RE: Took the baja out in the rain today...Clutch slipping.
ORIGINAL: IloveMYxt2 I would imagine all that heat and friction from the clutch shoes would dry the water real quick if its not submerged in water.
Yeah, that's kind of why I figured it was from water in the clutch; After awhile of giving it just enough throttle for the clutch to engage it would start going again - Drying the water out and it gets to where its not slipping anymore. Took out again today and it ran fine untill I ran it through the water again. Ran it around the yard for about five minutes, ran perfectly, mud is always so much fun, but after running it through a couple puddles is started to do it again. Made sure to be pretty observant of what everything's doing when it's not going. Like I had thought, the clutch is engaging but slipping on the bell. The shoes looked good and the bell looked like it had a pretty good surface before I ran it yesterday, but I guess it may need a sanding if this isn't a known problem.

RE: YOUR LONGEST ROAD TRIP?
Longest road trip was about 2500 miles there and back. Starting here in Dallas, and round about eventually finding our way to Milwaukee, WI. Same thing back.

I don't know if it's engaging. It might be engaging but just slippings against the wall of the bell, but then it may be not engaging at all...[8|]

RE: PC upgrade finally...
ORIGINAL: Ttam Says Blarg
ORIGINAL: DarkFire989 I know that. And I dont get why EVERYONE hates dell? My XPS laptop has been always perfect.
I have been through a couple of them and they were not great. Never bought anything high end from them though. Just a couple of laptops and desktops and all of them have ended up broken. Dont even get me started on there foreign customer support. Just kind of anti dell. I love Hp and apple.
Congratulations. I hate them both [:@] No offense against you, but I've had nothing but bad experiences with both of them. One of my HP's will just shut off from overheating after being in use for more than about an hour. Doesn't hibernate, doesn't shut down, doesn't give you a warning; Just shuts off ridding you of all your unsaved files. Established that it was a motherboard problem, sent it in to HP, they established it was a motherboard problem, then sent it back saying thats not covered in the warranty because it HAS to of been something I did that caused it. Whatever, I'd rather get a new laptop than pay $700 to have that piece of crap fixed. Got another HP. Motherboard went out on it too. And, again, HP wouldn't cover it. Then there's Apple. All my apples have just fallen apart, lol. Touch pad stops working, keys fall off, screen hinges come loose so that the screen jsut falls down...Not to mention I just hate Apple's OS. I'm a Windows guy [:)] First Dell was a latittude series. Best thing ever untill my friend stepped on it and split the motherboard in half. Still works but you have to stop and bend it back together every now and then, or else it'll lose all it's crammed together connections and shut off. New laptop is the Precision M6400. Amazing piece of machinery and haven't had a problem yet. Great graphics, tons of hard-drive space (for a laptop), uber-fast...

RE: Wow, this section is DEAD...
Posting links to other forums, especially with the intention of deverting traffic away from RCU, is prohibited. RCU is a business guys, with the intention of making money. I mean, think about it. If you owned a business would you allow customers to come and sit in your lobby and tell everyone that comes in that you'll find better business elsewhere? No. Sorry guys.

Took the baja out in the rain today...Clutch slipping.
Well, certain parts of my back yard are under about 6 inches of water right now, and still rising, so I figured it'd be the perfect time to break out the baja. Wrong, lol. Less than a minute after starting it up it slowed down to inching forward, even when the engine was at full throttle. Brought it in, let it rest for a couple mins, then fired it up and lifted the wheels off the ground. They still barely moved, then a little faster, then a little faster, and eventally back to around full speed. Set it down, ran it back into the yard, and after running through a couple puddles, Same thing. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. Came to the consensus that my problem was caused by water getting in the clutch bell and causing the shoes to slip. Agree or no? Anyone else had this problem? Anyway to prevent it in the future?
ORIGINAL: DarkFire989 I know that. And I dont get why EVERYONE hates dell? My XPS laptop has been always perfect. Went through two HP laptops before moving to Dell. Never going back.

'89 Ford Ranger, a little over 280k miles. I think my dads ('08 Suburban) is at around 50k, and my moms ('07 Nissan Murano) 30k. The really old and the relatively new. Go figure.

Probably a quarter of the people on here found the place while looking for how to fix their RC, or looking for RC's on a search engine, and got completely submersed into our world. They most likely don't visit any other forums but this one, and if you havn't noticed, this forum sticks to a pretty proper format.
