RE: mud duck and build threads
ORIGINAL: lpkorpas1 I am considering building a 108" Mud Duck from either plans or their kit. As the plane is foam, I hav a few questions: Haqs anyone built one of these from plans... up that worked awesome in a relatively stock Mud Duck MkII, in the words of the builder: "Now... in the evenings at 732-441-3727. Jack: Glad to hear your almost ready to get your Duck airborne, good

RE: Mud Duck MKII Build
; wheels to be used with a 1/4" axle. Could these be used on the Mud Duck?
Sure... are more appropriate. They are part of the Mud Duck charm. Made progress on the wings. will post some pictures soon.
I share the same opinion... A duck with out the innertube wheels just doesn't... application but why bother on a Duck? You would have to change the axle, either add 1/4"

If it is about the same power as a .91 then you should still have plenty of fun with it. Based on customer consensus, the optimum glow engine is a 1.20 four-stroke, although I have heard of a great range of glow engines being used satisfactorily (from .40 deisels, to Super Tigre 3000's). Greg

Rick, I just checked my forums and found your post from the other day. I'm sorry I do not get to check the forums every day and it doesn't email me to let me know that there was a post. But I checked all my email records and I can't find any emails from you. Again, I am sorry that I didn't get to respond to your post on the forums. Greg

RE: What paint/clear coat can I use on foam board? Starting to build a Mud Duck!
Just some feedback:
ORIGINAL: Devil_Inside I am starting to build a Mud Duck MKII as soon as the plans arrive in the mail, and I am trying to get all the bits and pieces I will need for the build. The biggest challenge so far has been choosing the correct paint and clear coat finish that will resist on raw fuel (15%) and is suitable for use on Foam core board. Can you suggest what to use

you not to use the Mud Duck as a "trainer". I do not market the Mud Duck as a "... and I would not want to teach someone to fly on the Mud Duck. The Mud Duck can not fly inverted due to the undercambered wing, that right

RE: Mud Duck modifications??
Hi Sean, The 26cc engine should be perfectly fine. I have had customers put up to 31cc gas engines (Ryobi's) on them and have tons of fun. The MkII has a short nose and requires nose weight with a glow engine on it, so the extra weight from a gas engine is welcome. The only thing you will probablu have to mod is the firewall. The nose is set up for a horizontal mount for glow engines, (assuming you were going to mount radially) you would need to just lop off the segment off the nose for the horizontal motor plate (mount) and make the firewall from the plywood vertically and add some triangle stock around the inside perimeter for added surface area for your glue bonds. (this may make more sence once you get the plans and manual and see what the nose looks like. Since I added the ailerons to the new plans as an option, most builders have incorporated them into their planes. Greg

RE: Contacting Mud Duck Aviation Problems?
Constrictor, The Mud Duck line are not made of Coroplast or plastic which essentially excludes it from SPAD (Simple Plastic Airplane Designs), they are made from FoamCor board. A matter of semantics yes, but the reason I posted here. Maybe I took your question as if it were in a bad tone... in the past from modelers who thought it was just a tiny Mud Duck and would fly slow and stable

Contacting Mud Duck Aviation Problems?
Hi Everyone, Some modelers have contacted me via email requesting information and pricing on kits and plans only not to hear back from me (I assume). This is because on a few occasions some of the modelers who contact me have some kind of blocking in their email program or the providers are blocking email from my address (or server). I get a return email saying it has been rejected. As that is the only contact information I have for the modeler, I have tried to contact them again through a hotmail account, but I never get another response. If you are one of the individuals who tried to contact me and never heard back, I apologize, it is not intentional. I currently do not have a dedicated phone line for the business and would prefer email as a form of contact right now for basic inquiries, I will provide my cell number via email for more comprehensive inquiries. If you try to contact me via my main email address and don't hear back in a couple of days, please check to make sure your mail program isn't blocking addresses ending with !QUOT!optonline.net!QUOT! and try to email me at the hotmail address (and make sure that isn't blocked as well. Worst case scenario, leave a reply post here and I will give you the information. This is only temporary until I get the website online and have the email forwarding system working on it. Main e-mail: mudduck@optonline.net Back up : mudduckaviation@hotmail.com Website : [link=http://www.mudduckaviation.com]www.mudduckaviation.com[/link] Coming Soon Sorry for the inconvenience guys, I will try to have this problem resolved soon. Thanks, Greg
