RE: Carry Bag For Slash 4x4
You could build a box... That way you could design it to hold what you need, and make it what ever size suits you. Personally, I take 2 boxes to the track. My T4 with the wheels off goes in first, along with a cooling fan, Tx, and even a couple extra wheels if needed. Next a false bottom goes in. Then my B4, again with wheels removed, along with a folding car stand, and any tires I feel I need for the day. Finally, a pit mat, and an extra towel. This is what I take to the track You could incorporate tools, charger, batteries, spare parts and so on, to fit your needs. Just a suggestion.

RE: These any good (quality wise)?
I have the smaller lugged ones, just received them a couple weeks ago. They have 5 packs on them, and so far, they appear to be quite durable, and seem to hold the track well. Even as the track went away later in the day. Can't beat them for the price. I'll pick up another set without a second thought. New to Lipo... need a charging crash course!
Hey guys, I need a lesson on charging Lipos... I received my shipment from Hobbyking, now I need to figure out how to use it. I picked up the Trunigy Accucell 6, and a couple Zippy 25c 4000's to power my 1/8 conversion project. I read through the instructions, but I'm not sure what they're telling me. lol Do I need to balance the packs for their first charge? Will the charger automatically shut off when they are fully charged, or do I have to set a stop point? Stuff like that, and anything you might think I need to know would be great! Could someone that has this charger run down the setup, and charging procedure for me? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Mike De

RE: Tell/Show me your HAULER BAG please...
First off, I must correct myself.. This box is made out of mahogany. (my memory is a little cloudy, I built a table out of cherry. I knew I used cherry for something. lol) Dimentions of this box, outside are 19" x 13" x 11 5/8" tall. I think it started out being 12" tall, I built it as a solid box, then cut the top off on the table saw. Next, I cut 1/4"x 1/4" rabbits on the outside of the bottom, and the inside of the top to make the top and bottom fit together when the box is closed. It's made out of 1/2" material, so the inside is 18"x12" x about 10 1/2" The bottom is 1/4" ply set in a dado that's about 5/8" up from the bottom edge of the sides. The top is 1/2" ply with a 1/4" rabbit cut all the way around, so it fits in a dado on the sides to make the top face of the ply, the same height as the sides. I added legs inside, for the false bottom to sit on, from some scrap I had laying around. The false bottom itself is also 1/4" ply. I would say that the inside dimentions are the most important, so keep that in mind if you're planning on doing the dovetail joints. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. I'm planning one for my 1/8 buggy, but haven't got it completly worked out in my head yet. Stay tuned. Mike De

RE: Tell/Show me your HAULER BAG please...
Thank you Tommygun32, I appreciate the compliment! The box started out as a hauler for my "Monster Beetle" way back when. I added the false bottom to be able to handle the T4/B4, since there was enough room for both. I didn't really pay attention to it until I posted the photos here, but boy that box is really beat up! lol However, it serves the purpose, and has adapted to the newer r/c's nicely. I liked the dovetail look, and durability so much, I actually purchased a jig for home use! (years later, of course) :) Oh, and yes, I did get the A.

RE: Tell/Show me your HAULER BAG please...
here's what I use... It's a box I made out of cherry way back in highschool woodshop. It's held up so far, and I'm close to 20 years of using it. I run 1/10 scale electric stuff, and from the photos, you can see my procedure for packing up my B4 and T4 to hit the track. T4 goes in first(with wheels off), along with transmitter, and a cooling fan. "false bottom" goes in next Then the B4, again, without wheels installed, a foldable work stand and, a couple sets of wheels. Next is the pit mat, and a towel Here are the two items I take to the track, they hold everything I need short of maybe a main chassis for each vehicle. RE: 1/8 nitro to brushless conversion... what did you put together?
Can you guys shed some light on the "throttle servo" in a conversion for me? Does the servo stay in to run the brakes, or does the breaking become part of the motor/esc duties like on a regular 10th scale? If the servo stays in for breaking, how does that get tied into the receiver with the esc? That might be a really stupid question, but I thought I heard somewhere that the servo stays in for breaking. Thanks for your time.

RE: What's the longest you kept a RC for?
I got my first hobby grade when I was 15.... I ran the hell out of it, and it sits in it's own cabinet behind glass now. I'm 36 and I'd never part with it... too much sentimental value. I've moved up through the generations of RC10s, selling old rollers to get the new generation rollers. I think the last "new" one I bought was a T3. I still have that, but run my B4 and T4 most. My daughter is getting pretty good in the house with the mini-t, soon she'll move outside and up to the T3.

