RE: Premix gas life
You don't need 91 octane and run more oil, oil is like insurance in one of these little engines. Lower Octane runs cooler.

RE: 50 inch mono prop opinions
Your exhaust is holding you back, it is not tuning properly to give you a big boost like a good tuned pipe will. Carbs will only get you so far, props you have to pick like your running a muffler not a pipe. A good pipe would really get you going a lot better.

RE: Octura question
Your pics don't show up for me. Yes it is a bit square, not sure about your bump though. It is a great mono and cat prop that is easy to work and cheap on the wallet. I was running one on my Razor on the weekend and it looked very promising, need the GPS tp confirm what I was seeing.

I have drilled and tapped that hole, not too hard to do and lot's of meat there to tap into. Make sure you get a bottoming tap and measure carefully.

RE: Help with a Razor 45
I have both Lazer and Razor, I think the Razor would be quicker with a stock engine. Athough the RCMK's are stock engines they have a lot of mods right from the factory. It would probably clear things up if you said what "Stock motor" your going to run. [;)] I agree with Brian on the scoop hatch, I siezed a motor in my Razor running without a hatch. At the 07 gas nats there were a couple of Super Sport Razors running close to 55 with stock Sikks through canister mufflers! [8D]

RE: C of G ?
CG is measured off the bottom, not the deck, just measure and calculate it from the running surface.

RE: 50 inch mono prop opinions
A X470/3 is a good all around mono prop and cheap and a little more pitch but still cheap is a X670 2 blade.

RE: 50 inch mono prop opinions
P270 is over rated in pitch, a X472 is bigger diameter and more pitch.

RE: exhaust port timing?
Generally on a 25.4 cc Zenoah, Cy, RCMK stock engine, if you measured from the exhaust flange down the CENTER LINE of exhausts flow to the START of rear cone. ( End of band ) you fall in the @ 12 1/2 - 13 1/2" range.
Thank you Scott, I have been trying to drive that home for months, only to get set backs from the guys that measure straight back. Back on topic though, would you recommend the Cooper regular pipe for a stock motor due to it's smaller diameter and larger band?

RE: 1st day on the water story
I would pull the fuel tank out and try to shove them up front on ether side. Sometimes you need to pull the engine to get them into the back as well.

Another compliment for grabbing a life jacket, as you expierenced the adrenaline flowing to get your boat sometimes overshadows common sense. Pool noodles Corrosion X for your radio gear should bring it back to life. [;)]

That looks like a complete MidWest built boat, Cornell did that radio box set-up on all his builds.

RE: Im a tennis ball Marksman !!
Tie the tennis ball to a boot lace, leave the rod home, hold reel in one hand spin the tennis ball holding the boot lace about 2 feet from tennis ball and release as it comes around toward dead boat. Easier on the shoulders and sails futher than most can cast, plus takes up minimal space when not in use. [8D]

RE: Runs good on land
You can't tune it without a load (as your finding out) Set your carb like Dan said and remember "Rich runs, lean dies" And I agree, mix some good gas with better oil. (20:1 or richer) Your probably at about 50:1 with that crap oil.

Cornell from Mid-West built and sold a Putty motor, it was good enough that they made it illegal and had to move up a class. [8D]

RE: Best gas engines/mods
In my opinion you get what you pay for from the engine modders, go cheap and you will never see what max power can be. I do a lot of my own but I do own a few pro mods as well, Scott's instructions are all you need to do your own.

You should have the rods supported if they are too long. I have been using CF to cover the longer rods for my rudders. Bike spokes work good too.
