RE: Suggestions on next RC buy?
agree the erevo bl is not water proof with the mamba monster. if your looking for a monster truck savage is the way to go. yeah traxxas has a rep held up by people who dont have a lot of exp. dont get me wrong there are some people who have been in the hobby for a while an will recommend traxxas as a good rc but with the amount of money your dropping look a little furthur and there are better things to get.

RE: ESC/motor combo for 4x4 sct
Whats up with the novak esc that comes in a combo for the novak 550 motors? i see most people are directing there attention towards a mamba max pro combined with the novak 550 6.5t.

RE: ESC/motor combo for 4x4 sct
hmm, i am iffy on hk products. i a name brand kind of guy sorry.[:(] i know that they work and have been proven by many people. i just like to get stuff my lhs carries. and i like to invest in the long run so i think i would like to stick towards 550 size or 1/8 motors. what about the mamba monster how does that handle on 2s?

RE: ESC/motor combo for 4x4 sct
SO are you saying i could use a 550 size motor with my mamba max? because for the sct what i have been reading is that a low kv 540 motor will work but its really hard on the motor to push a 6 to 7 pound rc. so they recommend a 550 motor or 1/8 motor/esc.

ESC/motor combo for 4x4 sct
hey i looking at the getting into the 4x4 sct scene since there are a few more on the market since last year. mainly looking at the jammin. i like the alum chassis little more weight in my mind is so bad since the body tends to be a little wind resistant when catching an upward draft from the wind. but my question is what is a good motor esc combo. there are a few to choose from like traxxas vxl, castles new sidewinder and mamba pro sc, mamba monster? or novak havoc sc pro and more? hears whats also on in my mind i do have a castle mamba max with a 5700kv motor that i got 2yrs ago, and was wondering if i could just get a new motor for the esc? also i got the mamba monster on my mind too. for $30 more for than some of these combos i can get the mamba monster and later on if i want to use it for my 1/8 buggy i can, but can i you use the mamba monster with a 2s lipo because im thinking that with a 4s lipo it might be a little over kill, and i really dont need to have too much power for racing. right now i am crunching numbers and either going to convert my buggy to brushless for the race season or get a 4x4 sct. i am looking at around $600 to have my buggy "race ready" conversion kit, esc/motor, tires, battery, new body etc... i have specktrum recievers and a few hitec servos laying around to use, 2s 5400mah battery, and i got my caliber tires from my blitz that i think will work for the sct if i go that route, so if i go sct all i need is kit, motor/esc combo and paint for the body.

hey i need to know if this conversion kit will work for the jammin x1x. it says its for the jammin x1cr so i am assuming that they are the same chassis? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVHF4&P=0

RE: sc18 handling
slow down maybe or adjust the suspension? or get slipperier tires that dont grip so much. not much you really can do since the sc18 isnt made for on-road.

RE: Best electric 1/8 buggy
well really i have a jammin x1 cr converting to elec. and it does everything i need it to do on the track. i think its mostly the driver that makes it a great rc. besides really whats the point of getting the rc with the best quality parts. when most likely your just going to be club racing? if anything ofna has a good rep for durablilty and like said before caster racing is moving up in the world. how much are you planning to spend all together? stuff is going to add up fast with just starting out with and elec kit and your going to be racing it too.

lipo for mamba monster
alright i am converting my jammin x1x into elec. for this next race season. and i am looking at lipos. i dont think i need 6s, but i was wondering if a 3s lipo with like around 40c and 5000mah would work and not over heat. otherwise i will just get a 4s lipo. its just converting this buggy is costing a pretty penny.

RE: Favorite Short Course Truck?
I agree that the 2wd slash is over priced. the sc10 brushless is your best bang for your buck. but if i would start over i would get the jammin scrt and invest deeply into it. i have a blitz and had a slash.

RE: are these the only companies with micro rc cars?
there are a bit more than you think you just have to look harder, like theres ZDracing and xray and AE. and more out there but most arent as creative as losi. but thats not always the best.

RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
well if anyone cares or not but i have had my mini slash vxl for over a year now and just fixing everything that has loosened up or needs to be replaced. well first thing that i am replacing is the tires. the two rear are bald out, and one of the front tires shredded apart. then theres the body. the rear part where you put the body clips in have been ripped and cracked to heck. plus other various cracks and dings through out the body. need to replace the axle carriers on all four sides, they are a bit loose from wear and tear, plus the push rods and toe links need to be replaced from wear and tear too. i got alum. toe links because they were the worst so in the futur i would only need to replace the ends, the push rods werent too bad so i just got stock ones to replace. i am replacing the the front upper and lower a-arms, they arent broken or cracked they are just worn down so much on the outside from srcapping the ground that any more abuse could mean a wreck. also the front skip plate needs to be replaced it is scrapped and worn out plus a little bent out of place i lost a suspension pin because of how bad of condition of the front skid plate is in. i am getting pivot balls too for the heck of it. other wise before this i have replaced the servo on it with a hitec micro servo or something of hitec cant remember an too lazy to look. i have had to replace the back bumper. the thing i have replaced the most probably replaced this part about 5 times is the front body mount. the part that breaks on them is the front of them were they attach to the front bumper. it always cracks or breaks apart at that spot. otherwise this is still my favorite rc i have so far. my blitz is haveing ball cup issuses, my jammin x1 is sitting in pieces and needs to be worked over. and my stampede looks like a hack job of various electrontics slapped on it and the axle carriers and ball barrings need to be replaced badly on it. sorry i didnt post any pics i dont have a camera [:@]

RE: Official Losi Mini 1/16 SCT RTR
idk i own a mini slash and this thing is going to have to be amazing like the mini slash. but props towards have the xcelorin system and the specktrum sr300 reciever. but its 2wd and only carries one battery so its at a disadvantage with the slash if your going to race the two together. because thats what i got out of the losi 1/16 scale sct.

I just put the strc steering in and a spektrum s6020 servo in. big difference on the track. the servo was a little tight to put in but it was better than the spektum s100 that was in there.
