Huckin' in Hamburg PA 3D Event!!!
How does unlimited 3D access on an 1800' runway sound? Good? I thought so... The Farview RC Flyers located in Hamburg, Pennsylvania are hosting an ALL OUT 3D extravaganza July 9th-11th, 2010. If you've seen the pics from the 2009 IMAA Rally of the Giants, you know how awesome this field is. 1800' long, 400' wide, unlimited flyover in every direction, space is NOT an issue, so SPREAD THE WORD! All size aircraft welcome! Big, small, electric, anything! Also, very important! This event will be 2.4GHz ONLY! At this time no 72MHz frequencies are allowed to operate at the flying site (due to another flying site in close proximity) but 2.4GHz makes life easier anyway, so consider it a plus! Details are still being finalized, but we want it BIG. Tell your friends, tell your dogs, tell EVERYONE! Camping will be available all weekend, along with food, and lots and lots of music. the yak in the simulator is a 1/4 scale, so no, it doesnt really fly like a 100cc yak. I fly an 87" EF yak and a 120" 3W yak, in my eyes, the g3 yak is closest to the EF, but still has flaws. To guess how a big yak will fly, just think of the g3 yak, but like 5 times better. They roll great, float pretty good, and fly well all around. Plus they look awesome, round cowl = round engine = cool haha

have you tried the online multiplayer? I would be happy to teach you online, much easier, you can watch stick movements. The plane will stall, you just have to correct. If the left wing drops, add some right aileron and a little right rudder. Right wing drops, add left aileron and left rudder. You might have to work the elevator and throttle to keep the right AOA, one throttle and elevator position probobly wont work. It might on the sim, but in real life it's never perfectly dead calm.

it works, i use it when im not using my joystick. all the flight controls are the same, stick wise.. i use the 3 position for elevator trim, top is up, bottom is down, center is neutral. another switch is brakes, dial is flaps, and other switch changes views.

i actually like the stock Yak 54 (3d throws and surfaces) with the right amount of expo, it's darn near perfect. the only other plane i like is 50% Edge that was just released not too long ago, those are pretty much all i fly on G3. i do like to fly some of the other edits people made, just for a laugh. they say how they fly just like 40%ers, lawl haha rofl lmao if my big yak flew like that, id sell it in a heartbeat.[8D]

Yesterday the MTW 110K cannisters and new headers showed up on the front porch. We started installing them, there is an imac next weekend, hopefully it will be done by then. I am thinking, maybe with the right length headers, maybe it wont get so hot inside the plane?

MSelig, Sorry you have to be going through this, 50%Plane is the most DIE-HARD fan of G3 that there could possibly ever be. I haven't found any info about FS-One to be faulty. Just ignore him, and continue with your job. If i had the money, i would def. be getting FS-One. It looks very promising. Also, about the 3DSmax model making thingy, G3 didnt have it at first either, and people said the same thing. That it would take "forever" to come out. I am sorry you have to put up with 50%, but hey, i can't do anything about it.

IF you are just starting i would suggest G3. it's better for the beginners, with the virtual flight instructor and stuff BUT for working on freestyles and IMAC routines, and perfecting manuvers, i use AFPD.

yea, i didnt buy the tensor though. I won it in a foamy freestyle contest at the youth masters. I figured i would buy that size motor/esc combo for it, then use it on another small foamy when it's done (which wouldn't be long if it's so fragile haha) I remember hearing lots of people saying that when they land the thing it tends to "explode" [:)]

Tensor and Rimfire?
Hi all, I guess you can call the Tensor foamy a 'profile' But i was wondering if the rimfire outrunner from Great Planes/Electrifly would work good on it along with their ESC? I'd like to build it light, but i dont feel like making it CRAZY light, just not heavy. [:)] Also, would those tiny little 7 gram servos work? or are they too light, and go with HS-55's? or the HS-65's? Thanks all, Scott

i have the EXACT same problem, the trim however stopped doing that, dunno how it fixed itself though. However, for the brakes, i just tap Y to go into slew mode, and then back out right away and the brakes go off, but can still be applied.
