RE: Official Rustler Thread
I just purchased a used Ruslter off of ebay.....it has the older lx1 esc and a epic 98 brushed motor. I just stripped the plastic idler gear and was gonna purchase a metal gear { not aluminum} to replace it. Do I really need to purchase a plastic top gear to work with the new metal idler gear...or can I just use my stock metal top gear with the new metal idler gear ? Also, is it worht it to purchase a metal differntial gear with metal sun gears, or do the stock plastic ones hold up well?

RE: Sky Scooter Pro II
Yes..I had a esskay 400 xt..the one hobby -lobby sells for like $30...and I smoked that on the scooter..just running a 3s...I will say this about the himax...it seems like it can be pushed to the limit..and take it...ive already had a 10x8 prop on it..with a 3s..and it didnt burn it up...supposedly...going to a 4s lipo..will actually make it draw less amps ??..from what ive read...although the voltage increases...I plan to prop down to a 8x8...for the 1st try..if the motor and esc isnt hot..I can go up a notch from there in prop size if I want..im also trying a new brand of lipo...for a 4s-1500 mah..it was only $25..supposedly its a 10c pack/...Ill find out soon enuff..if it holds up..the price is hard to beat...

RE: Sky Scooter Pro II
Well im gonna try the scooter with my himax 2812-1080 outrunner and a 4s lipo...on my C.C. 25 esc ..it may be to much for my motor and esc..but im gonna prop down to about an 8x8 prop..and go for broke...ill bring it down after about a minute or 2 of flight..and see if any of the components feel to hot...if not..this setup should really light a fire in the scooter..as far as top speed...

RE: UPDATE..The best $30 r/c plane you may own
whats really amazing about this lil aeroace...is that it is easily getting 10 minuetes of full flight per charge {which only takes about 20 minutes off the transmitter charger} ,,,but I recently checked the voltage of the 1s-lipo in the plane after a full charge off the transmitter..and it only goes to a charge of 4.02 volts..and cuts off...so the battery isnt near the 4.2volts full charge it is capable of handling..I took the lipo out of the plane and made it so I can give it a full charge on my home plug in charger...with 4.2volts in it..it should not only have more power..but stay up at least a couple more minutes...

RE: The best flying $25 r/c plane you may ever own..
raidentech.com ...sells several of these planes..Supersonic..Preserver..etc..the sky-a40 I think is similair to the Supersonic..and they fly pretty good..I started a thread in the parkflyers section...about the AREOACE...check it out..it is definitely the best flying $30 mini plane I have owned/seen...

RE: The best flying $25 r/c plane you may ever own..
ive owned both of the 2 you mentioned..and they are decent flyers..but for the same price..the AEROACE blows them away,,,heres why 1. aeroace comes with a 1s- lipo battery..very lightweight and efficient..the others come with a heavier less efficient nimh battery 2. the aeroace has a 5 or 6 step proportional throttle..the others only have on/off throttle 3. the aeroace is made from epp foam..while the others are of a styrofoam type material..not nearly as durable/crash resistant} 4 the charging system on the aeroace transmitter charges very quickly/efficiently providing 10 + minutes of flight... since all these mentioned planes are around the $30 price range { with shipping handling} ..the aeroace is the clear winner...you mya want to ask your toys rus store if they can order 1 for you...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
dont buy the 240 mah lipo yet//..I ordered 2 of them..and if they work..I will let ya know...although its only 1.1 grams heavier..it may be to much weight...but I doubt it...I think its gonna fly nicely with at least 20 minutes of flying time..

GET AN AEROACE... toys r us has them..{ sometimes} ,...here is the stk # 203917...they are made by airhogs and may be the best $30 r/c plane out there..comes with a lipo..and incremental speed control for the 2 motors...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
I actually have the red plane..and my elevators had to go down..im hoping with the slightly heavier 240 lipo..the plane will now climb out on the 2-3rd throttle setting...allowing me to descend the plane on the 1st setting under full control...as it is now..the 1st throttel setting with stk battery..she wont stop climbing

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
actually they jus pull out..they are stuck on with strong sticky tape..slowly pull 1 side and it will come off the fuselage..single wing flys much better..then yiu can sand down that whole area on both sides of fusealge...with a 240 mah -1s lipo..I should easily get 20 minutes flight..if you arent happy with your range..increase the antenna with some magnet wire..stk antenna is around 15c.ms...cut one that is 60cms...and you will have all the range you need..just loop it thru the rear boom 3 times..

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
I aslo took off the bottom wing..you may want to sand down all the xtra epp foam where the bottom wing was mounted...as its not needed..and will decrease the weight of the plane a bit if you sand it down flush...I ordered a 240 mah -1s lipo for mine..gonna see if it will fly with it..its about 1.1 grams heavieer then the stk lipo...

