New to RC Boats, thinking of getting a Shockwave 26
Hi, As said I am new to rc boats, NOT RC in general, and I would like to get my first. I have recently moved to the Dominican Republic and have a large pond near my house as well as going to the beach on weekends! I have been looking around and am especially interested in the ProBoat Shockwave 26 BL RTR, I want electric FOR SURE and BL. IS this a decent boat to start? I have heard of prop breaking issues but in theory that has been corrected with a metal prop now, correct? Anything I should look out for? Now for the real noob question, how do you get ur boat back if ur battery dies or ESC fries or whatever!!!?? How do LIPO cutoffs work in boats? Does it cut and give you enough power to get back to shore? Will running on the beach be a problem? I know I cant do speed runs with waves and such and I should wipe it down with fresh water after running, anything else to look out for? Thanks guys!

RE: F4.6 dyn 086
How is your engine running with the 086? Mine gets kinda hot and has pretty bad low end, had to go to the 16t CB and still could be better I think!

Savage at the beach
Hi guys. Ive been away from my savage for about 3 months since I moved to another country but will be visiting home for the holidays and want to bring my Savage back with me. I definitely want to run it the beach here and want some pointers... Im very familiar with the regular maintenance of clean it down and grease the bearing after it being in contact with sand and clean air filter. Anything else? I want to run some Proline 40 series Trencher tires, thoughts? I dont want to invest in expensive sand paddles for only a couple outings to the beach, the rest of its use will be general bashing at local parks and at the track. Thanks!

Are the flux big bores ok with extreme jumps? Or should I stick to the stock 8 for that?

RE: New power for the X... Force 28
Hey BudBud, I just came across what I think is this motor but modded by Clockwork, could you confirm its this engine? https://clockworkracingengines.com/content/clockwork-force-28-sg-4p-wpull-start I saw a truggy running this engine at a track the other day and I was very impressed, it was almost pulling wheelies! Not great for a racing Truggy but seemed like great power and torque for a Savage! Thanks

RE: clutch shoes?
Im running the VP Pro aluminum shoes which I bought off Amain at 12.99$, they fit the stock flywheel just fine and are pretty solid performers!

Yeah at the moment I think my best bet is just leave numbered boxes and say Mom Dad ship box 3,4 and 6 when the time comes or something like that!

Decision time.... help!!
Hi guys! I have a decision to make and need some help, maybe you are seeing something I am not! Let me put you into context, Im moving out of my parents house, currently living in Spain and moving to the Dominican Republic this Sunday! To make a very long story short I recently graduated from college, had a job offer to begin working there and due to major restructuring of the company need to wait 6-12 months until beginning work there, solution? screw them and look for work elsewhere, there, in the DR. As I said I a moving next Sunday and giving myself a period of 3 months to find a job, if all fails I would come back however I have some interviews lined up which will hopefully be succesful. Now the big a most important question of all!! What do I do with my Rc cars?! hahaha... I currently have a Savage (great to bash with as you all know) and a Truggy (good to race and go to tracks with)... To answer the first thing that comes to your mind, are there decent tracks there? YES, specifically a very decent (or so I have heard, havent actually seen it) 1/8 scale off road track where races take place. My options are the following: 1/ Take nothing 2/ Take radio (DX3r) + servos to buy something at some point and at least have good electronics 3/ Take my Savage, would need option 2, the actual truck, the rotostart, my spare parts and I would have to buy a glow ignitor and charger for roto start battery 4/ Take my Truggy (D8T), would need option 2, truck, starter box + gel cell (big and bulky), spare parts and would have to buy battery chargers for gel cell, receiver batteries etc... Just to give some extra info, as soon as I get a job (decent job) which I hope is soon I would be staying for a prolonged period of time, 2+ years. At first I would not have a car (getting to a place to play with my cars without an actual 1:1 car is difficult, taking taxis to the track? maybe at some point a friend that is into it but for now I dont know many people into rc there, I know a few but not a lot), once I get myself a job and am staying for over 3 months I will buy a car and then dilemma over of course. As you can see Im torn! Dont know what to do and of course there is a chance that I come back in 3 months so bringing everything back if I were to take stuff would suck. One of my biggest problems is not having a car to get to places with, how am I going to get stuff to the track etc without my own personal transportation? Those are the options for now plus of course maybe the more sensible one of taking my electronics, getting there, going to the track and seeing what people are running, maybe theres an electric class and just getting something new and going from there, which is probably what Im most inclining towards at the moment! When voting please try to bear in mind all the variables and what each option entails regarding taking more or less equipment. Ive been trying to decide for days! Need some help! follow up your vote with a comment or recommendation! Thanks!!

RE: Gearing combo?
I have to set the motor mount as far left as possible to get a perfect mesh with 16/47, I dont see how I could run a 15, maybe the XL plate is different as you said!

Coat the screw in red thread lock screw in and let dry overnight! Worked great on my dads Summit! It was actually hard to unscrew but came out eventually when I wanted to replace it.

Just to let you know, Im running a stock 47t spur with 16t CB, no problem! But that is definitely the minimum!

Dynamite Big Red .28
I want to get a new engine for my Savage X at some point and I have been considering the Dynamite Big Red for a while, does anybody have any experience with them or run them? Can I still run my 16/47 gearing on it? I heard that the size of the backplate limits the gearing you can run some way. Thanks for the info!!
