Nice, wish it was an AC but I too like Rico Offshore. [;)] what's up with the flat spot on the crank?

Blast cat is a better rough water boat because it sucks down to the water surface. R42 is faster because it doesn't suck down. [8D]

My Lazer is a 45", I just figured out your 75 mph lazer 40, it was a custom build, actually 39" if I remember right. Andy made it special for Don Betz, the D in M&D. [;)]

RE: M&D Design G260 Modified Zenoah (Cant decide on what Hull)
I have 3 M&D's, my favorite is my 260 in an AC lazer, races hard, very perdictable and Andy's workmanship is second to none. [;)] Blazer hydro would be cool too. Don't forget though hydro's only like to turn hard to the right, they will veer left but not hard lefts. Insane or AC cat would be fun as well.

RE: 56
I would try a Zen but leave the shaft where it is, that is where the boat was designed for. Or a strong Homelite. Mac's were never really strong as boat motors. A stock 260 with pipe and your same set up and even your same prop will bring the smile back. [;)]

RE: Help Please!
If you have an Ace just buy a soldering iron and fix it yourself. I only use a soldering iron for cables as Gas can get too hot, with an iron no chance of over heating! [;)]

RE: What engine is this? 230 or 231
The cooling fins tell the story. New 260's are about $210 now, mounts, clutch, throttle all the same, even the crank is the same. So if you want to change over it is fairly simple. The clutch shouldn't have slowed you down, double check everything is lining up right, sound like you might have some binding.

RE: Rx Lipo and reg vs Nimh
Sounds like something is wrong with your charger or batteries. My boats use 300 ma/h max so a 2800 pack would last over 8 hours of continuos driving! Mah's are the same across battery types so an 1100 mah pack should last less than half the time your 2800 pack did unless something was seriously wrong with the 2800 pack. Most RX's are not voltage sensitive but servo's are very sensitive, make sure yours are rated for the LiFe pack. Lastly make sure your charger is up to the job! [:)]

RE: sigma 51 version 2
strong rudder servo, 1/4 scale would be good. Straight pushrod, and make sure your "in on the servo horn and out on the rudder horn" for maximium torque. If it still hooks after that tilt the bottom of the rudder to the right, but straight is better.

What Idle screw? Set the idle with the radio and remove the factory screw, that way you can shut it down with the trasmitter!

RE: Boat buoyancy – What do you use currently and Why?
Andy should know, he used to offer 2 part foam flotation as an option! I mostly use pool noodles but there are ways to use 2 part foam safely. 1. on cowls, no seams to burst and it will never "fall off" 2. In the hull where is can safely expand in 3D and will not sit in water for hours, like a 2" bead along the seam where it doesn't touch the deck or the bottom.

RE: What radio system do you guys use?
Fly sky GT3b here too works great! Frsky are good as well but I think they are only building add ons so far.
i had the boat crash three times before i realized what was going on
you should have set the failsafe, any radio is only as good as the owner holding onto it. [:)]

RE: need help on a zen G260PUM
Leave the 2 on the low, rich on the low might save your engine if you ever loose water. (20:1 fuel mix) play with the high for wideout throttle, use a tach or GPS as sound is not enough. In my experience lean sounded faster but slightly rich was really faster by GPS. [;)]

I would make the widest point further forward, yours looks like an arrow and will do funny things in the corners. Homelite 28% CG, stock Zenoah 30% cg mod Zenoah or QD 32-33% CG. 50" boat & Homelite I would be going 28% CG and a biggggg prop.

RE: TRIM TABS OR TRIM STRUT
play with the strut height both up and down, go to extremes, like 1/2" from level and give it a run each time. Sometimes raising the strut settles the hull down, some times lowering the strut pushes the nose down, sometimes lowering the strut lifts the whole boat. I would not put tabs on a cat, drag like you think. After that tape a piece of foam in the front of the tunnel, about 1/4" to 1/2" thick.

RE: broken hull
Most Prather Gas hulls are epoxy. get some west systems epoxy, some cloth and patch the hole. Then mix epoxy and micro ballons to make a paste to use as a sandable filler.
