3W Mustang CG
Can anyone tell me what the CG is on a 3W P-51 Mustang? This is the large one with the 112" wing span. Thanks.

How many times has this happened to you?
You just spent hours priming or painting your aircraft, then finish meticulously cleaning your spray gun, only to see that you forgot to spray some small piece! Doooh! Did it again today.

RE: Wife was NOT amused . . .
I had no idea my attempt at a bit of humor would have had such a response. Thanks for everyones' comments. Lots of fun! BTW, my wife is awesome. Not only beautiful and a great mom, but a great R/C wife, as well.

Wife was NOT amused . . .
Took the family on a beach vacation to Captiva Island. When my twin 4 year olds excitedly told mommy about the "sand castle" they and daddy built, the wife was not particularly amused.

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
It's very simple, Lawrence. While pushing the blue "ring" in toward its black housing, gently pull the tube out. To reconnect the tube, simply push it back in to the blue ring until you feel a slight click. When putting the tube back in, do not push the blue ring in as you did when removing the tube.

RE: 3W Bearcat Build - Oh Yeah!
Thanks Steve. Mine is the larger Bearcat. I think it is like 108" or around there. I have no experience flying or seeing the 88" version. The larger one flies beautifully, though.Personally, prefer the large aircraft.

RE: 3W Bearcat Build - Oh Yeah!
I'm flying mine with a 250 which is virtually the same weight. All up weight may be around 20kg, but I doubt much more. I have not weighed mine.

RE: 12 O'Clock High Pics?
Neither went in! Both returned safely back to base. The bipe barely made it back as the wings with severed flying wires literally began oscelating up and down pretty dramatically. The pilot did a great job not panicking and setting her down perfectly. The P-47 was virtually undamaged and the pilot waited for the bipe to safely land before bringing the P-47 down. There was a bit of carnage at the event, but this was not one of the incidents.

RE: 12 O'Clock High Pics?
Hey, That's my Bearcat!!! thanks for the pics, crazystick. Pilot participation was less than for Monster Planes and the other great FTE events, but it was an incredibly good time and beautifully pulled off by Frank and Company. Friday night dinner at Winghouse was really terrific. I think the smaller turnout may be most attributable to the time of year; perhaps being close to the holidays, but I am hopeful that this even will catch fire just like the rest. A truly great time it was.

12 O'Clock High Pics?
I was flying at the event last week, but would love to see any pics taken. It was another great Frank Tiano production. Lot's of fun, lot's of comradery and lot's of great flying.

RE: What options do I have for building a large scale Bearcat?
3W Bearcat was the way to go for me. Mine is equipped with a Moki 250. 108" wingspan and between 40 and 50 pounds. I have never weighed her. Without question, the best flying warbird I have ever flown. Not for the novice builder however. Virtually no instructions.

I'm about to get one too. Reading with GREAT interest, considering I hear that the instruction manual is a little light on details (and paper).

I know this is really narcasistic, but I just had to post these fantastic flight shots of the Bearcat, taken by David Hart, at last moth's Monster Planes event in Lakeland, Florida. Great pics, David, and thanks for sending them to me.

That's a coincidence, Gary. I was VERY sick the week before MP and started on antibiotics the Monday of MP week. I was still feeling a bit woozy even at MP. Get better soon.

RE: CARF F4U-1 Corsair build thread
I know how you feel, Gary. We ALL do, since we have ALL lost prized aircraft. Truth is, the extreme highs we get from being successful in this hobby are what makes this hobby so addicting and fulfilling. When we do hit the lows, and believe me I have been there with my Bearcat and others before her, bouncing back with a full repair if possible, or an even better finished next model, give a sense of pride and achievement not commonly found in many other endeavors in life. So, finish up with your morning the old corsair, and turn your attention to the new. That is the best medicine.

Does anyone have any feedback on the Bambula 32 x 18 laminated prop, marketed by TBM as specifically for the Moki 250?

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
Hello Jack. Yes, the pump tube should be plugged. I used a piece of 2-56 push rod wire. This is on strong recommendation from Gotz Vogelsang. I took his advise and my 250 runs very reliably. Good luck.
