RE: Sportwerks Recoil 1/14
I just picked one up, after seeing my friends modified Recoil. I haven't had time to even charge the battery yet, but I ran what juice that was in it out. My friends has a 370 brushless motor running 1100mAh lipo's w/25amp ESC. I don't know all the specs exactly. He also has the high speed pinion, 9 up from stock. It was fast before. Prolly 40mph, this should break 55+.. We'll see soon, and we'll get some video's up. One thing he did to help from wrecking the diff's was to take it apart, and shave down a spacer that was in there to bring the gears closer together. This was a suggestion from a guy at the LHS that had one. Pretty sweet for 150$.. P.S. My LHS is selling them for $150 so if you're in the Oshkosh, Wi area, thats where it's at.

RE: WATS THE POINT IN RC?
I believe the radio controlled hobby is also more than just a hobby. There is much more to it than just being a past time. Dedication, friendship, experience, goals, learning, these are just a few, and everyone will have different experiences, and be in this hobby for their own reasons. Take a look on this forum, you will find anything, from one extreme to the other. Perhaps you will see a project that someone decided to spend their time building, just because they felt like it. Or perhaps you will see a (what I like the best) wonderful work of art, a war-bird in which you can't tell if is a full scale airplane, or not. Personally, I love flying. I always have. So my main interests are R/C airplanes and more recently, helicopters. And honestly, whether it be land, air or sea. All R/C will have at least one thing in common, and that is FUN. The RC hobby is so broad that I believe in the future, it can do nothing but become more popular. With technology going the way it is, the sky isn't even the limit anymore. (Personally owned R/C spacecraft anyone?)

RE: TRex SE Easier to Fly than the Blade CP?
I have both, Trex is easier to fly, because it so much smoother and stable. Although that makes it tempting to try more aerobatic stuff.. [X(]

RE: Trex or Corona
One way to look at it, once you have everything replacement Trex parts are cheap. You can get a new tail boom, belt, boom supports, and I think it comes with nice aluminum tail servo mounts for around 14$. These packages are availible from Align at your local hobby store. Its actually cheaper to buy the new "boom" kit, than just a belt, or just the aluminum servo mounts.

Just took a few minutes and used a file, and sand paper to enlarge the slot a bit, untill it was smooth. Does anyone know where I can get linkages for DIRECT servo linkage. The XL plans to not show the option. Thanks. Heres a pic of the progress. This is day 2 of the build.

I am looking at getting a Futaba 9CHP, or a 9ZAP or 9ZHP for my Trex. I want to use direct servo linkage, and I was wondering if these Tx's have the CCPM capability. Thank you.

RE: Stumped building TREX frame...
It is the arm that comes off of the rear of the swash plate that will not fit through the anti-rotation bracket. The anti-rotational bracket slot is too small. The bracket for the plastic frame is the right size, but it will not fit on the carbon fiber frame I am using.

Stumped building TREX frame...
For some reason the swashplate rear arm wont fit into the anti-rotational bracket on the frame. The stock plastic one has a larger slot, but I cant use that, because its a carbon fiber frame and will not fit the same. I don't want to dremel or sand the anti-rotational bracket, for fear of having it be sloppy. Can I safely take some material off of the swashplate rear arm? Humm..

RE: Let the build BEGIN! My NEW Trex!
I've got the head built, and I started working on the frame, but this is where the ALIGN directions fail, because I have a carbon fiber frame. I CA'ed in the main shaft bearings, and now I'm stumped. How do I go about putting the PRE-ASSEMBLED tail gear drive assembly into the 1 peice bearing supports? I tried pulling the belt pulley off of it, so I could slide it in, but I'm afraid its glued on, and I will break it. I think one option would be to saw half of the bearing mount so that it can be pried open, and the tail gear drive assembly can be put in, and then bolted into the frame. Anyone know a good place that shows CF frame assembly? Or any tips. .. It comes assembled already, and I guess I may have to take it apart anyway huh? Thanks guys.

RE: Which heli is suprior...T-rex XL or SA?
Yeah, owner of the hobby store was talking about this. I think for 10-20$ more you get the basicly the kit assembled for you. Which is nice if you want to fly right away, but you should know how to setup a heli, and know the parts if you're going to fly it. (replace parts).. I'm repeating what I've heard, since mine hasn't arrived yet.

RE: Blade cp
The Blade CP was my first heli. I believe it did its just, it tought me how to fly. I never had to replace anything on it, except for the 4in1, which was defective. The wooden blades covering came off, other than that hardly any damage. I bought the plasti-blades for it, and they work excellent. I've flown outside about 5 differant days, and never had one incident. I'll have to get video up here when I get to it. The Blade CP tought me how to fly heli's (and A LOT OF PATIENTS). I've also piloted my friends Nexus 30 nitro heli. It did what it was ment to do. I got flying cheap. Now I ordered my TREX! But the blade will come with me where ever that goes also.

RE: small racer??
I remember seeing a small reno racing type P-51 mustang a long time ago at a place here called R/C dymond. I think it was made out of fiberglass, or composite, and it couldnt have been been more than a 12" wingspan. It had swept tear drop shaped wing tips, and tips of the elevator and rudder. I didn't get anymore info on it, and that place is now gone. But it always sticks in my head, because it was really cool looking. I can only imagine trying to control it! lol..

My first fast plane!
This is what I just picked up from a guy who is downsizing his collection. It's a HOTS II, built about 10 years ago, with only a few flights on it. It has a OS .46 MAX SF motor, with a header and tuned pipe. (What does SF stand for? What are the specs on the engine?) Does anyone recognize this pipe at all? It has a tru-turn aluminum spinner, and an APC 10x6 prop. I threw in a HITEC RX, and servos to complete this plane. I have to adjust the linkages on the servos and set up the radio yet, ooo I can't wait. The plane weighs in at about 3.5LBS. Can anyone guess what kinds of speed this is capable of? I'm planning on getting a radar gun to check it out. Heres the pics. Is that a plastic model that you built around the piccolo, or is that a lexan body? I have a large scale Huey plastic model, and I was thinking that it may be too heavy for my BLADE CP.

The cost of importing a Skyline to the US is what keeps a lot more people from doing it. Nissan never produced a Skyline GT-R to comply with the United States standards. I believe only one place can make the modifications necessary to make it comply. Motorex.
