RE: RCGF Engines
if you need more prop clearance maybe put on bigger tires or get higher landing gear if possible. but if not possible then try a smaller diameter prop with more pitch to try and get the same thrust.

RE: RCGF Engines
the 20cc manual says 15x6 - 16x6 so i personally would go with 15x6 minimum for a spitfire warbird. try a 15x8 after break-in.
ORIGINAL: Piston I will post a bunch of pics shortly. A video from our Spanish agent is here. [link=http://www.youtube.com/user/axarmodel#p/a/0/X4RyQwp5b_w]Aero 28cc v2[/link] Cheers Henry
i watched that video the other day and it was interesting how he starts the engine. he turns the prop back and forth making the magnet pass over the ignition sensor a few times then flips the prop to start it. how would that work technically?

Cman, so thats the RCGF 15cc on the Fourstar and is that a RCGF 20cc or 26cc or maybe a 28cc on the aeroworks extra 260?

i was just curious to see if you had some video's of your new 56cc and 112cc but didn't find them. was also curiious to see if there was a 15cc manual and noticed the mistake for the 28cc manual and wanted to let you know. i figured you wouldn't have the 15cc manual yet but i wanted to check anyways :)

Piston/Henry, i noticed that the 28cc engine mount template has the link saying it's the 26cc template. it's the 28cc .pdf file but the link says it's for the 26cc.

RE: NEW! Nitro Planes 92
i recongnize opjose from the knife edge realflight sim swap pages for add on sim plane mods. so i might be right about my recommendation for the .90 4 stroke instead of the 4 stroke .70's for this plane. the only way to know is to try them.

RE: NEW! Nitro Planes 92
4 stroke engines are slower and spin bigger propellers but are powerful. usually they install bigger 4 stroke engines than 2 strokers and i don't exactly know why. i would recommend the .90 4 stroke. the electric power.60 would be compared to a 2 stroke .60 glow engine you could probably go with 2x 2 stroke .60-.70 or 2x 4 stroke .90-1.20glow the 1.20 4 stroke would be overkill but would fly like a rocket. the .90 4 stroke would be more than addequate. you could try the .70 4 stroke and it would fit fine. just extend the engine out far enough for the prop shaft to reach out of the cowl. but i still would think it would fly underpowered with the .70's

RE: NEW! Nitro Planes 92
the NitroPlanes cessna 310 in this thread will require 2x .91 fourstrokes but the Top Flite cessna 310 will fit 2x .70 to .80 cu in 4-strokes (11.5 - 13.1 cc) but will require extensive modification to the cowls http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LL1090&P=1

RE: RCGF Engines
ORIGINAL: Umran Hi all, Today i received the test unit of RCGF 15cc engine. Some basic specs, weight engine alone = 635g weight with ign and muf = 825g weight with ign and muf and stand-offs = 900g i test this engine using various props, 14 x4, 14 x7, 15 x8, 16 x6, 17 x4, 16 x 4. However i found that for reliable idling and best thrust ratio, 15 x 4W APC prop is the best. idle at 1450rpm and peaked at 8850rpm. Mind you this engine is new and haven't broken in yet. all test was done using RON95 petrol, and PETRONAS 1000 2T(mineral based) at the ratio of 30:1. refer this video when i use 15 x 4W APC.
oops :), why does it show it's a 20cc at the beginning of the video?

RE: Aerovate Engines
if i remember right the prop listed in the manual is the prefered break-in prop and my manual says to use a 22x10 for the 62cc and a few people said i could go to a 23x8 or 23x10 after break in i think. so maybe the 20x10 will be good for break-in then after break-in you could go to smaller or larger based on your needs as long as you don't go to way to large of a prop. to large or to much pitch on the prop might overheat and overwork your engine. also prop performance can be different on different brands of props of the same size and pitch. anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

can the outer wings be setup to be removed from the center section for transport or do you have to glue them? also do you have to glue the elevators or can they be setup to be removed.
