RE: big bore kit
I'd say the GP290 kit would be the easiest route and gives a good power hike, just a simple head and piston swap, the kit comes with all gaskets, gudgeon pin, circlips, piston and ring aswell as a sparkplug, they aren't that expensive either and mated with a rear Dom have quite a dramatic effect on overall power, its one of the better options if on a budget and keeps the 28mm stroke which in my opinion is better than any 30mm stroked engine....[;)]

RE: Baja exhaust
Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of options for quiet tuned pipes, the quietest i've heard is the Mielke side pipe, whatever you get it'll be loud. The stock muffler is a real power sapper and the difference changing to one of those would be really noticeable, well it was to me,I too use the HPI SS tuned pipe and find it great apart from its a little on the fragile side,i'm upgrading soon to the DDM Silenced rear Dominator, still loud but not quite as loud as the unsilenced version..[;)]

RE: knock off baja are they worth 500.00
Only advice i'll offer is go with the KM over Shenqi if you have little largescale experience, the Shenqi needs more doing to it out the box just to stay running, the diff is the worst part but they cut a lot more corners than KM,i've just stripped, sorted and rebuilt a Shenqi for a mate and if I hadn't it would've been fubar within 10 mins of running....[;)]

RE: New Spektrum rx/module will increase range?
I have a Sanwa/Airtronics M8 and the SM1000 Spekkie module, was using SR300 RX's but the range is poor to say the least,i've just spent £86GBP on a new SM1001 Pro series module with SR3001 Pro series RX and its no different, not sure why it is like this but the range is just over 100m or so and worse when installed in the Baja SS. I never had any issues with range with the 2 DX3S sets i've had and the DX3.0 I had but this combo is terrible, can only assume its a fault on the TX itself but the voltage getting to the module is more than adequate, basically the module is just the TX finals part of the DSM Spektrum radios, all RF power is delivered from that so can't understand why its so poor, the new pro system has got RF link boosting aswell so i'm officially stumped and considering going for another DX3S or the 40Mhz FM module for the M8,its a shame as I really like the TX's feel and functionality...[:o]

Very nice Rob and great price too.One of our members over at MSUK has recently bought a Rampage Pro with all the alloy and bling and it looks stunning, its still very much in the frame for me personally when I come to get a largescale truck in October along with the Nutech MMT.Are there any UK importers of the Rampage, nearest i've seen that we can get is the Typhoon...??

Nothing but props to Nutech,I think the more well established brands could learn a lot from you guys, well done Chris and lets get these models over to the UK,I really do hope that FTX take on the MMT in their guise, whichever way,I hope I get the opportunity to try the MMT,if its anything like the TB2/Punisher then i'll be getting one,i'm really surprised just how far you have come on,i've not been around for ages through illness and only just gone into remission but wow,it's superb, the TVP chassisied truck will be a first on a largescale if it goes into mass production,I know that the KR1 was a first but not really mainstream so Nutech,I salute you....[;)]

This is great to see,if its anything as good as the TB2 then i'll be happy, over here in the UK,the TB2 is known as the FTX Punisher and one guy has just sold his MCD RR to get one for racing as they're that well made,i'm also thinking of selling my Baja SS and getting one but i'd much prefer the truck if FTX take it on,my original plan when I got into largescale was the Smartech Titan but in the guise of the Carson Gas Devil, they were great but it seems that Nutech have bettered an already half decent truck with a superb chassis and turned it into a potential race winner.Well done Nutech and keep up the great progress...[;)]

RE: Need some advice on Futaba 2.4 VS DX3S Spektrum radio
I have the DX3S and its great but if I was in your position,i'd keep the Futaba, better system, more range and the overall quality is better, the same people who did the radio system on the Nomadio Sensor were employed to do the Futaba system and also deal with the radio comms for the US Military,if you aint bothered about the Telemetry then sell the DX3S fella, the Telemetry isnt all that accurate anyway, especially in the temp and RPM dept, the voltage is about the most useful,ok so it only has 4 batteries, and is a bit lighter, big deal, its probably of benefit if you weigh 90lbs and have arms like a stick insect but thats about it...

Got myself a an engine, aint an LRP,its its brother the slightly more potent Nosram RS.28 Monster Evo 3,got it for £80GBP and its one gallon old and running like a dream, should make the truck lively enough for me.Next stage is to get the 2x Svox SH 0252MG servos and Spekkie SR300 Receiver.... RE: Got myself a roller...
Cheers,i'm gonna take my time with this one and give her a full strip down and rebuild, the shocks are going to be redone, thinking about trying 45wt maybe 50wt,I want to add some uprated skid plates,TiNi gears,23mm Proline hex kit,LST1 shell and a Raminator shell, both for show really.I've decided on the LRP Z.30R Spec 2,that will be bought at the begining of the week, someone wants my Heli that i'm selling and that'll pay for the mill.I was going to go for the Axial.28R,that would allow me to get a SR300 RX for her aswell but the LRP just oozes power and thats what LST2's are all about I think...

