RE: Need quick battery help
the cells are flat, this happens after ya store them with power left in them. you might be able to cycle them a few times and get them back up, but most likely not being they're cheap cells. lipo are the only way to go, they last 1000's of cycles and are way more reliable than NiMh or NiCd.

You 'liked' it and could afford it, so you bought it. Second, upgrade the servos. Third, purchase the spare parts that commonly need replacing on ALL truggies of ANY brand. witha pull start or roto start OS youwill have to do sum surgery on the chassis and the front of the transmission case ... go with a traxxas 2.5 it will still have the ez start and more than enough motor. plus its a direct drop in. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_23_30/products_id/5106/n/Traxxas-TRX-25R-15-Rear-Exhaust-IPS-Shaft-Standard-Plug-Slide-Carb-Engine-Non-Pull

yep i believe they are going too .... i haven't got to race my truggy for a good 5 months, there just isn't any body runnin' em around my area any more .. buggy is a hot class tho .. if ya decide to look at a E Buggy check out the durango dnx 408 the E version is supposed to be out in a month and they have killer part support, plus parts are cheap too !! http://www.team-durango.com/race-cars/dnx408/

RE: SPECKTRUM 2.0
i have had a dx 2.0 like 5 years and its been a great radio very reliable. never have had any problems other than a antenna wire getting pulled loose from the circuit board .. was my sons fault, he ripped it out LOL ... so i soldiered it back on and its still working great ... the spektrum is a good reliable radio .. i gave it to my wife and she uses it every weekend, it works flawless.

RE: transmission problems
my sons rusty came with silicone in it, it leaked bad .. so he put in the lithium high temp wheel bearing grease and it stopped leaking and the diff worked pretty good. but any thick grease should do .. lube the o-ring before ya reassemble the diff, it helps it seal.

LOL alot of sliding around corners definately required if the diff is locked ..... turn, what turn ...... just hammer it and hold on!!!! my son ran lithium wheel bearing grease in his .. never leaked it out and the diff held solid for several year of hard abuse.

RE: Electric vs Nitro: Racing for a Beginner?
ORIGINAL: FoamyVictim Electric is much easier to deal with. Once you get your setup right(not hard) its plug'n'play. There are so many things that make nitro tough to get into without a good experienced friend to help you along. So if you want to get started, start with electric. It'll be MUCH easier; that way you spend most of your time driving it, in stead of working on it. [;)]
+1

RE: transmission problems
for bashing the gear diff "locked" is going to be better. for racing the ball diff is better. the hard is the learning to build and set one up properly

a brushed motor should blow the winds before it comes un soldiered .. unless as stated above ya have cold soldier joints, then they can fall off easily

RE: F8T 1.5 RTR
sorry i was not trying to jack your thread, the castor handles exeptionally well with the saddle pack configuration. Hak said they have addressed the arm and cup issue, that says they are on top of emerging problems and that's a good thing .. honestly if ya like the truggy then give it a try, the biggest part of a truggy is getting your set up correct, they are all competitive if driven clean

RE: Why isn't my car going as fast?
you are going to need to cycle the new pack a few times to see the full potential, its just the nature if NiMh packs. charge until the pack is warm but not hot .. discharge/run it till it stops and let it cool then hit it again. the pack should get stronger with each cycle. brush's wear out fast especially if they aren't broken in properly.

RE: F8T 1.5 RTR
most likely Chase's hammered driving style is the root of the cause.... i wasn't knocking the castor stuff, just passing on what i have seen .. the 8th stuff handles great and the 10th 4wd buggy and SC truck are some seriously sweet stuff tho!! i really couldn't switch from my current gear because i have 2 of each vehicle i race + parts to build 2 of each the only part i have broke in 2 season's has been 1 rear carrier, and i took a flying side hit in the wagon wheel from Chase LOL was no hope for survival! so i am sure you can see why i won't buy all new gear to change brands.
