RE: YS CLUB
Hi Guys, Where is everyone getting there fuel these days? I am looking for some 30% but none of the local hobby shops carry it anymore. Mike,

RE: YS CLUB
Hi Guys, I do use type F plugs on the 4 cycles. this appears to be more of a high end issue. if instead of going to wide open I go from low to say 3/4 quarter throt. I don't seem to have this problem. A far as factory presets the DZ has no low end adj. only the reg. and the high end. One other question. If anyone has a 1.40 DZ my high end needle seems to be a lot less sensitive than most YS's is the normal. Thanks Mike,

RE: YS CLUB
Hi Guys, I have a 1.40 DZ that I can't get to transition as I go through the pattern. If I just fly level and punch from about 1/4 throttle it works fine but if if I try coming down out of say a Figure M and then going back up it really sags for awhile and the will catch and start running strong again. If I yank the DZ out and put my old 1.40L back in the plane it runs fine. The DZ idles great and run good at full throttle transition is great on the ground. fuel is wildcat 30/20 prop is a APC 16X10. I have tried adjusting everything I can think of. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Mike,

I did change the gaskets, but not the O-rings they all looked in very good shape.

RE: YS CLUB
I figure as long as I am looking for help I might as well ask before I give and send it it to YS parts and service. I recently put bearings in my YS 110S and now the thing won't run below full throttle. It acts like I have a massive air leak or the regulator is messed up. It has good tank pressure and compression, I have check the cam timing and it looks good. this is the first time I have taken one of the engines with the ring on the crank and rubber seal behind the front bearing apart. Any ideas on what I messed up. 1 more bit of info when you close the carb with the line to the carb unhooked fuel quits pumping out below about half throttle, when spinning it with a starter. A trivia question, on these engine with the seal on the crank how do the pressure impulses get up to the regulator. Thanks Mike,

RE: YS CLUB
No special restrictions, but I am not a big fan of running just a header pipe on a 4c. I am looking for something similar to what I have on my YS 110S or satio 125.

Hi Guys, I am wanting to put a 140 DZ on a big profile. Any ideas on what type of muffler to use? I was wanting to stay away from the articulate pipe/muffler setup like I use on the P-plane. Thanks Mike,

RE: YS CLUB
Crusier, I am just guessing, but it sounds like you may have an air leak in either the air box or somewhere in the crankcase. one thing to be sure and check is the gasket for the rocker arm cover. make sure it is not deformed and that it fits properly so that when tightened down no air can leak in around it. RE: YS 110 needs a home
DT, One thing to think about. Depending on how long you keep a plane some of the profile planes don't take a Y.S. 1.10 at idle very well. I guess if you never throttle back it would be ok, but the nice slow idle will literally tear up the front of the plane. think it has to do with the higher effective compression. Just my .02 Mike,

RE: TOC Aviation Fun Scale YAK Pro
To anyone that has a Y.S. in one of these planes. How did you keep the tank pressure from pressing on the sides of the fuse and breaking the formers and such loose. I had a 1.10 in mine for a couple of weeks but got tired of trying to keep the tank from breaking the fuse. So I gave up and put an O.S. in it . thanks,

RE: Hyde engine mount in a profile model?
As many of the others have said 200 hundred flights does not seem like a lot of flights to me. I don't understand why the engine should ever shake the plane apart if everything is kept balanced. On the soft mount. The profiles I have soft mounted I used lords mounts and acouple of aluminum plates. It really will cut vibration, but the problem of the plane tearing itself apart at idle I am not sure you can do much for it.

RE: rolling loop
Hi guys, One thing you need to think about is that once the plane get to about the 1 oclock position you need to be pushing it to the outside of the circle, and then let gravity do its thing from about 11 to 9. Then really pull the the center of the loop from 9 to 6. Which all really comes down to burn a lot of fuel. one more question are you trying to do this in one roll or a half dozen or so. Mike,

RE: ARF people - What are your reasons for not building kits?
I used to build kits, but now in the world of pattern the best planes are all painted in the mold arfs. My Smargd is the last kit plane I built and that was 5 years ago. Mike,

RE: Are there people who fly 3D but do not crash?
Isn't this a little like asking who flies R/C and never crashes. I find if I can stay away from maneuvers that involve touching the ground or indoors wall and ceilings I don't crash any more often flying 3D stuff than I any other time. Happy Holidays

RE: Why you love the OMP Fusion?
Hi Mike, Great flying plane, but I don't know how you got 2 years out it with a Y.S. 110. I have just about 30 flights on mine and the engine is starting to twist the front of the plane off. I am going to try filling it with foam in the front and maybe remove the covering in the wing area and try epoxying the wing solid to the fuse to see if it will absorb some of the vibration at idle. Mike,

RE: A couple mojo questions
HI Guys, Thanks for the ideas. I am using a 12.25X3.75 prop I have also tried a 12X4. Think the Answer is to just fly it some and get used to the way a 2 cycle acts again. Thanks

RE: A couple mojo questions
Hi Guys, I am Using a O. S. 46 FX on my MOJO and find that the throttle seems twitchy it either wants to rise slowly or descend. I am always fooling with the throttle. It is making tail touchs and such a pain( my other planes have 4cycles in them and don't seem to act that way). Any Ideas on what the throttle curve should look like to make this easier. Thanks

RE: Swany Mojo 40 ARF?
Thanks, I ended up using Depron and painting it looks like it will hold up ok. I test flew the plane this afternoon and everything seem to work out ok. Just using and old O.S. 46 but it seems to work ok hover just above half throt.so life is good. I have the Batt. up near the leading edge at the moment think I will want to move it back a little before I am Done. It still drops a little inverted but is still a blast to fly. Mike,

RE: Why you love the OMP Fusion?
HI Guys, I am running a YS 110 in my fusion and it acts like it is going to take the front of the plane off. At low throttle the head on the engine is moving about 3/4 of an inch and I only have about 20 flights on it. What is it going to be like after several hundred? Any ideas about stiffening up the front end? Thanks Mike,

RE: 90 sized fusion engine
Hi Guys a couple of quick questions. Is everyone using the single bolt though the fuse to hold the wings on ( it seems like kind of a pain compared to my other planes), and where is the best place to run the antenna on the ARF? While I am asking for those of you that have already flown the plane quite a bit. How much right thrust am I going to need? thanks Mike,

RE: YS CLUB
Hi Guys, Looking for ideas here. I have a YS 140L that will not idle consistently. It acts like there is a air leak in the case somewhere but I can't seem to find it . The engine worked ok for many years " has close to 1000 flights" still has good compression. Earlier this year I wore out the cam" small metal pieces everywhere" so I sent it in for repair and now I can't get it to idle reliably. It acts lean no mater how far you screw in the low speed needle. All the gaskets look good and the O-rings seem to be ok. I hate to tear the engine down and re-build it from scratch. It just came back from YS service and everything looks great. What am I over looking? Note it is inverted on a Hyde mount. Thanks,

I have been flying a Patty setup the way you describe for years. Your description sounds right to me. If you wait around a bit more maybe someone will come up with a part number. I looked but the paperwork on mine is long gone.

RE: GP Patty Wagstaff - Building & Flying
D_Wheel, I think the Maneuver you are referring to is called a figure M. I have also seen it done with 3/4 rolls up and down so you end up inverted in the center of the maneuver.
