RE: Inverted......finally
Awesome man congrats, I am still waiting for the right time to try it myself ... can do it pretty well on the sim at least off of a stationary backflip or loop ... need to try soon with my 450 as well and then the 500.

RE: Trex 450 HDX servo Questions.
I have an HDX/TRex 450 hybrid (it has the HDX STK Superframe and the rest are Align parts) ... I use the Hitec HS-65HB servos for cyclic and love them!! They are cheaper than the MG's and hold up very well to crashes ... took 4 hard one's to strip their gears and gear replacements are cheap and easy. On the gyro, I use a Logitech 2100T but know the Futaba 401 is a good gyro, the 2100T is less expensive but the 401 is easier to setup. On the rudder servo, I have used a 9650 but recently installed a 9257 and am glad I did ... the 9257 is super fast to respond and doesn't cause my tail to snap so much at the end of some wicked fast piros, so I feel it is better for the 450. I also like the weight savings as the 9257 makes balancing the CG much easier.

RE: Tower pro servos on Trex -your opinion
I have run them on my 450's, they are okay for standard flying and even worked on rudder for nice piro's but they do not hold up well in crashes, in fact after one crash I had three strip on me. I am running Hitec HS-65HB's and strongly recommend them and love mine, I crashed three times with them before I had to replace the gears and gears sets are inexpensive, less than a TowerPro SG-90. Plus TowerPro SG-90's do not center that well, when compared to Hitec HS-65HB's.

RE: trex500 tail bob problems
When you say bobbing, do you mean up and down or left and right? Up and down is generally due to either low headspeed, belt tension (too much or too little), or another vibration problem. I would bet on the headspeed being too low, what is your TC setting?

RE: 450 or 500 or 600 trex?
I say go with a 600 if space where you fly is not an issue, but to me the 500 has quenched my thirst for a larger heli from my 450's and cannot even imagine a 600 in my front yard as the 500 is a little big for that. The 500 has the stability of the 600 but the agility and super fast response of the 450, it truly is the best of both worlds!!!! Electric is the way to go if you want lots of power and instant zip ability, nitros have a lag time between a throttle punch and the reaction where electrics do not. I love my 500 and am so glad that I didn't go any larger for the 600.

RE: need new servos
Hitec HS-65HB's are good too, plus they do not develop slop like metal gears can ... however after about 3-4 hard crashes the gears will strip and need to be replaced, but at around $7-8 who can complain? A cheaper alternative I keep on-hand for emergency servo replacement are TowerPro SG90's they are very good performers for their price, and can be found for about $5-6 each online.

RE: SUCCESS, My 500 flys!
I bought a TP 610, which comes with a balancer and can handle 6s lipos as well as two 3s at the same time. I ordered an Align 6s 25c 2600mah lipo to add to the battery bag, so now I have enough for 3 flights and 2 flights on my 450.

RE: SUCCESS, My 500 flys!
I am very glad, man I love the 500 ... it just has such a much more stable feeling to it, yet it is very powerful, but easy to control. I need to get more batteries though, and a new charger so I can charge 6s or 2(3s) at once, charging them seperately sucks! ReadyHeli is out of the KongPower charger until next month.

RE: SUCCESS, My 500 flys!
Awesome, I had my maiden flight this weekend as well ... man the 500 is a great BIG bird when compared to my 450 and the way it handles the winds 10-20 as well this weekend. Running a 4s lipo? I thought we had to run 5s or 6s?

Needless to say but I likely will not be grounding anything on mine unless I start to see glitching, what radio type/system are you guys using? I have a Futaba 7c PCM system I will be using in the T500.

RE: Want a Phoenix flight simulator
I would contact Phoenix support directly with your questions, they will be able to best tell you if your PC can run their sim. Personally I would think it could, as long as you have at least a 64mb video card, a 2ghz processor, and at least 512mb of RAM. Pheonix is a lot less reliant on hardware than RF and has adjustments in the sim options to turn down or turn up graphic details.

RE: 5S OR 6S for trex 500 ?
Thanks, so basically you are suggesting to ground the front tail drive bearings to the boom, then ground the boom to the frame, and lube my belt? How do you ground the tail bearings to the boom and to the frame? Can you explain that more for me? This is why I am thinking of buying the kit myself instead of the deals I have seen on used ones, even slightly used.

RE: 5S OR 6S for trex 500 ?
Hey, guys with the 500 TRex ... have you heard about the glitching/static build-up/esd issue? I read over on HeliFreak that this model has been more succeptible than others to the ESD in the tail, in some posts I have read that just spraying with silicone, static guard, or pam has remedied the issue. While others went through further steps to ground their tails to the frames. Any feedback is appreciated, I am waiting on some funds and my LHS to get the T500 in stock ... it will be the GF kit with blades for only $460 :D I will hold off on the metal bling for as long as I can, but man if my LHS had the torque tube I would be all over it. I may see if I can get the metal tail for a good deal though since I will be buying all of my stuff there. I'll need cyclic and rudder servos, and a gyro ... everything else I have. My LHS recommended the 9650's or the HS-5245's for cyclic and the 9257 for rudder, along with the GY-401 for the gyro ... would everyone agree? THANKS!

Really? Hmmm ... a T-Rex 500 is that much better than a Hurricane? Now I am really on the fence, I like the longer boom on the Hurricane. Just wondering, is there an extended boom setup for the T-Rex 500 to allow it to run 500+ mm blades?

RE: Just me flying around - video
Nice flying bry! I ecspecially liked that one slow piro where your heli was nose-in for a moment, that is about where I panic and put my heli into a bad position. Nose-in just freaks me out, but at a greater distance away with a more open field I am sure it will be easier.

Another T-Rex SE V1.5 in 10 mph winds
Uploading two videos from flying yesterday, as well as some pics. Winds were around 10mph, which you can hear at times and see on my shirt with it flapping in the wind. My wife surprisingly took all of these while I flew one pack, and I had no idea she was doing it, less pressure on me :) At the end of the first video you can hear a passer-by (guy w/family on bikes = why I landed) who said "looks like someone got a new toy".
