Why don't they just put airplane parts under the airplane section, and engine parts under the engine section. Having a separate section for "Parts" just seems silly, to me.

RE: Fuel Pump Questions v2.0
ORIGINAL: Hobbsy The regulators come with a check valve that pressurizes the tank using muffler pressure on a fourstroke and crankcase pressure on a two stroke and when you see the tank bulge, even one of those stiff walled Sullivans you'll see that there is plenty of pressure to regulate. Since the check valve traps the peak of the pressure pulses in the crankcase or muffler the pressure is considerable. PS, it would not have been, ''hi jacking'' since it is the same topic.[8D]
OK, so, the regulators do help to increase the flow of fuel from a tank located further back than normal. Right? Just not with a pumping action? Oh, and Hobbsy, don't you have that backwards? Muffler pressure on a two stroke, and crankcase pressure on a four stroke? Thanks, for all the replys, everyone, EJ

Fuel Pump Questions v2.0
I didn't want to high-jack [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=10761644&key=]this[/link] other thread. So... Why is it, whenever someone asks a question concerning pumps for glow engines, inevitably the regulators are suggested? What good is a "regulator" if there isn't enough fuel available from the tank to the carb? There's nothing to regulate. Or, am I missing some ability of these "regulators"? Thanks, EJ

RE: Learning Progress to more manuvers , planes?
A trainer should be capable of all basic maneuvers. If not, have an experienced r/c pilot try them, to see if the plane is really capable, or possibly set up incorrectly. If the plane checks out, you may need more instruction. At our club, we have held competitions using trainers and inexpensive sport planes, in a fun-type pattern contest. Most of the planes listed above were used, ie. the Avistar, Sky Raider Mach 1, among others, all performed the Sportsman Pattern sequences. A NEXStar has even been used. Doesn't like inverted, but it will do it. Keep practicing, and good luck. EJ

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I'm having some difficulties getting my older model Fa80 tuned. Using this method, with a metal arm...
ORIGINAL: Hobbsy ... if it is a metal arm, set it even with the end of the throttle barrel. Its easiest to set the LS with the HS needle at absolute peak. If you attempt to set the LS needle with the HS rich you end up chasing the needles all over the place. It will end up about where this one is.
... there appears to be a rather large gap, between the end of the LS needle, and the open end of the spraybar. It looks to be about a sixteenth to three-thirty-seconds of an inch (see diagram). In order to get anywhere close to a lean-ish low-end, I have to turn the LS needle in a long way. Do I have an equipment problem? Approximately how much of a gap does yours have, when tuned properly? Thanks, EJ

Using mixed rudder in calm or mild breezes will help the LOOK of your turns. But, won't help your skill level. Moderate to high wind conditions will require rudder know-how to make those coordinated turns look nice. Learn it early. You will thank yourself down the road. EJ

How they should move was obvious, to me. They just didn't, at first. While we're on the subject, should I tone down the rudder? Some comments I've read, said you really shouldn't need rudder, if the plane is set up correctly. EJ

V-Tail actions are reversed.
I am building/assembling my first V-Tail aircraft. I have connected the servos to the appropriate channel on the Rx. I cannot get my DX-7 to operate the elevators and rudders correctly. V-Tail is turned on, of course, and when the elevators move in the correct direction the rudders are reversed, or visa-versa. What am I missing? Thanks, EJ

Yeah, it's another attempt to find a kit. I've seen lots of OLD threads, guys looking for plans and kits. But, with the movie "Amelia" out, there seems to be interest, again. RE: So, you can’t see the lights?
The cable ends are flush with the fuse, and, again, I used a couple drops of canopy glue to keep the cables in place. Even in the brightly lit meeting room, the club members in the back of the room could still see the lighted cable end. Up close, outside, there’s no problem seeing the light. Now, after checking for any abnormal lights, I can safely turn off the switch, knowing all was well on that flight. Remember: You are making changes to a piece of equipment that is not sanctioned by the manufacturer, and will probably void the warranty. Attempting this operation, is at your own risk. I cannot be responsible for your ability to complete the operation safely. However, if you do try it, let us know how yours goes. Mine works fine. Good luck, EJ

As you might expect, this operation is completely at your own risk. And, would probably void any warranty. So, don’t attempt it, unless you’re prepared to pay the price. I used a drill size that would allow a relatively snug fit for the fiber cable. I used 1mm cable, that I picked up off Ebay, cheap.