RE: Got myself a roller...
Finally got my hands on it,its in very good condition.Ordered a Stainless screw kit for her and looks like I may be getting a LRP Z.28R Spec 2 off a mate, just needs a OWB but if that dont pan out,i've got a Esky KB2 with a stack of extras and spares to offload, that will pay for a new engine, maybe a LRPZ.30R Spec 2,they're currently only £140GBP in certain online outlets. Its already got the FOC and a Futaba S3005 on the throttle/brake and one Hitec HS645MG on the steering, decided on 2 Savox 10kg/cm metal geared servos for steering and the Futaba can stay on T/B duties...[:D]

Thanx for the advice fella,it's not set in stone wghich engine i'm getting,i'd prefer something better like the LRP Z.28 but will have to see how things pan out in the finances dept, the Mach 427 teal head is also a possibility,I can get one for less than the LRP from over in the US on ebay,as of now that was just a thought really, the STS I had in the past was pretty good and served me well with a decent amount of power but I know there are abetter engines out there...[;)]

Have you ran the engine since buddy, how is it..?? I'd just clean it out with engine degreasant, smother it with GT85 and rebuild,if its knackered just replace the piston and liner, the bearings and crank should be ok.This always looks worse than what it is but those engines are far too good to place on the scrapper pile....[;)]

RE: Got myself a roller...
Cheers fellas,i'm gonna go for a .28 STS engine to get her up and running,I have 2 MG servos hanging about too so they;ll do for the time being, wouldn't mind running two Hitec HS625MG servos, that'll be around £60GBP but its only £55 for a 20kg/cm Savox SC-1256 if over 300oz of torque aint enough then I dont know what is....[:D] Heres a few pics... RE: 3 shoe clutch and flywheel for Revo..
Hey guys,i've got sorted now,I ended up getting the STRC 3 shoe kit and a 16t 3Racing lightweight HD clutchbell,i'm gonna mate that with a delrin 38t spur gear until I get my new Robinson 38/15 set.The STRC clutch looks like good quality and was bought fom VG Racing for £20GBP posted, took 6 days to get to Manchester UK from LA and we had a Bank Holiday during that so pretty damn good VG Racing and much recommended.Thinking about one of their cages for her next but that'll be a while as i've just bought a Losi LST2 roller with full RPM arms so that I have the best of both worlds, however the Revo will always be my favourite truck...[:D]

RE: REVO! Small, Mid, and BIG block!!
I've never ran a bigblock engine in my Revo,i've thought about it and probably would've done if it hadn't got the RB TM 523 in there, this engine is easily enough for the Revo in my opinion, its all good and well having s%$t loads of power but if you cant get that power down then whats the point.? I've raced quite a few who have Piccos and a few with bigblocks and one had a LRP Z.28 and it was so powerful he got trounced by the better setup Revos.Mine is rapid as is and runs 16/38 gearing with the close ratio gears in the tranny, its pretty quick and handles great,it often gets the better of the Picco engined Revos but the best engine for the Revo in my opinion is a toss up between the OS.TM.21 and the RB that I have, thats just my opinion and that may change if I ever try a OS.28XZ Max in her.....[:D]

Got myself a roller...
Hey guys, this is my first post in the Losi forum on RCU,I had a LST2 a few years ago and wished I had never got shut of it.I'm a huge Revo guy and love the Revo but i've ankered for another big Losi for a while now.The truck i've just got is a roller in very good above average condition,it needs an engine, servo,RX and battery, its got RPM arms all round, gear cover and a Losi rear wing and mount,i'm not sure on what engine to put in her but i'm wanting something of relitively low cost,a STS .28 maybe but I really do like the LRP Z.28 and the awesome OS.28XZ Max but the budget is gonna be slim for a while. The first thing I want to get is a Spektrum SR-300 sports RX to go with the DX3S TX I already have, then a decent servo for the steering. My question at this time is,is it better to have the two steering servos or just stick one quality item in like the Savox SC-1258,they have 12kg/cm of torque and a latency of 0.08secs over 60 degrees or would two Hitec HS635HB kryptonite geared servos be ok...?? Thanks a lot and I look forward to posting my progress....[;)]

RE: DX3S on Revo - how?
You can use it on smaller flywheels but it needs some modding.I have a Fioroni turbo sliding clutch and the wheel is 36mm,I had to trim the PCB board of the sensor and angle it inwards so that it read ,the sensor needs to be closer than what the manual states aswell so RTFM really isn't that helpful. It is better done with a 40mm wheel like what has been mentioned, they're a gimmick really,i've only ever seen 16,500rpm from my RB 523 according to the sensor reading and theres no way to calibrate the system to read right as i'm dam sure it revs a lot higher than that.lol.They're a good guide to how its running though once you get it all set up and working and once set up for speed are better as the math involved is universal so reads more or less right on any diameter flywheel...[;)]
