RE: Huge price drop on VXL setup!
ORIGINAL: NITROHOLICS ANONYMOUS why have they dropped the price? is it gonna last? I hope/reckon it will continue to drop and be affordable in a stampede for me after christmas(Hopefully post xmas sale will bear fruit[:D])
Well they still need to keep it expensive enough to the point where buying the RTR Stampede brushless version seems like a better deal than a new stock stampede/new VXL setup.

RE: POST A PIC OF YOUR DRIFTER THREAD!!!!!!!!!
ORIGINAL: redeyes [link=http://www.rare-earth-magnets.com/]rare earth magnets[/link]
Thanks, what kind of magnetic setup should I get? I was thinking about getting the ring shape. I could use an adhesive on the body with two rings under the hood or something, and two rings around the posts with clips under it to adjust the ride height. And same for the rear.

I might purchase a really expensive body and its just gonna be for show. So I don't wanna poke holes into it, is there any other way to mount the body securely? I remember seeing someone using magnets?

RE: mamba max 6900 on the way
I actually have the 5700, but let me tell you its fast. I'm geared 19/86, on MOABs, aluminum idler, bearings, all that stuff... I flip a lot, whether from wheelies, or from turning to sharp, but whats cool is that half the time I flip back over onto all fours. I think that has to do my low ride height.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
ORIGINAL: Hiaboo So I just got a mamba 5700 on my pede.. SICK FAST OMG! lol.. Yeah so that's over with. I have this STUPID freaking annoying thing - If I run the pede, say.. 75 feet away from me, it starts glitching and stops, wtf? then I walk about 20 feet to it, and try it again, it works normally. Radio issue?? It worked perfectly before the upgrade, I could go like 500 feet (down the road but its probably like 300 feet) without any problems.. I'll swap out the radio with another unit I have tomorrow, but I'm just wondering if anybody ever experienced this? ALSO I'd like to add that I went to a parking lot down near a pond where I run my boats, no problems at all but again at that lot I didnt really go past 75 feet. THEN I went to another parking lot (a huge one) to open 'er up but again I cant get past 75 so I cant see how fast its on top. The settings on here is all default, factory settings, I made sure it was through the castle link software.. Will definately have to do the wide pede setup on this thing, and add some sort of weight up front..!
Yeah I got mine installed like 2 days ago.. its ST00p1d fast!!! Yeah I'm having the same glitching problems, but mine is most likely caused by all the houses surrounding the street I'm running on. When I go to an open area like a construction site, I don't really have any problems with radio glitching. But does anyone have a problem with it glitching/cogging right when you pull the throttle to accelerate, but then it goes straight to normal after you take off?

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
ORIGINAL: hands without shadows
ORIGINAL: IBrakeForNobody I haven't been Pede'n in a while, but back when the XL-5 and Mamba Max didn't exist and the Novak SS5800 was the king (yeah, now you know I'm outdated), the Reedy Quad Mag 19T spec was one of the higher end brushed motors that you could get. You don't have to change pinions if you don't want to, but it would be good to take advantage of the extra torque that a better motor would give you. But if I were you, I'd just run the stocker and save up for a brushless system.
Ah, those were the days, I still have that motor in my pede. The Reedy was awesome for the Pede back then because it had a lot of torque, was pretty fast for its turns, and was about the limit of what the xl-1 would run. With the xl-5 the limit is 15 turns and it will run a 15 easily. Most people like the Orion SV2 15t now.
Yeah I remember those days too, I had a Pede with a 19t Reedy Quad Mag, and a bunch of blue RPM parts on it, and I thought I was all up to date and stuff. Went muddin' with the Pede too lol, thing was kinda fun. Then I burnt out the motor and I didn't know what to do then... but I still have it. Its in a shoe box filled with burnt non-working motors, fried ESC's, stripped spurs and pinions, and all kinds of broken parts from my different kinds of RC's I've had over the years... But man I just got back from a bash session just outside, and I tightened my slipper a little so now I can wheelie. And I couldn't even get the thing to top speed cause of the lack of space... I was thinking of doing the jato wide pede mod, but I kinda like trying to keep it from rolling over, and when it does roll over, its cool when it rolls back onto the four wheels, and it brings a smile to my face knowing I don't have to walk over there to flip it back over hahaa. RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD
ORIGINAL: jameshellis Whoa, tonight I was just bashing my pede in the backyard and as it got dark I could see a bright spark in the side of the engine and then I could smell electic burn [:'(]. I have noticed that my pede has been lacking power in the last couple of runs. It is the XL-5, Titan 12T 550 model. Any advice on what the problem is? I have never cleaned the engine because I don't know how, could this be the problem? Where can I find the instructions on how to clean it? I have not seen anything about this on swami or misbehavin or on this crazy long thread [:)].
Does the motor still work? Maybe you fried the motor or the esc... that burning smell is not a good thing... And yeah you should keep the motor lubbed and clean..

Stripped grub screw on pinion?
My friend stripped his grub screw on the pinion. This was on a SS4300 brushless motor. What should he do in this situation?
ORIGINAL: Almighty ODST have fun...I remember my first time I didn't know what to expect and I floored it in my garage which thankfully has slick floors. The tires balooned like no other and it just sat there not getting traction at all. then I took it out and was amazed. i hope I get that feeling again after driving a stinger for a month. haha the mambas in the shop ):
Yeah man I just got back from my little session on the street.. thing is super fast, but my court is just not big enough to really open it up.. I got some cogging issues though.. But I always do when I'm close to other houses.. cant wait to take it to the construction site.. And is it normal for the ESC and motor to be really hot, like you cant put your finger on it for more than 2 seconds hot, for the first time running it?
