behind and down. - baffle the "sides" to prevent air escaping at the top of the cylinders. If that isn't enough I'll install a rear baffle to make sure that hot air isn't trapped in the upper cowl. Since this is my first "baffle", I would still like to see how you guys have prevented to overheat these hard working engines!!! //Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
Let us see your baffling, on the Extra 260[8D] My 106i (CS) was for sure running hot, if I didnt baffle.... But I still havent got the temp below 205 *F. How have you done it? //Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
Hi Andy, The total lenght needed is 53 mm. if using a 3w 106i. I did not use the alu ones but made a wooden spacer instead. //Michael

RE: Bling 3D 50cc ARF
Hi there, I can't find a manual for the Bling, and need to check if it's possible to use cans. Due to noiserestrictions in-cowl muflers aren't good enough. I'm going for a DA-50 and a KS can (if possible) Thx Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
Thanks for your answers, I've decided to use "Knuckleheaders" from MTW and Can's from 3W- so now I don't have to worry about headerdrop, just bend in place, and solder (a bit)[:)] It seems like my plane is a bite delayed, so I would like to make good use of the time until arrival, by creating the spacer. So what's the distsance between firewall and engine? (3w 100/106) Regards Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
Hi, I’m installing a 3W 106 on my Extra and I would appreciate if someone using the same engine could post some pictures/ideas regarding mounting, header drop, spacer distance etc. This is my first 3W so every detail is of interest[8D][8|] Thanks a lot Michael

RE: H-9 Extra 260
Hi there, It's with great interest that I've read all the above... This plane has just entered Denmark, and I expect to recieve my "two boxes" next week[:D]. I've decided to go for the 3W 106i B2 (CS) with cans, but I'm not sure what's best... 3w cans, MTW, KS etc. What kind/brand of header would be the best choice (if i'm not going to solder it..) Michael

I have wrecked my LG mounting/area a couple of times now, and want to start all over again..... Regards Michael Denmark
