RE: Make a Video of a REDCAT Jumping & You can win a Vehicle
Shucks.... i went to hard yesterday trying to make a jump vid and did the worst crash i have ever had. Didn't break as many things as i thought, but did lose a dogbone, which is usually always what keeps me from being able to run it. So i guess im gonna have to pass on this contest, but i will be looking forward to another. [:D] GL everyone else.

ha [:D] Yea i straighten my shafts out until they are pretty much perfectly straight. So they will last a long time. But yea the vise is important in straightening.

Just put the shafts in a vice and bend or hammer them straight... And order a new one because they will soon snap.

damn it nobody has any Hurricanes that have the yellow/black body!! That sucks! I don't like the white green body, only way i would like it is if i changed out the wheels and spoiler with white ones.

I don't know has anyone ever actually broken a aluminum arm? They look really beefy...unlike the aluminum shocktowers which bend all the time for me.. but i can just bend them back.. One other reason i don't like the hurricane pro is because the windows are not see through like they are on the xp, i think it makes the buggy look soo much better when the windows are clear (looks kinda tacky otherwise). What do you guys think??

I was wondering if you guys think i should get the Hurricane Xp or PRO? I know which is better but are the aluminum upgrades worth the money? Are the more durable than the plastic arms on the XP? I also don't get why redcat didn't clear out the windows on the PRO... but they cleared the windows out on the xp...which is cheaper. Do you get a FM radio with the XP or is that just the pro? And how much better is the FM radio? Any glitchy? Good range?

Look at these pics anybody have the spur gear like mine, with the smaller hole for JUST the OWB? I don't have the hex for the other spur gear like in the other pic so i am stuck asking around for a redcat distributer with a gear like mine..... [:o] I hope i am not alone with this confusion. edit lol forgot to upload the pics [:D] cant really diagnose anything without pics

RE: Redcat vehicle repair/tune FAQ
Ugh just accidentally stripped both gears on my tranny cause i didn't screw the tranny in tight enough, actually i hardly even screwed it in (in a rush). [:@] But i was wondering i ordered a 47t spur gear a while ago as a spare and i couldn't use it cause i noticed it has a hole for a hex...and my spur gear that is in the car just has a hole for the OWB. Now my question is who can i order from that will have the 47t spur gear with just the hole for the OWB and not the hex. Do you have any clermont? As i speak i am trying to customize my hex from the pullstart to fit in the spur gear.

Thanks a lot ehroof! Ehroof, from my tornado bb vid could you tell if my buggy is running too lean? I am not sure i have no idea how to tell besides the smoke and engine tone. It has a good bit of nice blue smoke but for some reason i feel its too lean.

RE: Redcat vehicle repair/tune FAQ
I think Redcat and himoto take the designs of good brands like kyosho and hpi and they alter them a bit of their own for the better. And they sell them cheaper because cost of labor is less in china. But yea i love redcat! Even though they have flaws(like every manufacturer) they still are worth every single penny.

Ehh.. my good video filmer will be gone all week so the soonest i can get a video is next sunday, not this sunday. But i promise it will be even better than the last video, i am gonna go to this huge park nearby with a lot of sand, dirt, and endless soccer fields. But hey ehroof can you explain more about how to install the 13/18t clutch bell, and you said something about pics.

RE: Redcat vehicle repair/tune FAQ
Dang i can't see a single thing in the pics. But it looks like the clutch had a bad day. [:)] Great news guys! Just ported my cylinder sleeve and crankshaft today and boy it is alive now. Never ported before, 1st time so i took it easy and did some minor porting and polishing. But it screams like crazy now, super fast accleration and the most speed ive ever gotten out of my 1st gear. Bad news is 2 way clutch drive is still acting weird. It will switch but once its switched it usually stays in second gear unless you totally stop it. I think it needs a little wd-40. Right now i don't have enough space to get top speed out of 2nd gear especially since i just ported it. But since the porting job was a great success i am going to make another video tommorow and hopefully on sunday.

RE: Best RedcatRacing Vid
Man movie editing (excuse my french) is a bitch. Windows movie maker is pretty simple but some things about it are very very very annoying. When i was editing my vid the program crashed on me atleast 10 times, luckily it automatically saved my file every few min. And caused my comp to freeze badly many times, and i have a pretty fast computer (for racing simulators). I wish i had a better program for editing videos but i'm not sure whats decent besides movie maker. Soo.... yea editing is fun and annoying at the same time, get a good program and im sure it will be a piece of cake.. Oh and ehroof how does clermontmotorsports sponsor you? I want to be sponsored. [:(]

RE: Best RedcatRacing Vid
Hey ehroof i saw some of your vids on Redcat's site! Nice!! You have almost every single redcat ever built! Your son is one lucky little boy. See i'm 15 and i have to buy everything and do all the work and repair but i get to do all the driving![;)] You have to buy all the cars and parts, do all the work and you still let your son drive it all the time, sounds like your a awesome father! But nice looking hurricane and sounds powerful too. What type of body do you have on your hurricane? Its really nice! Im thinking about upgrading to a hurricane maybe next christmas! Unless my gokart building project leaves me broke as a joke. [&:] Im gonna do another vid this week before spring break. Then during spring break ill be attempting to port my .18 cylinder sleeve..... Hope i don't screw up. Im in definite need of a new exhaust pipe.....Maybe if i make enough promotional vids for redcat, redcatracing will sponsor me and send me free parts and a new hurricane! Hint Hint[:)] lol Thanks ehroof
