RE: great planes sport scale mustang???
ORIGINAL: WhiteRook i like that wide spaced gear , a lot of stability. what you give the airplane as far as quality? from 1 to 10
thanks WhiteRook, I can't comment as to the flight characteristics yet but as far as fit and finish go I would say about an 8. It wasn't intended to be an all out scaler from the start so if you are hung up on every scale detail you get what you pay for. There are no provisions for retracts or flaps, and the aileron servos aren't hidden, but I do feel Great Planes captured the essence of the P51 in this sport plane though. Everything went together very smooth and the directions were clear, like stated earlier the cheap wire landing gear was my only concern it was the same set that was on my super sporster and with the first hard landing it folded up into the wing so that is why I built this set of aluminum gear right of the bat.

I had painted them then clear coated, but they didn't hold up well to the abuse, so I ended up stripping them back to origanal.

I actually converted my 5b over to a T and prefer the larger tires and ground clearance but to each their own. You only need to remove the body to gas it up, starting is no problem with the body on. I went from this to this

Are you running a high torque steering servo? Because if you are it is probably sucking all the juice from the esc and shutting it down. You can get a castle creations bec for like 23 bucks and I bet it will solve your problems.

RE: Too Much Yellow Top Oven Cleaner??
I replied to you on the other forum but It would be good to post it here as well Use Greased Lightning, is far less caustic than oven cleaner or Drano. It takes a little longer to work but is much safer. One other thing I forgot to mention is the Novak does have a built in 5 amp bec where as the Tekin does not.

RE: Tekin FXR/Rooster Crawler
well I have both so here are the differences from what I can see. Novac 1 easy to program 2 has lipo cutoff or you run reg stick packs ( two different cut off settings) 3 has a large heat sink 4 only 2c capable for lipos Tekin fxr 1 easy to program 2 lipo cutoff is programmable 3 esc is very small making it easy to mount it tight chassis 4 is capable of running 3c lipos (more power) both will do the job well but the tekin has more versatility

RE: Falcon 41
I do have that hardware set and itwas ok but, I changed out my strut to use a ferulle stype as I lost 2 complete driveshafts and props doht!![X(] This is what I had before, it was ok but the fastest I had the boat up to with this setup was 55 so as pain,an said a skeg strut may help it better. this is after, just a different strut housing with the same rudder. coo,l thanks for the quick reply. I would be mostly running by myself and I am into scale but if the 2.2 is more capable then I may start with that chassis and build from there.

Hi all, question for ya. What is the difference between the scx10 kit and the ax10 kit? I'm interested in getting into crawling so any input on motors and esc's would also be greatly appreciated. I have no problem with building a kit I would just like to not waste money.[;)]

I foung a new bright hummer in the trash and couldn't resist snagging the body off of it. I know the first time I roll it it's toast, but it will loog good on the shelf anyway. Does anyone have pics of a 5b with the proline bug body, I'm thinking about getting one but would like some feedback before shelling out over $100 on a piece of lexan. RE: 41 Falcon cat
MrFreeze and painman are your 257 carbs modded, I have a feeling that makes a difference (mine is modded). Also make sure you guys cut your rudders, all of these rudders come super long! Mine is modded, I know I can get more out of it by shotening the pipe and playin with some props. The other thing I'm not happy with is the sponsons they are dead flat, they realy need to be tappered to help it track better at high speed. RE: 41 Falcon cat
ORIGINAL: pcg33k Hey Mr. Freeze just a friendly suggestion that I learned the hard way with my gps. You may want to put some type of flotation on it or tie it to the hull. I lost my gps once when my boat flipped over the canopy went one way and my gps went another. $65 went to the bottom of the pond. I know have my gps wrapped in pool noodle taped and plastic ties so if it does get flung out at least it won't sink. I'm still thinking of tying it to the hull.
thanks for mentioning it , but what you can't see in that pic is I have the tether cord attached to a 10" piece of pool noodle stuck under the deck.[:D]

RE: 41 Falcon cat
Got run my Falcon yesterday not as good as I was hoping but I was only able to get a few runs on it so there is alot of tuning left to do. Right now my set up is a whh m5 with 257carb and 105 header and hot pipe set at 12". I can see I can go much shorter, next time out will be at 11 1/2". In the prop department I was using an aluminum 1-6 pitch 70mm dia prop, again need to try some different props to see what else I can squeeze out it. Most runs where in the mid fifties.
