RE: Automobile 12V Battery?
[8D] Thanks Guys for the advise. I did charce it overnight and then hook up my Lipo charger. So far it's charged three batteries without complaints. Next I guess I'll take it to the field and use it for as long as it will work. If I have problems...my car will be there...right?!?? Mike Kennedy (Cincinnati, Ohio)

Automobile 12V Battery?
Hi Guys, I was standing in my garage, looking at an older 12V Optima (dry-cell) car battery that had been in my wife's van for about three years. I removed it from the van because it was becoming unreliable in starting her engine. I didn't really want to throw it away - or - recycle it before finding out if I could use it at the field to charge all my electrical airplane lipo batteries (usually 2 & 3 cell) and or anything else to do with RC. I guess I could just charge it in the garage, and take it to the field to see if it works, but I thought I would ask if there is a way to test the usefullness of the old 12V and maybe get an educated guess as to how usefull it will be for this purpose. For an automobile battery it was expensive and I didn't want to get rid of it before asking you guys. Any ideas? Thanks in advance !!! Mike Kennedy (Cincinnati, Ohio)

RE: New to Finishing Graphics - Searching
[:)] Avaiojet / Charles (and others), Thanks so much for the reply(s)!! Charles, I am flattered you would want to participate in finishing this plane. I am interested in your offer. I would like to know more about how this might happen. I would like to help consult on the design...at least know what you're thinking. I will be very glad to send additional photographs, measurements and anything else you might need. Again, this is an airplane designed to have been flown during the "Golden Era of racing" (pylon, I guess). Also, thanks for the link to the other thread. Interestingly, I had alrteady been there and saw that...I already have it as a bookmark and a resource to use when the time comes to place the graphics. This should be fun!! Write back and let me know how I can help. If you respond here, I will check back once a day. If not, feel free to e-mail me directly. Thanks again guys!!!

New to Finishing Graphics - Searching
Hi Guys!! I am just about to finish a scratch-build Golden Era 60 (racer). Many, many hours involved (for me). Now that the wings and fuse are covered (Ultracote) I now need some suggestions for finishing-graphics. I've only begun to look around for them and don't really know where to go. The fuse is (solid) burnt orange & the wings, tail feathers and cowl are (solid) black. Now I want to trim the fuse with some black and the wings (etc.) with burnt orange (...or something). Oh...I know I'll fugure something out, but I thought I'd turn to you guys first-it might save me some heartache. [image][/image]

Looking for : Unusual T-Pins
Hi Guys - Years ago I saw an unusual type of T-Pin. The top of it was plastic - flat across the top and tapered to a small cylinder. Below that was a normal pin. Seemed it would make it easier to place through bulsa or hardwood (and pull it back out). Now I can't seem to find them. Does anyone know where I can locate some for my personal stock? Thanks!![8D]

Monocoat & Oil Troubles
Hi Guys, I have been flying an ARF (46 size) this summer. It's less than a year old. The Monocoat behind the wing saddle has come away from the balsa, become engine oil-soaked and will no longer re-attach to the fuse. I have cut away the oil-soaked Monocoat, but fear new Monocoat won't stick to the oil-soaked bulsa. Can I remove the old engine oil from the soaked bulsa and restore it to new condition? Or am I going to have to remove the bulsa and make new in it's place? The bulsa I might have to remove is the underside fuse. former(s), I really don't want to have to do that!!! And suggestions? Thanks in advance!! [&o]
