RE: 2.5 to 3.3 revo drive shaft question
ORIGINAL: BigDen2.5R The Revo center shafts on the 3.3 are longer than the 2.5. you will need traxxas part# 5456 the 2.5 uses # 5455. The drive shafts from the diffs to the wheels are the same on both.
This is incorrect. Only the front is longer, the rear is the same. i have done this very thing, my now 3.3 chassised revo was a 2.5 chassis. and keep in mind you will also need the longer stearing links, the 2 rods in the middle

RE: Just bought a Revo. What to upgrade 1st?
ORIGINAL: dkastil go all rrp gears from clutch bell and spurr to the forward only trannie gears then up grade all the other parts as they break ,stock revos are verry tough my buddy has done things to his revo that would have killed a rc 10 or xxxnt he ran it into a tree at about 40 and it drove upit and backflipped off with only a bent turnbuckle and one other time he clipped the front right side of the truck on bench at full speed and the front right balls poped out ,we poped the axel hub back in and kept running we almost try and break his revo doing dumb things and it does not break from running into parking blocks to trees it just keeps going .I was so impressed that i got a revo platinum that i dropped a .26 picco red dot all rrp gears and my futaba fasst to go with my xxxnt .
all steel gears in a revo is overkill,, in an older t-maxx sure, but the revo tranny gears are far stronger, dont waste your money! i have an rb 523 in mine and i havnt ever had to replace ANY gear in my trans.. also know several people with big blocks in there revos with no problems.. you'll be wasting alot of money, and adding alot of rotating mass in the trans. it's WELL worth it in the older maxx's, (i know i have one with full rrp gears) isaac

RE: Just bought a Revo. What to upgrade 1st?
the 1st thing i would say would be to switch to aluminum shock rod ends, i was blowning them all the time off jumps, i put a set of golden horizen aluminums on and havnt since. the lunsford parts are also a good idea, for the best duribility in the rear (over the stock toe links) would be to get the rpm true track kit,, also another part i broke alot before swapping

Started to lean the needles a tiny bit and so far the power is wicked, problem with trying to wheelie on pavement is it's spinning the tires at 1/2-3/4 throttle..have to nail it to snap the front up [:D]
btw make sure you properly break that thing in before doing burnouts lol

RE: Need pics of 323/523 install
I ran the rb 323 in my tmaxx (it's now got a 2.5 in it, it's now my wifes truck lol) and i have a 523 in my revo. One thing about these engines in the maxx is that you need a longer throttle link, the little short one that goes from the carb to the little pivot shaft, needs to be longer. The one I used was like 1/2"-3/4" longer then stock, this allowed the carb to be opened to full throttle properly. And as far as the easy start, I didnt have to do anything to get it on, just make sure you put your header on first, you wont have enough room to get the header spring on that side on after the easy start is installed. And for those of you that are putting one in the revo, I didnt have to mod anything, exsept I just had to slightly re-shape the wire that holds the pipe to the rear body mount. I ended up making a custom wire and mounting it to the hole on the right side, rather then the stock center. I didnt have any problems getting the throttle to have the ability to open all the way, however, I am running an fm computer radio that allows me to ajust endpoints, im not sure the stock radio system would be able to be setup for proper full throttle operation. other then that, it's all bolt in. enjoy that power house!

RE: which glowplug for rb323
I have both the rb 323 and the 523, and although i agree about O'donnells being a great fuel, Another great fuel i have had good luck with is Trinity Monster hp 20%. No one around here sells O'donnells and i've always had great lick with trinity. Just stay away from blue crapper, and traxxas trxcraponaor fuel.

RE: I building a rc track. Info needed!!!
Looks good! your well on your way, I agree with the other guys about the bigger lanes, my track (www.northerntierrc.com) is 150'X100' And the smallest section is 8', our straight away is 14' wide and 110' long. It can still get a little hairy in some of our smaller, more technical area's, but I wanted it to be a track for everyone, not just the guy with the biggest engine. And i think we have a good variety of fast, and slower technical stuff. Be patient with it and use what you can get your hands on, we used the normal pipe but you can use alot of other things, your only limited by what you can think up! Even our drivers stand (pics on the site) i built with 100% scrap or donated wood. turned out realy well . Good luck, and if your ever over in this part of Pa. come check out my track! RE: Check out my new track and website!
Thanx for the replys guys, means alot to hear it looks good. beleave it or not we started with not much more then an oval that has been left go,, im talking 4-5 foot tall weeds EVERYWHERE. after a month and a half this is what it looks like, and myself and my wife have done all of the work. So sb13, if you have a place to make something go for it man,, your only limited to your imagination, you can pickup materials fairly cheap, and improvise with what you have. Good luck. RE: Revo 2.5 and 3.3 EZ Start in revo 2.5 with RB 323
there great,, it's just that (for me anyway) that the owb's wouldnt hold up long to the rpm the roto start is great, and always worked great, just all the probs i had with the traxxas owb's maybe with a backplate with a different owb it'd be fine.. the traxxas ez start is great for a beginer, and thats about as far as it goes. over time the wires attaching to the motor will become loose, and begin to fall off, and in time you'll needs a new wire hareness or atleast the clips, also the plug wire that comes with them over time fails. i hve had great luck in replacing that wire end with a very small aligator clip from radio shack (the ones with the boot that goes around them) they always worked great. hope this helps Isaac

