RE: GRYPHON - build thread (sports/trainer 2m composite jet)
I Did my maiden flight yesterday............ WOW this plane is the best ever. slow takeoff & slow landing. I had a problem with nose wheel as it didn't open fully so I landed on the mains & then dropped then nose on the grass. No damage. I think the spring is bit weak to open the wheel against the wind. I'll have to take the retract a part & put stronger spring. 1/2 power all the time. the great part is when I deployed flaps (50% & 100%) there was no trim change required at all. the plane just slowdown. I love it. Congratulations Marc for your maiden, great flight.

RE: GRYPHON - build thread (sports/trainer 2m composite jet)
Hi Marc I did the same thing with the nose gear mounts, I enforced the whole structure in the nose by doubling every part with 6mm plywood. I'm using the Eurokit retract set but I thought of changing the steering system to exactly what you did. but I my case that was gonna require a lot of machining & a lot of work. So I ended up using wires............ Tomorrow I the inspection and the first flight... wish me luck guys. I'll post some pics & may be video if everything went the way it should. Moatasem

RE: GRYPHON - build thread (sports/trainer 2m composite jet)
Thank you Mike. Great feedback. I'm going to use a bit bigger engine on it " as it is the only engine I have now", it TJT Eagle 3000 which 12kg trust. I know it is a bit over kill but I'll dial it back a bit. I'm sure I'll need more Wight in the nose as my engine is bigger, I'll push all the batteries to the nose & I hope that will help. Mike, in your landing pics, you said that you had the flaps all way down & in the pics It was only like 30 degree, so is that the max throw you got?

RE: GRYPHON - build thread (sports/trainer 2m composite jet)
Congratulation Mike... I hope will have more & more successfully flights. I can't wait to finish & fly mine. I've a question, is the elevator servos save where they are above the trust tube??? It’s my 2nd jet & my first had no servos close to the engine. So I don't know. I'm isolating all the wires coming from the tail servos of course. But what about the servos?

RE: GRYPHON - build thread (sports/trainer 2m composite jet)
Hi I've received my Gryphon last week & I started working on it. It is great model. The quality is amazing & the very light Wight is a big bounce. I finished building one wing & I did reinforce to the nose wheel mount. Scott, What about the control surfaces throw???!!! I managed to get 25mm on the ailerons & around 35 degree on the flaps. Will I need more on the flaps? Cheers Maotasem
