RE: Hunter 69
Hi rebel, i had seen that page some time ago, but is too far from me to buy a big hull, that's why I took the hunter here in europe, anyway that in the pic is their fountain, nice boat but too narrow and has a very small transom in my opinion, but they have a magnificent Outerlimits hull, the 70" SV, and also stepped, i think if someone was selling it here in europe would make the real deal!! Well, mhz is almost to launch their new lucas oil hull, in 1,5 metres size, we all know that one of the lucas oil boats is an outerlimits, so maybe mhz guessed what boaters wanted, we shall see, the release date is end of October. Well, they have only one and is defective, so goodbye arrowshark[:)] About mhz Usa,be careful, do not buy from them, Shirley told me that Mhz Usa does not work anymore, more than a year, they are not able to delivery MHZ parts anymore, if you want them you will have to take it in Germany, but no problem, they ship worldwide. RE: Hunter 69
Yes Mart, i'll be very happy if i reach 50 mph with this big beast, and more happy if i do it with cheaper motors, i'm not going to spend over 1000 € for 2 lehner 3060, that's for sure, ive seen big boats like popeyes (1.65 m long) runing very fast with 2 leopard 5692 10s conf, also on offshoreelectrics ther's a guy building a big mhz cat, the biggest (over 2.4 metres and 32 kgs) and in his second test he's using TP 5850 9D 820KV, german motors i think (200€) and running very fast, so i think that is posible. My big problem is the running time. Regards

About low prices, have a look at this new big brushlees motor from turnigy, seems a very powerfull monster http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24853__Turnigy_AquaStar_T20_3T_730KV_1280KV_Water_Cooled_Brushless_Motor.html

Thanks Mart, yes, you're right, as i said in another forum, the inside will be completely isolated with a plexiglas mod. About the power, i will start with a 10s conf. Can you tell me something about the motor you're talking about, the 5694, what will be the price? It's similar to this one, with water cool included? http://www.horracing.com/product_info.php?cPath=46_70&products_id=587 thanks. Regards

RE: MHZ Gearbox oil orWhat lube ?
Hi, i have the 1572 Gear Box with Square Shaft and i also use the 20W 50 car engine oil, but i did a little mod, and one of the problems i have is that the oil comes out, maybe I should buy the ""Rubber Cuff Set f. Gearbox 1570 / 1571"" to solve this, what do you think? Regards

RE: New Boat New Challenge!
What boat have you bought? I'm doing the same but this time i'm going electric, it's a scale replica of a fountain 38 race boat with all the details, also will mount mhz z-drives (alu. model) mercruiser trims etc. will have even opening of the engine compartment (hydraulic arm or linear servo), the boat i'm using is the mhz hunter. In the apache i have 1 engine twin cyl. and a gearbox and i'm not very happy with the setup, if I were to do it again i will use 2 single motors, this is my opinion, you can always hear what have to say the real experts. RE: Hunter 69
Hi Fridge, thanks for the answer, as i said in another forum, i'm not sick of speed and i will be very happy if this boat reaches 40 or 50 mph, like my gas boats. Since i'm more interested in the run time, i was thinking the same setup as yours and 2 10s 5000 mah pack in parallel for each motor in order to have 10000 mah x motor, how much can i run with it? Someone told me no more than 10 min.[:o] Is this true? I would like to reach at least 15 minutes. Is it possible? Remember the z-drives (eat amps) and the weight of the boat, around 15 kg. Thanks again Fridge. Regards

RE: Apache 84
Thanks guys, i've been busy trying to solve some transmission problems, the flexs are broken, and now i have to wait for the new ones, then i will rebuild the transmission. The guys that race the italian championship have told me that my cooling setup was wrong, i had to use 1 pump for cylinder and exhaust manifold, and the other pump for the second cyl. and exhaust manif. and not "Y" or "T" to share cooling circuit as i had in my old setup, so i solved the problem with this new setup. Bob, first of all, congratulations for your boat. Now, the vibration problem is very strange, i did not have this problem before the mods, the engine mounts are strong and the silent blocks too, the only thing that comes to mind is the gearbox, i have no silents or rubbers on it, maybe this the problem? The steering problem is almost solved, but not 100%, wire system for steerable drives are very difficult to set and adjust, i have to work on the cable tension now. While waiting for the parts of the transmission, i started working on my new project, a hunter, another big boy, but this time will be electric, to many problems running gas boats here in italy. Here are some pics of the boat next to the apache. Regards

