RE: 3rd boat. flat deck 3-point hydro
Congrats on your success with the new 3 - pointer. BTW- They took my feeding tube out Wed., and family doc gave me an ok to start doing more. Good week. BTW- I got a OM- 29" boat and finishing building a water pickup for the motor coolers and put more caps on the t-120 esc to take the heat which is already water cooled ( esc ).

What fills the sponsons- air or foam or balsa, since your going to seal the whole works?

RE: 3rd boat. flat deck 3-point hydro
I would'nt put transom blocks on or in. Make motor on rails for CG purposes, you have the room. Build as normal build but put metal rails in with lockdown where CG fits the bill.. Don't worry about rudder, pond is almost dry as are alot of them. 2 x 4 wouldn't float. LOL! Farmers here are cutting corn crop down to feed the cattle, pretty sad. No need to reply as you have your building plans and you know what else is coming. We can talk later, ok.- what i mean with motor on rails is the whole works, gas tank, wood for support; rudder with dimensions you've typed. Now with your knowledge and my dumbness ,you'll come out ok!!

RE: 3rd boat. flat deck 3-point hydro
Bought anther E-13 for Self-inflicted I'll put wooden sonsons on this one or cover with 1.32 ply. The last one has 1/ 32 on top for strenght and did the job. Foam safe sure gets expensive. I would like to use 5 minute thinned epoxy over ply but wonder if it will eat foam up. I kept all components case i had fun with the foam if i keep fingers away. Saftey swith is going in this one, Any ideas. Ponds here are pretty dry. Take care of your new future. i like the small er airboat, pretty slick in my books. TTYL!

RE: airboat adjustment for straight running
Dennis here! I took a good look at your airrudder system and the main problem is airflow thru frame of your gas setup. You need alot of open space with no obstructions Your unit is strictly gas operation. Don't be mad at what i say, please. Dadkins metal frame work looks great but i'm no genius. Now if Dadkins could rotate would work best like a totating fan. You guys are sharp enough with metal gears. Hope i'm not out of bounds. Food for thought from the sideline.

RE: water proofing my ESC
I don't size of boats you have. Scorp 1 did a t-120 by adding 35-100 caps to help cooling of esc and worked great. These are additional to caps aready in place. I'd use Corrosion-X on esc for protection from water and many have done this.

RE: airboat adjustment for straight running
Ok, got an idea, i have some brass that is a foot long and a1' wide and cut have lenghtwise and also i have a Original rudder. Now if i bend brass and screw into exterior of transom low. take the other bent piece and lay almost beside the the first. Lenght would be close to 5 1/2". Now the transom could be cut inside enough to out a 1 x 2 , 6" long for strenght and cover with 1 3;2" ply-top of transom.I can rivet the 2 long brass pieces for strenght. I have plastic break away bolts. Now for twin airrudders. i can drill down into 1 x 2 vertical about 4" apart. Slip brass shafts into holes and take some heavier rod and slide into brass for up right. The airrudders will be stationary and let the water rudder be the boss. Pretty hard to sync water rudder and airdder. I have a cross member for airrudder to maintain equal distance. What do you think?-Why need airrudder?s

RE: airboat adjustment for straight running
Thanks for pitures. I'm getting ready for cancer operation on the 25 of July but your offering is alot to ask of anyone. I'll wait till i recover from it. Cancer is cured, thank god. I wasn't planning a fancy dan type of water rudder. Thanks for replying. If you make me one , only not a fancy dan, i'll gladly pay for your work and time..I'll make it 2 airudder system in the meantime. No bull on what i just typed, not my way of doing things. You WILL take the money too! Now 2 airudders is a snap in my boat but the flip up of prop has soaked in yet in construction.. I just took a walk and need a nap.

RE: Motley Crew reinforcments
Well you could put 1/32" ply down which will flex alittle but will ad strenght to bottom without adding very little weight. Fb cloth will work but is messy and depends on type of cloth or material available. You'll probably have to do the sides of tub too.

RE: airboat adjustment for straight running
The airboat is 21" long and 14" wide with a 700-8.4 grauper with a single airrudder and will be powered by 2S lipo. The 700 is a guess but has plenty of get-up and go. The airboat is all wood. Thanks for replying.

RE: Genesis cat questions
I read where sometimes the coupler with setscrews is not flat, so screws can't hold or even screws maybe alittle stripped or eve crossthreaded. I'd get a new high end coupler from Jeff.

RE: DU-BRO Push Rod Seals
Make your own boots out of 1/8" plastic rods and use piano wire for the connection. Just use grease kneaded into 1/8" rod to keep water out. Piano wire comes in various diameter. Remember you need only 20 degrees either way for turning.
