RE: LAST BUILD
The straightest and most beautiful Aerostar 20 you've ever seen... Finish my hobby the way I began it. I love it when things come full circle.

Kadet Senior engine mount
I'm trying to mount a Saito 56 on a Kadet Senior. The supplied engine mounts from SIG, have a brace on each side of the mounting rail that wont clear the needle valve unless the engine is mounted fairly far forward on the beam, about 3/4" forward from what the plans call for. Can I mount the engine this far forward without any negative effect on handling, or can I trim the brace a bit so the needle valve will clear it..? Thanks..!

RE: Flying RC Planes
It's a hobby... I cant really define what a sport is, but I know one when I see one, and I'm sorry folks but flying model airplanes doesn't cut it. I'm sure most athletes would laugh their tails off if you tried to convince them otherwise.

RE: False firewall
Thanks for the replies..! The more I thought about it I'm just going to continue "per the plans" with the stock firewall and keep things simple. I was concerned about the firewall looking like swiss cheese at some point, but I'll cross that bridge if I ever get there... [8D]

False firewall
So I'm building a Kadet Senior, and would like to be able to swap engines in the future. I saw an earlier post that mentioned installing a "false firewall" to make this easier. I'm assuming this is a firewall that mounts to an existing firewall that's epoxied to the airframe. Is this correct and what's the most common way to accomplish this..? Thanks..!

RE: It's 2010 now, where do you see the hobby going this decade?
Glow will be around for a long time. Gas will become more popular. Kit cutting services will grow in popularity due to the lack of full kits. The whole business of this hobby being referred to as a "sport" will thankfully go away. [8|]

RE: White Monokote and Sig
For what it's worth, I ordered a Kadet Senior on 11/25 and recieved it about three weeks later. When I placed the order I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to ship since it was on backorder. I was pleasantly suprised when it showed up early..!
ORIGINAL: outdoorhunting Yea, be a wous, & let the jerk run you out of the park ( it's yours as much as it is his)!!!Is a coward ''the better man?'' Bullies, bully because they can. If you stand up to them, they normally will back down..If you don't, get used to being pushed around your whole life. What goes around-comes around !!!
It sounds to me like this guy was behaving in an erratic manner... be careful. In the movies, the bullies always back down, but in real life you could spend the next eight weeks eating your dinner through a straw.
ORIGINAL: psb667 The weirdest things keep happening to me at the park across the street from my house. A big guy(and im 6ft) hekled me while i was flying when I told him to mind his own business he came over while I was flying and tried to bully me. this isnt a normal occurence plus the guy had to have been at least 30. Please tell me this isnt normal for park flyers.
Did it seem like there was something wrong with him..? Maybe a mental health issue..?

RE: Question - Why do we promote clubs?
Without help, which usually comes from a club, a new modelers chance of failure is very high. Which also means thay will probably walk away from the hobby never to return.
