Cyclone Hot Bodies
Does this sound like a good deal? I know nothing about touring cars but I want one. Thanks [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270131815533&rd=1&rd=1]Cyclone[/link]

RE: Associated RC8
So many people think a car has to LOOK a certain way to be the best. With your eyes can you tell the which car is better: OFNA 9.5 or Kyosho SP2 ??? No. On the track...Oh yea!! A lot of people think the Losi 8ight is the dominant 8th scale right now. Do they win ALL the races??? no. Stastically, you can infer that all the current 8th scales are still equal performers. All manufactors can do now is focus more on innovative ways to make the chassis more user friendly and durable.

RE: Will I ever be a National Level racer? Probably not
Some people are naturals. Adam Drake for example has a friend take him to a race track in the early 90's and show him an RC car. Two years later he's a pro level sponsored driver. Xray driver Jason Branum picks up a car and now is blistering fast. IMHO at the two year mark, your racing skill level is close to its plateau. I now realize that I'm no natural racer, so I'm trying to find ways to go beyond my plateau that I'm stuck at right now.

Will I ever be a National Level racer? Probably not
Have you ever wondered why some guys are so fast on the track? A lot of people like to believe Pavidis, Tebo, Caveleri, Mayfield and the rest of the National A-main'ers are fast because they have super dailed cars, modded engines and the best electronics. However, thats only a very small part of it. Others like to believe that those guys have been racing longer. Thats only a small part of it. I tend to believe you are nearly as good as you will ever be by your second year of racing. That still doesn't answer the question, "Why are those guys so fast?". Remotely controlling a car is 99% hand and eye coordination(reaction speed) which is inherent but can be improved with practice. Knowing what to do and when to do it is what it takes to keep a car on its wheels. Split second decisions make the difference. The really fast guys also have the ability to filter out the distractions, such as pressure from a following opponents. Distractions such as a racer gaining on you reduces you reaction time, and if you can't control this distraction you will end up on your roof. If you really want to be fast racer, you should spend less time setting up your car and spend more time setting up your mind.

I'm pretty sure that the 777 will stick around for a little while longer. They are in the process of testing huge bore 15mm shocks for it right now.

RE: Losi 8ight servos
Sell your 8ight and buy another 8ight. I kid you not. My buddy and I bought and built our 8ights at the same time. I've been running 8th scale for 5 years so I know how to setup a linkage. But anyway, I went through 2 KO 2366 servos, one jr 650 and an old jr 590 on my throttle. I was on the grid desparately trying every possible adjustment to prevent it but it kept happening. Meanwhile my buddy who knows very little about linkage setup has never had one fail. Some 8ights eat them and some don't.

RE: OS Vspec question.....here we go again
I'm pretty sure that this engine wasn't taken care of properly. For one thing, my engines are never dry inside. You have to run a good quality fuel and/or use a good after run oil to prevent dry starts. Friction=Wear. If an engine is well lubricated and kept within a safe temperature range, it lasts forever. RC "forever" is over 50 million rotations of the engine's cycle or 7+ gallons. I'll post some pictures of my Vspec and my RB S5 when I break them down this weekend, they both look polished on the inside

RE: OS Vspec question.....here we go again
FACT: The V-Spec is the Official "Internet Engine to Bash". I've had Novas, RB's and Sirio engines go bad prematurely and so has thousands of other people but it doesn't get posted. My buddy has a brand new WS7III that Jim Hottinger calls a four minute motor because it mysteriously dies around the four minute mark. All engines are man-made and can have problems. I don't see whats the problem with swirl marks on the back plate because all my motors have had it. The engines are built to have the closest possible tolerance and this is part of the wearing-in process.

RE: how long has your OS vzb-v spec lasted
donbeatya, I glad you posted that CEO Mods link. I didn't know they had soooo many services. I've had a brand new V-Spec for a few months now because I was too afraid to break it in because that is the definate "make it or break it" stage of the powerful V-Spec. I have no patience for engine break in[:D]

RE: the best and worst about this hobby.
The best things about the hobby is being around people with common interests. Long weekends, big races, burgers and hot dogs on the grill, the smell of nitro in the air. The adrenline rush right before your heat or main. The worst.....Having a run-away and can't move or yell run-away!![X(], all you can do is hold the brake on your transmitter (like that really helps). Very embarrassing.....and also the cost of CA.

RE: When will we see the Losi 8ight???
The power of confidence is great. I recently switched from Jammin to Kyosho and I've been on fire since I bought my sp2. I have many people around me wanting to buy an sp2 now because of my sudden performance boost. RC Racing is a very mental sport, thats why sometimes you can drive flawlessly and all of a sudden you wreck once and go down hill from there or (bad start = bad qualifier). When you wreck, you shatter that force of confidence. If you buy a car expecting to be faster, you probably will be faster. Just be sure to give credit where credit is due and its you and not the car. With that being said, I look forward to lapping many Losi 8s in the future. Kyosho for life[:D] Fasterplease- Alison offroad is my home track. I am painting two losi bodies right now for this weekend, its going to be a great race. www.alisonoffroad.com

Please help, I've been running a jr 590 in my T4 but for tomorrow I wanted to borrow a KO digital 2366 out of buggy and I didn't know if it would be safe. Most servos say 6.0v and a 3600mah pack says 7.2v or 8.4v and Im confused by this. Can someone help me to understand, thanks.