Sweet full scale by the way! RE: 2x4?
Agreed... 4x2 A 2x4 is something you cut with a saw and screw or nail into place. :) You know how you see pick up trucks with 4x4 stickers on the side of the box, between the rear wheels and tail lights? I saw one drive past me in a parking lot the other day that had a 4x2 sticker on it. Now, I live in Northern Wisconsin... A 4x2 is almost a must here... so why would a guy be proud of owning a 4x2? lol Just thought I'd share that with you guys. Happy New Year!

RE: Post pics of where you work on your r/c's here.....
Thanks for the compliment on the cabinet Jeremy! That's the stock body, on the Lunch Box, from about 20 years ago! That thing has TONS of batteries through it. I honestly can't believe that there aren't any holes rubbed through the corners, from it being tire side up all those times. LOL I do have one of the re-issue bodies in stock for shelf queen purposes, but haven't put it together yet (in fact, the new decal sheet is laying over the top of the van as it's sitting in the cabinet). Also, the 'Box' is bone stock... no oil in those shocks at all. I did think about putting them on at one time, but then my collection grew, so it that project got put on the back burner.

RE: Post pics of where you work on your r/c's here.....
Same with mine, Dirty_Vinylpusher, I do woodworking, fishing rod building, some sheetmetal work, along with various other projects in my shop. That's the reason I decided to put my R/C's "behind glass". In fact, I even have a target setup down there so I can shoot my bow indoors too. (the wall I built to seperate the shop from the rest of the basement has a set of french doors in it. I open them up to get about a 15 yard shot with my bow. Not the most ideal range, but it's enough to keep the muscles in shape.) I'm pretty confined with my space, so almost everything is on wheels. That way the things I need for the project of the week can be rolled out, and the rest "parked" in their respective storage spaces.

RE: 1/8 nitro to brushless conversion... what did you put together?
Well said Big T. I'm mainly an Associated guy also. However, being that I have virtually no experience with the larger scale, I was open to everyone's opinions. I was wondering about the electric RC8, if it's just a normal RC8 with the conversion done for you, or if it's a different car. I'm somewhat planning on picking up a roller off ebay and adding parts as my checkbook allows. There's a little over a foot of snow here, with another good dose forcasted in the next few days, so I don't need anything in running order for a few months yet. It'll be a while before the outdoor track is ready to go. lol Thanks again for shedding some light on the subject. Guver, are you telling me that you're not real impressed with the Raze? What don't you like about it?

RE: Post pics of where you work on your r/c's here.....
Here's a few shots of my storage cabinet... I have to take photos in sections as the cabinet itself is 13 feet long, and I can't back up enough to get it all in one image. There is a workbench on your left (out of the images) where I set up the current project. Most of my r/c stuff, I just work right out of my pit box, almost all my spare parts (and R/C tools) are stored in there anyway. Here's a shot of my spraybooth for painting bodies: It's made from an old furnace blower. I have it wired up so I can flip a switch (right on the unit) to turn on the light, blower, and compressor respectively.

1/8 nitro to brushless conversion... what did you put together?
Hey Guys, My question is about 1/8 scale nitros that have been converted over to brushless. What are the hot conversions? I was talking to a guy at the local track last weekend, and he was telling me about his rig for the outdoor track. Well, with my not having any experience with 1/8 scale, he rattled off a name of a buggy, but it didn't sound familar. I understand, you should run what the LHS supports for parts, but I was wondering about the likes and dislikes of the conversions you guys put together. Who makes kits, motor mounts, and what size motors are, ect. Thanks for your time, and explanation on this subject. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone and your families! Mike De

RE: trucks das bronco body???
Rough it out with a sharpie on the outside of the body, once you're happy with the pattern (or lack there of) apply your mask. If you have "overlapping" stripes, pay attention to which line is supposed to be each color. It might help if you draw a rough sketch on paper with the colors you choose marked on each stripe. Make sure the edges of the mask are pressed down tightly, to avoid "bleeding". Start with the darkest color first, and work your way to the lightest. We spray in that order to prevent the darker colors bleeding through the lighter ones. Let each coat dry before you pull mask for the next color. (That's my biggest problem... I get excited and want to see what it looks like so I pull mask right away before it has time to dry... I've messed up a few bodies this way, so be patient. I've had to learn this the hard way. lol) Again, the lightest color (or what looks like the "base color" of your body) goes on last. When you're painting a clear body everything is reversed because you're painting the inside. Finally, pull the window masks mount it, and Bob's your Uncle! Good luck, post some pics when it's done!