RE: pico .26 or rb523?
I've "Heard" (hearsay) that the picco has more bottum end but not as much top end as the rb. Now that the "i've heard" is out of the way,, ill tell you what "I Know" first hand.. I have both the rb 323 and the 523. they both scream and when it comes to top end i ant say i've had anything else that sang such a " high rpm tune", plenty of power, way more then a trx 3.3, but not "gobbs" of power on the low end. however when they get up in rpm,, they realy are a beast. so if your going to be bashing, or running in bigger area's,, the rb would be a great engine, but if your on a smaller tighter track, more low end may be what you need. However gearing your truck down will make up for any difference the rb may have. Oh and btw, I have never had the leaning left turn problem. and to add im running the revo platnuim 150cc tank which has been on the truck since before the rb. goodluck! Isaac

RE: Revo 2.5 and 3.3 EZ Start in revo 2.5 with RB 323
there is no difference. same starter. i had alot of problems with the trx one way bearings, it seems they just wouldnt ever hold up under the rpm's the rb's are capable of putting out. which realy sucks because i loved starting mine with a roto start,, but even with proper cleaning and oiling of the owb (mobil one full syn) they just wouldnt hold up long and would lock up. So now i start mine with an rd logics box.. man is it ever great!

RE: Engine mount for RB323
coming from someone who runs both of these engines,, you CAN use the stock mount. it is the same configuration as the rb, it's just not as good of material as the good rb mount. may break sooner.

just a qwick tip. if your wanting to go to 17mm hubs dont buy the 20+ dollar a pair ofna's the 17mm's for a savage work great. those and the nuts to work with the revo will only set you back about 6-7 buck for all 4!

RE: Integy Titanium
I agree with alot of you on here about this whole "integy crap" thing, i get realy tired of hearing about it. i have a set of there steel axles on my tmaxx,, they've been great, no problems what so every, i have had problems in the past with there shocks leaking, and one of the guys from my track just recenlty bought a brand new set with problems right out of the box, they seem to be binding for whatever reason,, anyway. I Am on vacation in MO. right now, hitting some tracks around here with my race revo, i broke a mount, went into the local shop here and talked to a guy that seemed like he knew what was up, asked him if he had any integy mounts (to replace the crappy stock broken traxxas side supports, and he laughed in my face, and went on about how "integy is garbage i wouldnt ever use anything from them on my truck " i just wanted to choke the guy.. i didnt ask for his "what i hate today" story, i simple asked for a part, but all he could do was flame them. way to run a shop! anyway,, new "crappy traxxas" mount due in tomorrow,, hopefully ill get to hit the track.

RE: Close ratio top shaft gears?
ok 1st,, the topshaft gears are the ones in the tranny attached to the same shaft that the spur gear attaches to. the close ratio is the shorten the difference between 1st and 2nd gear (good for racing) because it drops the overall top speed, but adds usable power and speed, and keeps the truck more stable and not "slamming" into 2nd. the difference in spurs are just as you listed them,, steel is steel, stock is stock. 36 is more top end, less accel and 40 is more accel and less top end.

RE: New traxxas top fuel power plus!! Who is going to try some?
i wont be trying it,, they lost me many years ago when i ran there regular 20%. still running trinity monster 20% great stuff, i will most likly be getting a couple cases more of it and also of o'donnells when i travel to MO. next month. fuel is over $10.00 a gallon cheaper there, and ill be there anyway lol

RE: Race Ready Revo
as far as bodys, if you liek the new e-revo body (which i agree it looks sick) take a look at the proline crowd pleazer 2.0 . i have one,, there kinda the same design as the e-revo, but made for the revo, even has the fuel cutouts and all. and best of all it's a proline, which is far stronger and holds up much better then a traxxas body.

RE: How do I know when to replace!???
the exchange program is a waste of money, and giving away your old 2.5. you can get a new 3.3 on ebay for $95-130 as it is. keep your 2.5 and just get a new 3.3 if thats what you want. or you could rebuild the 2.5 if you wanted ($40-$55) bye what your describing it is time for a rebuild. shutting down, and then after cooling off restarting is a tell tail sign. no one has mentioned the BEST way to clean your r/c and that being with denatured alcohol, just put it in a spray bottle spray EVERYTHING down good and blas it all off with compressed air. i've been doing it for years. also, if you got alot of dirt and even mud,, mix 1/3 simple green, with 2/3's denatured alcy. and blow off. isaac

reason there breaking is that the slipper clutch needs to be loosened a bit. steel is a good idea if you want to upgrade, and not have to worry about them again.
