RE: MalayAsian Hangar
ORIGINAL: new wing man Guys I believe that this issue can be talked even till the "donkey tries to finds it's way back home" (changed) will not make a difference until the individuals see's their true self in the mirror. To all out there who wants saftey to be enforced (if it needs to) i'm with you guys. LET'S ENJOY THIS HOBBY AND NOT KILL IT BECAUSE OF SOME IRRESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL WHO CARES TO HOOTS FOR OTHERS
BINGO!!

RE: MalayAsian Hangar
ORIGINAL: RottieBoy I throughly agree we should do all we can to limit accidents eg. no fly over people, cars etc is the MINIMAL. I do agree that my "fly at me pull up trick" (yes I am the guilty pilot) is freeking out many people and so I stopped doing it when people are behind me. it's also a good / v. good idea not to turn at people, fly too close to people etc But fact is guys there IS an inherent risk in this hobby. You WILL have close calls now and then and you WILL one day get your finger cut by a prop, WILL have a dead stick and WILL and close to a car, crash, have linkage failures etc etc. We all have to accept this risk - if you don't then it's best to stay at home and play computer games....as for my pull up tricks I know that my plane generates less than 3g in pull up and since I have tested my wing safely to 7gs I know I've got 2x safety margin which is why I take the calcuated risk. In summary, lets minimize all our risks in this hobby to ensure max safety, but lets know go overboard or the ONLY way we'll be flying in clock/anti-clockwise 40m up and 50m away!! and I've been to some clubs where thats basically the only way to fly which is SOOO boring and pointless one might as well give up the hobby. a
Here is the next accident waiting to happen. Just as the newbie who wont listen to others about safety, this guy is doing the exact same thing, just making slipshod excuses which are so unbelieveable. 2x safety margin??? Really???[:'(] You tested your wing to 7G's? Lets see now, 1G is the equivalent of accelerating at 9.81m/s2, so 7G's will be an acceleration of 68.67m/s2, exactly how did you subject your wing to that acceleration? What apparatus did you use? Or is this just an assumption you are making by putting weights on the wing and assuming that you have the equivalent of 7G's? Perhaps you have forgotten real world factors in these assumptions? The actual G's pulled are due to acceleration and not just dead weight multiplied 7 times or whatever. What about your receiver? servos? batteries? switches? antenna? radio? linkages? battery checker? Are all those redundant as well? You have double of everything so that your plane really has a 2x margin of safety?? SAFETY FIRST, EXCUSES NEVER!!!!![:@] Magna has voiced this concern before, and now CaptainGlo, maybe its time you paid attention to his words instead of making excuses to ignore them. Anytime a plane is heading to the pits at high speed or prop hanging close to people it is hazardous. Nuff said. Most people should see you strange change in tune from calling for safety to now trying to make it seem unimportant. And your comparison to cars is complete hogwash.None of the highways in Malaysia were designed to be high speed motorways like the autobahn, its not a comparison that is logical. Be honest with yourself and everyone else, and do whats safe, its something we all need. Cheers

RE: Help me choose another 3d plane
Hello, if I was you I'd visit a few flying sites to see some 3D planes in action and talk to the pilots directly or maybe e download some videos. That will give you a much better idea. Different people have different preferences, so it is not easy to make recommendations via the net. Frankly I would be careful to choose a plane ONLY based on comments here in RCU. Some members which I have seen flying, post a lot of stuff here about Wing loadings, 3D capabilities, etc to recommend a plane, but when it comes down to the practical, the flying part, I start to wonder where this so called expertise all of a sudden has gone... [:(] But hack, it is a free world, isn't it? [:D]

RE: FLITON EDGE 540 FREESTYLE they did it again
How about the buit quality? Is it better than the FL Extra? That one didn't impress me that much...

RE: Fliton Extra 330 Freestyle Who's Got One?
Hey there, I was also interested in a Fliton once. It looks certainly good on paper, but during a business trip to Malaysia last year I had the chance to witness the plane in action. First of all the built quality seemed not that good. It appeared a bit flimsy and the guy flying it had problems with a hatch coming off all the time. Also the flying chracteristics didn't impress me that much (i think it had a Saito .82 in it), but that one is a bit harder to judge since the guy who was flying the plane couldn't really handle the plane that well. I wasn't really sure if that was due to the lack of flying skills or the plane itself but at he end I decided to go for an Aeroworks Edge, which is a proven model. Regards, Brian
