RE: Can RTR Be Competitive
The very short answer is, 'Yes'. Truthfully, whether you purchase an RTR or a kit, there are a few things that MUST be done before you can even THINK about competing in ANY type of race. As noted before, examples of these things include tires and suspension. I agree with proanti1 that it depends on the individual's definition of the term 'race', and I also agree with DaveG55 that 'RTR' means 'Ready-To-Run' (for the most part) and not necessarily to the gimmick referral that some companies use, that is, 'Ready-To-Race'. Finally, as has been stated COUNTLESS times before, racing is 90% driver and 10% car. A pro with an RTR vehicle will ALWAYS do MUCH better than a newbie with the most expensive kit. It's as simple as that. There's absolutely nothing with wanting the 'best'. However, there is NO 'best' when it comes to RC vehicles. If there were, there would be no need for so many manufacturers and everyone would have the same vehicle(s). Just my opinion.

RE: Need Help!! clutch problems
First of all, the Infinity is a 1/10 scale truck and not a 1/8 scale truck. Secondly, you CAN upgrade from a two-pronged flywheel to a three-pronged flywheel. You can use http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c00-081062.html (flywheel) and http://www.nitrorcx.com/51c00-81202.html (clutch shoes), and http://www.nitrorcx.com/mad-en0004.html (clutch springs) if necessary. Hope this helps .

RE: mad warrior .28
To answer your first question, yes, there are people that own the Exceed RC MadWarrior truggy on these forums. To answer your second question, alot of people say that this brand sucks because of the experiences of a FEW people and the EARLIER 1/10 scale Exceed RC models. Many of the people that say that Exceed RC doesn't have good models have never owned or possibly ever seen one. That being said, Exceed RC uses rebadged versions of vehicles from other manufacturers. In the earlier stages, they sold rebadged HSP vehicles but now sell rebadged Nanda Racing vehicles, which are of a higher quality. ANY RC model from ANY manufacturer will have its pros and cons, as well as their fans and haters. Many RC enthusiasts seem to have developed an elitist attitude whereby they start to believe and give others the opinion that, 'you must buy expensive to have good quality'. This is not true, and in many cases, regarding new hobbyists, is akin to giving a new driver a McLaren F1 as a first car. Also, I honestly do not see the merit in owning a US$3000 vehicle that is only being bashed or raced at a club level. My suggestion is, and will always be, purchase what YOU LIKE and what YOU CAN AFFORD and HAVE FUN. Also, feel free to check the Exceed RC section of the forums. Remember, it's a hobby and it's all about enjoyment .

RE: Do Chicks Dig Radio Control Model Cars?
ORIGINAL: Automan My fiancé like driving rc cars (not my latest lipomonsters, they are just to wild and scary according to her), but she likes filming me when i drive. I gave her not long ago a slash platinum 4x4 with a 1:8 tekin engine, and she loves that car and drives the hell out of it when she drives it.. poor car ;) but service the car is up to me, as she aint very interrested in doing that. So my girlfriend is ok and all is well, but now and then she just starts laughing when i talk to much about my cars/helis and their upgrades.... i guess she have her limit of information with rcstuff ;)
I can wholeheartedly agree with you Automan. My girlfriend is all about the bashing/racing aspect of the hobby, and I plan to get her a 1/8 nitro buggy and a 1/8 nitro MT of her own as soon as I can . However, when it comes to maintenance, she's very content to sit down and watch me while I work . All is well though since, although she has her limit, she still participates with and is supportive of me in this hobby (and she doesn't think that they're just 'toys' either ). I support her and she supports me, and we both still have our own personal things. By the way, my girlfriend is fond of certain genres of video games, including fighting, sports, racing, action/adventure and first-person shooter .

My third and final suggestion is the Redcat Racing Goliath Series, after the largest man in the Philistine army that went to war against King David and Israel. Suggestions for the individual vehicles are the Redcat Racing Goliath Buggy, Redcat Racing Goliath Truggy and Redcat Racing Goliath SC. 'Spear and Shield' decals could be used for the theme, where the spear represents power and the shield represents durability.

In 'Home Alone 3', the main character uses an RC truck to do some damage to the villains. On a side note, I still think that 'Home Alone 2' was the best in the seies . Common flies an RC helicopter in 'Just Wright'. Also, although it's not a movie, the main character flies an RC helicopter in the beginning of an episode of 'The Mentalist'.

RE: ofna 1/8 nitro buggy
I agree with bigdogkanicsar whole-heartedly. I believe that people sometimes lose sight of what it was that really brought them into this hobby, that is, the FUN. In my opinion, it is not necessary to buy one of the 'high-end' kits unless you're planning to compete at a 'high-end' level. However, that is not to say that you don't buy what you like and what you want. My problem is when those that have forgotten their roots try to tell others that the 'need' to have kit from 'Brand X' because it is 'the best'. There is no 'best' in anything, only what is 'best for you', and the only person that knows the vehicle that would be best for you is YOU. Step 1, learn about your choices beforehand and make an informed decision regarding your purchase(s). Step 2, take time to study the vehicle and other items that you have purchased. Step 3, and most important, GO OUT AND HAVE FUN. Too many people, I think, forget this part. Truth is, having the most expensive and 'fastest' vehicle in ANY type of racing means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when driving skill and heart are lacking. Just my opinions...