RE: Parkzone Releases New F27 Stryker Model!
it was from rcgroups...I asked your opinion on lengthening a 27mhz rec. antenna..that was at 15c.m.s stk..and what you felt would be the best amount of length to add to it for best reception/...sent you this p.m about 2 days ago..your article on antennas was for 72mhz systems..mostly parkflyers..this is for a mini 9inch r/c plane on 27 mhz...

RE: UPDATE..The best $30 r/c plane you may own
csimmer..if you can solder...you can eaisly make the antenna longer...30-40 cms will make your range much better...I have done this..and I used magnet wire as my antenna..I can now stand at 1 end of a baseball diamond field in a schollyard..and take the plane to the other end of the field without losing control..you may want to put a lil weight in the front of the nose..like a 5mm washer..this will make it fly more stable...almost all of these lil 27mhz toy r/c planes need tweaking..they will genrally fly out of the box..but with a few moments of mods..you can improve there performance greatly..ive ordered 2- 220 mah-1s lipos for mine.this should easily give me 20 minutes of powered flight...the plane is sticky taped together in 2 halves..and is quite simple to dissamble to get to the guts and do a few mods

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
tom..hows your range on yours??..mine wasnt great..so I lengthened the antenna to 50cms...now it goes as far as I hoped it would while still maintaing control....I bought a 1s-220 mah lipo to put in it..should be here this week..it weighs about 1.2 grams more then the stk lipo..but I think the plane will handle the weight easily..as I will place the new lipo more forward a bit..to make it a bit nose heavy..which will allow the nose weight to be taken off..I also took off my bottom wing..so now its a single wing..flys great this way...

RE: UPDATE..The best $30 r/c plane you may own
another update on the AEROACE....it comes as a biplane..but took off the bottom wing today and flew it...and it even flys better then its stk setup...at 1st throttle increment..it climbs like a homesik angel...it has a stk 130 mah -1s lipo in it..but I just ordered a 1s-220 mah lipo..it is about 1.2 grams heavier then the stk lipo..but I dont think the plane will have a problem handling the xtra weight..and should give over 20 minutes of flightime...

RE: Parkzone Releases New F27 Stryker Model!
Still hoping 1 day that kit version will be availiable..with all parts [except electronics} and painted fuselage...many stryker owners cant get the stk servos to hold up//which is just further proof of my opinion that this is a great flying airframe..packaged with mostly cheapo throaway electronics...and for a price of $169.00 {without shipping/taxes} its not a great bargain..compared to lets say a sky-scooter pro2..that comes with hitec hs55 servos and a 72mhz tx/rec setup..all in a RTF package for $99...LETS GO PARKZONE...give consumers a choice..

UPDATE..The best $30 r/c plane you may own
I started a thread a while back about $25 r/c RTF planes { the preserver/the supersonic} ..both of which I felt flew very nicely for the money...of course they both came with nimh flight packs and did not have any type of throttle control other then on/off...well I would like to inform you of an incredible flying RTF r/c plane now avialiable...its called the AEROACE by airhogs and I just bought 1 at toys r us {stk # is 203917 for this plane and you may be better off asking for it that way} these things seem to be flying off the shelf..as there was only 1 left and I bought it to try it out...THIS PLANE ROCKS ..for $30..heres what you get ...A rtf biplane thats made from epp foam..wingspan is an astonishingly small 9" and length is around the same..it comes with a lipo built into the plane...and the charger also charges the lipo...it has 2 thrust differential type motors jus like the other planes mentioned above...but get this,,,it has proportional speed control...it seems to actually have around 5 different speeds controllable by the left joystick {jus like a real r/c setup} turning is still done thru differential..but this plane also has a TRIM SETTING...jus like 72 mhz radio systems...I just came back from my 1st flight..and this thing is a Gem...got around 11 minutes flight..and only needed to stay in the 2nd increment of the motor speed...at that setting the plane flew with authority and did a slow steady climb..I did give it full throttle a few times..but I noticed when doing that it likes to porpoise up and stall { which is what happens to most of these type small r/c planes} it was very relaxing..and I would recommnend this to anyone..keeping in mind it cant handle alot of wind...maybe 5mph tops...of course it so light..even if you do crash it..theres generally no damage..I got 1 flight in tonite..and was able to land in in my hand...check it out...

RE: Parkzone Releases New F27 Stryker Model!
Glacier..you seem cool..with a great sense of humor....and I agree on the length of the flights...I mean ive never heard of anyone getting more then 40 full flights on a cheapo can speed 400 brushed stk/motor...with a 9cell pack..but then again...I will admit I did have a t-hawk..that came with a speed 400 motor..which had many many flights on it..but that was with a 7cell pack..big difference...anyways...Glacier..check out Bishop Power Products,,,,and talk to a guy named Troy..they will beat any advertised price by at least 10%..and have free/fast shipping for anything over $75 I think...heres an example of his great prices...I just ordered some lipo packs...Etec 1700mah-3s -10-12c constant discharge...for $35 a pack...no one I found could match that price ..most are asking between $43-$55 also bought a lipo charger from him for $35...
