RE: Convert NiMH Tamiya to Deans?
I learned the hard way!!! Melted the tamiya connector completely with a 2s 4000mah 25c lipo so I just purchased deans connectors and soldered them on my caldera 10e and have not had a problem!!!

I know it wouldn't cause the bearing issue but it'll probably help with the spur gear issue I've been having which for me leads to the bearing issue!!!

RE: Bearing removal help???
No not melted!!! This is the second time I have had to replace my spur gear the first time I tried using a flat head and the bearing came right apart so I just replaced the whole unit... At $22 bucks a pop the whole unit is a little pricey to keep replacing so I bought a couple of individual spur gears from urc hobby and just having trouble removing the bearings from the shaft that the spur gear connects to... It just doesn't want to break free from the shaft and I'm afraid if I apply to much pressure the bearing will fall apart again... I keep chewing up spur gears!!!

Can't go wrong with the Caldera 10E!!! The only issue I have had was that the steering servo went out and I replaced it with a Futaba!!! If I'm not mistaken Redcat addressed the servo problem correct??? Great bashing truck!!!

RE: Redcat Caldera or Stampede 4X4 Brushless
I own the caldera 10E and let me tell you that thing can take a beating!!! I've been bashing it for about 4 months and still have not broke any of the stock parts!!! I also own the 2wd drive stampede and I probably would not have bought that truck due to the fact that you just can't keep the front wheels on the ground!!! Its even worse if you use lipos!!! I'm a huge fan of the caldera 10E and the upgraded aluminum parts are fairly inexpensive!!!

RE: your opinions?
I'm still fairly new to this hobby but my first RC truck was a redcat caldera 10E!!! I also have a traxxas stampede vxl but I like the redcat better!!!! U can't beat the price for the amount of power you get with it and they are very durable!!! The only 2 things I have had to replace is the steering servo but its is tomy understanding that redcat has addressed this issue and now supply the caldera 10E with a new more durable servo and the spur gear which was my fault!!!! I was using a 3s lipo battery and it was to much power for the plastic spur gear!!! I now use a 2s lipo pack and have had no further problems!!! I love the caldera 10e and will be a redcat fan for a long time!!!!
