Oh, that looks nice. Would love to see some big experimental heavies on the battlefield.

I agree. It would be nice to have all the build threads conglomerated in one place, easy to check, easy to update.

[quote]ORIGINAL: Tanque I'm sure that cutting torch operation at ~9.28 into the video was to render the main gun inoperative. Sad to have to mutilate it so. Ah, but I doubt they had any way to register for legal possession, or simply did not want to go through that.

National WWII Museum Visit
Been busy since I got back with school starting and whatnot. Anyway, I need to go ahead and get these pictures up from my second visit to the museum. I have to say they have already added a bit, and are adding even more! This time they had a new restoration building with large glass walls so you could watch the restoration in progress (higgins boat in right now). I went on a "White Glove Wednesday" , which has a curator out with full uniforms and equipment for him to tell you about, which you can fully handle, put on. I askeed him about what he thought of the sherman and pershing compared to other nations armor, etc. He told me the Sherman, Stuart, and C-137 they have were all bought off ebay and all run (the c-137 was flown down, disassembled and put in the museum), and that the front windows are large doors so they can drive the equipment down to the warehouse when they want to switch out displays. I thought that was pretty awesome. Anyway, here I go... One last thing. Never used this camera before, so I did not realize how to set most things. Sorry for the blurry shots, tried to keep it as steady as possible, and deleted most of the really bad stuff. http://imgur.com/a/zM47r#0 oops, almost forgot. The next building will hold a b-29 and a submarine!

RE: Need help with Russian S-51 need input guys ;)
Here is the chassis, and both gun models from world of tanks, in .obj: dl.dropbox.com/u/29288971/S-51.zip Note that they are all seperate files. I did not include the tracks as I did not think you would need them. I would suggest getting a kit of the B4 on its carriage, using that for reference when building it, then using a kv-1 hull and building it into a kv-1s. Use the world of tanks models as only a rough guide.

Here is the english page: http://wiki.worldoftanks.eu/S-51 It was indeed never put into service. Found a picture: http://wiki.worldoftanks.eu/images/3/3b/S51_pic1.jpg Unfortunately like many other prototype vehicles it can be quite hard to find any info on it.

RE: The Tanker's Lounge
I haven't done much in the past few days, just need to wire it up right now. Will work on it more tomorrow, but leaving for vacation tuesday. I am pretty sure a gun lock would be doable. The barrels look great! I personally have a small sample of yellow PLA that came with the kit, but bought a big reel of black abs for most stuff.

RE: 'White Tiger'
Well now you got me interested. Here is the synopsis from the movie site: "The Second World War comes to an end. Severe protracted battles harassed by both sides. But the more confidently advancing Soviet forces, the more often on the battlefield there is a huge impregnable German tank "White Tiger". Inevitably arises in the smoke of battle, he ruthlessly shooting the enemy and suddenly disappears. No one can confidently neither confirm nor deny its existence. However, the Soviet command decides to fight with him to create a special tank - a special model of the T-34. crew of this tank is headed by a person of unusual fate - almost completely burned in the battle, doomed to death of tank commander, who unexpectedly survived and returned to duty.He does not know his name, does not remember the past, but finds a surprising ability to understand the language of the tanks. He is sure - there is an elusive German tank and must be destroyed, because the White Tiger - is the embodiment of war, its horror and blood. hunt for a mystical creature begins. Who will win this fight? Not deviating from the documentary evidence, and turning to historical personages (Zhukov, Hitler, Keitel), directed at the same time adds to the narrative elements of mysticism, and enriches our understanding of war as an eternal struggle between good and evil. film "The White Tiger "is a major international project in which the main role performed by famous Russian and German actors." So, some almost supernatural or supermachine tiger and an almost burn't to death tank commander who can now understand the "language of the tanks"? Honestly sounds kinda weird to me, but tis rare to see a nice tank movie come along.

I know world of tanks did a promotion on the russian server with a "white tiger" which was a insanely buffed tiger P, but that is about it. I think its supposed to be some infamous tiger known just for battle performance or something.

I guess. I do like the level of customization elmod seems to have. I could probably just use the t-34/85 sound set.

RE: Can someone confirm this electronics setup?
Why do they both require expensive cables or something for customization? Bendini needs a 38 euro cable for sound sets, elmod requires a $36 cable or a 99 euro configurator for changing settings, already on top of a 89 euro minimum board.

I just mounted the print bed and some end stop switches. All that is left is to even the bed, mount the board somewhere, then wire everything up. Once that is done I just need to install all the software and start calibrating it.

So could I technically use thinktank with the receiver that came with the dx7, then connect bendini to it for improved sound, and ditch the heng long altogether?
