RE: KINGTECH X JETCAT X JETCENTRAL X WREN
Jose, I'm not saying it's better than the other brands but my flying buddy has a Yellow Aircraft F-22 with the K-170 in it with over 15 hours of flight time on it. When he flies his throttle position is wide open. A gallon and a half later he lands. He does not baby this engine at all. I spot for him when he flies so this is not hearsay. Bob

RE: Flaps
If you are trying to push the flaps beyond what the hinges will allow then you are straining the servo. When you are setting them up restrict the travel to some small amount using End Points then gradually increase the travel until you get to the mechanical limit or to the position you want. The way a servo works is it keeps trying to get to the commanded position. It does this by increasing the current going to the motor to try to get it to move. Eventually, the servo gets to the point that it cannot take any more current and the motor burns out.

RE: Llow time turbines for sale - Beware
ORIGINAL: i3dm
ORIGINAL: FalconWings I would never buy a P70, period. I put it in there right on top of Jet Joe and well under a RAM 500. I do hear that JetCat has an Android App that will let you text directly to your ECU to let it know to spool up. Great thing a obout P70 though, you don't need to shut them down, they do it on their own very reliably. Sorry about your issues, been there.
All of the P-70s i owned and seen have been 110% reliable and never had a flame out as long as they had fuel. i wonder why you would find those results.
I personally know of three P-70's, one is mine the other two belong to one of my flying buddies, that heve never been to Jetcat for anything other than 25 hour check ups.

RE: Llow time turbines for sale - Beware
Mike, Some stainless steels are resistant to Rust but not totally rust proof. I believe they are classified as "Martensitic Steels". However, if they are to be used in bearings they have to be able to be hardened so they must have some carbon content. This is what makes them susceptible to rusting. Bob

RE: Answers for the Jet Event CD
ORIGINAL: AndyAndrews If I were CD of a jet rally, the only props I would allow are tubine powered ones. The only electrics allowed would be EDF jets. Foamie for fun electric props and helis would be allowed after the Jet guys are finished flying. No gas or nitro would be allowed at all. Basically the same rule that nearly all jet rallys I go to encourage.
I'm with Andy on this. Up here in the northeast the only time we get to fly turbines is at Jet meets. Most of the guys I know don't like extended half time shows because it cuts into their flying time. Bob

RE: BOOMERANG ELAN - New Build & Setup Thread!
I guess I'm second guessing myself after reading that everyone is putting the weight towards the rear. I previously had an Elan and put the A123's under the equipment tray between the air tanks. The fuel pump was in the rear behind the fuel tank along with the Jetcat Lipo. It seemed to fly alright. Sorry I got rid of it that's why I picked this one up. Bob

RE: BOOMERANG ELAN - New Build & Setup Thread!
I recently acquired a very slightly used Elan. I am putting a P80SE in it, dual A123 2600 packs, with the standard JetCat 2500mah Lipo. It looks like the previous owner may have had batteries alongside the equipment tray. Should they be mounted to the rear in the wheel well area? The previous owner also had a P80SE in it. Thanks! Bob

Not everyone can afford $10,000.00 for a plane. That's why the "REST" of the manufacturers survive.

+1 Bring back the Reviews by Olivier Nicolas. Everything you could possibly want to know about a Turbine, and somethings you didn't know you wanted to know, written without bias. (not that the current reviews are written with bias) Bob