RE: Need help with water pump issue
Thanks guys, i solved the issue with a new setup, so i mean, i use 1 pump for cylinder n°1 and its exhaust manifold and the same so another pump for the cyl. n°2, remaining carter cooling and muffler with direct intake, so without pump, like racing boats that don't use clutch. For those who wants to know, the mhz plastic pumps for saltwater are not good, do not work well, i had to use the old ones, mhz metal and walbro, they work fine but with the new setup, no pump worked with the old setup. RE: Need help with water pump issue
Well Matho, still confused, but just to clarify, why i should disassemble the "Insolator" when i've already said that works well with the old pumps? (mhz metallic & walbro), i may disassemble the plastic pumps first and check it before disassemble other parts that work well. I did not even know that hobbyking makes water pumps, i don`t know the stuff that sells because I've never bought from them, i was convinced that these pumps were good quality like most of mhz parts, so i remain surprised, anyway, you don't have to treat me like a fool, i'm not a fool, i was only confused. Ok nieto, 'll test it tomorrow, the only problem is the diameter of the outputs that are larger than the actual pumps, but in some way will do it. Thanks Regards

RE: Need help with water pump issue
Hi Matho, it seems that i don't understand you, what do you mean insulator? maybe I confused with "isolatore" (in italian) that is between carb and cyl. and has only one, like i said, so insulator must be another thing... i'm going to ask someone that knows a little more english than me. The pumps are mhz, not hobbyking, these are the plastic ones, for saltwater, i also have another mhz metallic, and another walbro water pump, that were installed before, maybe better than these.

RE: Need help with water pump issue
Hi Matho, the water pickup is down the hull, near the transom. In the video the water was picked up from a big pail of water. Big or th small bore? Where? the insulator has only one, the pumps has 3 and they are all the same size.

Hunter 69"
Hello guys, i finally decided and took this hull that is a long time that I wanted. Mart, from waveriders models, told me some time ago why not try an electric? So i'm thinking to do it, i know that this is a very big boat but someone has already done it (video) so why not try myself. I had seen some motors arround, but my main target is the running time, here in italy i was advised to use brushed motors to have greater running times, becouse brushless have more power consumption, what do you think? What kind of setup do you think is better for this boat? Consider that i will mount z-drives on it. Here are some pics. Thanks Regards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z5A1ll-Uds

RE: Need help with water pump issue
Thanks again guys, here are some pics that may be can help. Nieto, i do't think that that could be the problem, i tell you becouse with the old setup they work fine, the old setup was one pump for each cyl. but no pump for carter, only direct intake, but doesn't like this way. The way is connected now is how all the s520 users done. Matho tell me if these pics can help or what exatly you want to see, i allways used the standard way to connect them, i don't understand the way you are talking about, sorry but i'm not an expert like you, maybe a pic can help me. I was thinking to put the pumps closer to the engine, you know, the first pics shows the original tube thats comes with the water pumps, and these are to short, so to use them i should approach the pumps to the motor. What do tou think? Thanks Regards

Thanks Regards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfwh3b35MD8 Mart, i'm going to check if he is back from vacation, he told me that he wanted the boat.

Need help with water pump issue
Hello guys, today i started up the engine to check water cooling and find a disaster, it seems that the pumps are not strong enough to push more water, i'm using 2 mhz water pumps, the plastic ones that are recommended for saltwater, the water pumps outlets are smaller than the standard ones, can this be the problem? Here are 2 little videos, at the end of the second video you will see how many water comes out of the boat outlets, please help me, thanks.
