RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum
ORIGINAL: hrwatson68 I keep breaking tail rotors because I sometimes slide the tail on my living room carpet(still very green and already tried the parking lot training which resulted in trashing a set of main blades and a tail rotor). Is'nt it ok if I put some sort of extension on the tail stick and just balance the weight with the battery location? I was thinking some sort of skid to help the tail slide sideways instead of the fiberglass/carbon rod (I'm not sure of the composition) just poking it's small toothpick sized footprint down into my carpet. Also, any ideas on where to find a servo gear set for the #4? If I move the right stick to the full up/right position on the transmitter, one of the servos will grind and click and you'll see the control surface move up and down accordingly
RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum
Yes i have had the same problem on occasion... flying ok and then all of a sudden WHAM the thing goes off full throttle and takes out the table, wall, pot plants ect... not good for the main blades or anything else for that matter WANNA KNOW HOW I CURED IT... Well it seems that the receiver is not so hot BUT.... if you run the aerial from the box down to the battery pack (where there are 2 convenient lugs for a elastic band) wind it round twice then run it to the back of the chopper to the bottom of the rear stantion. (where it meets the ground) and then back up to the battery pack luggs and wind it up. Leave about 2 inches hanging down. AND IT WORKS A TREAT. I think it is the receiver misinterpreting signals or just plain getting confused... but i have had not reciever or AAARRRGGGHHH full power stuff since i did this. Of course you could have your switches reversed in which case your power off it full power on MAX

RE: HELP.. Dragonfly Walkera
I have not had your problem but i have read many others that have and the problem is in the twist of the blades. They are probably laying too flat. All you need to do is to get hold of the ends of each main blade and twist them anticlockwise to give more lift. So if holding your blades one in the right one in the left.. your right hand should roll forwards and your left backwards. Hold that for a few seconds and the twist will increase the pitch of the blades. Normally works but dont do it too hard or you could snap something Max

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum
I will give setting the trim to center before turning on a go... hadnt thought of that. I have played around with the screw in the gyro and lots track... it just seems to go round and around never hitting a stop. Is that right??? Anyone know about the setting for this?? I will probably take it to bits to have a look and maybe replace with a better unit, i am going to replace the servos anyway due to lots of chatter which obviously doesnt help MAX

RE: Walkera #4 Fixed Pitch Helicopter Forum
Hi All, anyone got any ideas on fixing my tail rotor problem. Basically i have to have full left trim on in order to get a straight flight and even then it still turns left a bit. I though it might be the gyro mixing so i have played around with the 1 screw in the receiver and no luck. I have lost track on the amount of turns now so cant get it back to center as it seems to just go round forever. I was thinkin of putting smaller blades on the rear that would possibly solve the problem on cut some off the original What do you think.. or has anyone solved this problem BOB
