Pilot-RC YAK 19% Set-up?
53" ws YAK by Pilot-RC. Just open the box and started the build. First this is a very, very well constructed plane!. I own planes from a lot of the major brands and this one is Sweet!. My motor is 156 grams. Im just hoping that there are other owners that can help me with a few questions. ( REASON: their Owners Manual is generic and applies to SBach mostly) Having put together many ARF's its not a big problem except for Elevator construction. I REALLY Hate using (1) servo in the tail to control BOTH Elev. halfs especially when this plane can do 3D !. Tying the Elev. halfs together with a tiny balsa stick ( as many ARFs do) is asking for trouble, I think. So I want to add (2) HiTec MG servos into the aft servo trays to control these. There is no information or control rods, horns, etc.for doing this in the hardware and Manual. Q: will this make the plane tail heavy? I'm trying to keep the plane light and nimble but not willing to risk a CRASH. If I can get input from other owners well......thats why we all use RC Universe, eh what?

Corsairs retract guide?
Need some guidence on where to install rotating retract for my Great Planes Combat Corsairs. I have not a clue as to where to begin. I will be using elec. retract from H.H. but all I need is some generic guidlines on where to secure them on the main spar?. How far from L.E. and how far out from center bay?. If anyone can send me a link ( I imagine all corsairs use the same kind of placement) I would greatly appreciate it. BTW: Im not a Combat guy I just want to fly this plane somewhat scale like around the field using L.G. THanks guys.

Mustang Fever: Thanks for the link. THey should work great.! Also I take it that you love Stangs like me. I have several P-51's under construction, one of which is a H.O.Balsa .20 size that I'm covering with real polished Aluminum from Coke Cans.! It should be ready for a 480 e-flite motor next week. I'll do a Posting of it when I'm done. This was the test subject to hone my skills...next one is GP Mustang .40 , cant wait.!!!!!

Flying tips for P-51 maiden
Before I maiden my Hyperion P-51 I thought I might ask for some flying tips. This plane does not have flaps!. I mostly fly my Extra's 260 and 330 and Hyperion Sukhoi but these planes handle sharp turns and can float-in on landings..... Im concerned mostly about landing on a asphalt parking lot!. THanks,

RE: Biggest Flop ARF?
Dear Old Fart: Perhaps the questions is too confusing. The questions is not to VALUE the advent of the proliferation of Almost Ready to FLy airplanes to our hobby. Rather, it is a POLL to obtain opinions of many ARF buyers that were proffered a product that did not live-up to expectations of the manufacturer. Now, taking this explaination and reinterpert the question, perhaps your response will focus on the "POINT" of the poll and not the "justification" of the polling question. Thank you Mr. Fart.

RE: Biggest Flop ARF?
So far so good. The reasons we purchase an ARF is 100% an individual choice, naturally. To some of us its the kind of plane we always wanted to own. To most all of us we need to be hyped in order to pull the trigger on a purchase. How often is the case that what we thought we were getting turns out to be " Disappointing" Materials, Flight behavior, design, etc. BTW: I never saw the G-Shark?

leading edge sheeting?
I removed the covering from the wings of a P-51 Electric ARF ( 49"ws) to beef up the retract supports. In so doing I noticed that all the wing ribs were either cracked or split from shipping. OK to the point: Ive started to apply balsa sheeting from the LE to the main spar and now I need some advice. "How should I taper the sheeting in order to mate-up with the leading edge? remember this was a ARF so the ribs tops were flush from LE to main spar. ALL IDEAS WELCOME.....if any thanks

RE: fliton AJ saito 40
It sounds like the Saito 40 is a good fit. The Evolution .46 I had was a very reliable engine and would have torn up the sky in the AJ. Well thats History. Its either buy another charger to handle 6S lipos ( @ $160.) and the batteries $80 bucks and-up or go GLOW . Money can't buy happiness BUT it can employee a large research staff to resolve one's problems. :)

RE: fliton AJ saito 40
Airraptor, Good grief, I did'nt know this forum existed and low and behold your doing what I started to do this week. My AJ always seemed a little underpower with an E-Flite .25 in it . I am currently making a move to glow this plane and thought I was nutty until I found this Thread.! I'm taking steps now to seal all the exposed wood that might get fuel soaked. Also I have only one small Saito NIB .65 that might be overkill and no 2stroke engines small enough. Please refresh my memory....750 watts = 1/2 horsepower. ? so the right glow engine for this plane should be .49 2str. ??? I'll subscribe to this and follow along. Good Luck.

Seagull Yak54 Saito 100?
I'm ready to jump on this plane because: its a Yak, it looks great, and judging by the YouTube vid's it flies as nice as my Extra 260. Most of the YouTube planes were using Saitos 100 and up and a few were 26-gassers. If anybody is flying this plane could you give me your engine choice and flying weight?. THanks.

Are Li-po packs repairable?
I have a TP 3s2p that survived a bad landing. Battery has a small dent ( opposite side of connectors) and my FMA charger flashes a warning that the 3rd cell is below .04V's. Is there a site, or post, that can help me repair or reconfigure this battery into something usable? I'm not a electric wizard but can follow directions...

RE: The new electric YAK 54 from Greatplanes!
I just left the Tower site and almost pulled the trigger on this plane. I really want to add a 15 or 25e power Yak to my hanger and am undecided on this or keep looking for a 40"-48" w.s. plane. Ive had a lot of fun with my Hyperion Suhkoi. They both seemed to be made HONG KONG style. How does this plane rate (1 to 10 ) against the 3D planes of 2010?.
