RE: us41 in byron p51
One other thing to check is the gap between the flywheel and the mag is right. I've found if you place a business card between the mag and the flywheel and hold the mag tight against it and tighten up the mag bolts its just about right.

RE: us41 in byron p51
Got a Q42 with the prop reduction in the same bird. Had similar problem, replaced spark plug and problem solved. Might be worth the investment in a new plug. Mine would fire, but just wouldn't take off and run. Shocked hell out of me, because figured if it was firing the plug had to be good!!

Duh, I wasn't taking the reduction 2.5:1 into consideration when using the tach!! that should be around 2900 to 3100 rpm, guess I'm about right then! Thanks guys.

Byron P51 w/Q42 prop drive
I am interested in knowing what rpms any of you might be getting with Quadra 42 with prop reduction and 4 blade prop on your Byron P51's. I'm using a Fromeco TNC tach and reading on the 2 blade setting is 12875, which I assume you need to divide by 2, about 6435 or there abouts. Any feed back would be appreciated!

Braided Plug wire suppression sheath
Can anyone tell me where I might find some replacement braided plug wire suppression cable. The metal sheath that goes over the plug wire on engines with electronic ignitions. I tried the local NAPA store with no results. Surely it can be purchased at a parts store, if someone had a part number it would be fantastic. Any help would be appreciated.

Fuji BT24 Hard Starting
Does anyone have any experience with a Fuji BT24?? I have one that will start the first time fairly easily. After the first flight it sets for a little while, and you go to fly again, you have to crank your butt off to get it to run. Once started it runs like a top. Can't figure out what might be wrong. Thinking very serciously about electronic ignition, but don't know of anyone making one to fit it. Anybody got any suggestions??

RE: G62 Engine Repair
It will make about 2/3's of a revolution then the flywheel starts dragging on the mag. It looks bent. If its twisted there's no fixing it?? New crank time? Maybe would be less expensive just to put in a new crank. MarvinLoomis

RE: G62 Engine Repair
I too, had a problem with a P-47, and a bent crank, and the P47 is no longer! I would sure like to get the engine fixed. Is there anyone that would straighten a bent crank, or do I have to replace it with a new one. I know C & H used to work on them, but think that they are closed for health reasons. Any ideas? Thanks

Love to see yer B25 sometime when down that way Lyle. Just finished up one myself that I copied some features of yours.

RE: Ziroli B25 101
Finally figured out a way of installing the bombs in the bombay and not take the chance of them damaging any of the mechnics in the belly of the B25. Built a couple of bomb racks that hold the bombs from shifting around and will dump them out when the bombay doors are open. The racks are on the bombay doors and when closed are cradled just below my batteries. Might have to fasten those in a bit better to make sure they dont drop too!!!
