RE: Ziroli SBD Dauntless, uk build
ORIGINAL: frankfearn Bill, Leave it with me and I will take a look tomorrow at my setup and give you a detailed description. No problem, [:D][:D][:D][:D]
Frank Thank You! Guy's you can look at my build thread if you want. It's on the other site, ... [link]http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=992515[/link] Unfortunately the last time I built this plane, it was to long ago and the set-up has been deleted from the cranium memory banks if you know what I mean. The building technique was quite different than the traditional Ziroli build to say the least. Entertaining if nothing else. [;)] Age, ... sigh ... [&o] Bill [&o]
ORIGINAL: SMITTY1820 Hello Bill, I will be flying mine with a Smart-Fly Power Expannder EQ6, this will allow me to connect 3 servos together and adjust each servos end points, center, and will even let me reverse them if I need to, here is the link to their site, if you are unsure of what each does, just email them, their response time is very short and they will make recomendations of differnt routes you can take. I am using a Futaba 10C radio that will let me assign channels to each servo as I choose, and I think you can do the same with the JR. Hope this helps, http://www.smart-fly.com/index.html Smitty
Smitty, I saw those only recently, but I already bought 4 Matchboxes 2 years ago so I am going with these. Basically, ...I believe they are the exact same thing. [link]http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRPA901[/link] Bill

RE: Ziroli SBD Dauntless, uk build
Frank, ... Thank you for your response. First off, ... let me just say, what a great looking bird you have built! I'd like to ask you about your wing set up if you don't' mind. Which channels are you using for the flaps and for the brakes, ... also, ... what mixing have you done? See, my plane is a little different than the other Ziroli Dauntless planes out their, ... simply because I don't have an engine, [X(] ... it's a slope glider, so I was using the radio in glider mode and running the flaps from the throttle stick, and the brakes from the gear switch which your obviously not on both functions. What I'd like to know, is how one is set up normally in airplane mode with an engine? Thanks Frank Bill

RE: Ziroli SBD Dauntless, uk build
Hello Guys, Can someone explain to me the mixing of the flaps and the brakes? I am trying to finish up my Dauntless and I am being held up with the programming. I am running 2 servos on the center flap and the plan provided set-up on the outer panels. I also have a couple of JR Blackboxes to aid in the mixing. I am also using a JR 8103 radio with a Spektrum 2.4 conversion. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks Bill

RE: Ziroli - SBD Dauntless Build Thread #2
Hello,Guy's, Not to hijack the thread or anything, but does anyone know what the airfoils are for the Ziroli Dauntless? The reason I am asking is I am making one that will be a PSS (Power Slope Soaring) version. I am ready to cut the wing on a CNC Foam Cutter and I need to make a wing that will look right at the fuse but change the tips to an airfoil that will best be suited for a glider. I called the folks at Ziroli and their tech guy says he dosnt know and the gal that answered the phone says that they were the same as the real Dauntless. I looked it up and I found out it is a NACA2415 at the root and at the tip it's a NACA2407 or NACA2409 depending on what site you look at. Perhaps giving you the link to my Build thread on RCGroups would give you more information ....
