RE: Increasing Traxxas' VXL ESC 3S Cell Limit?
I agree, the photo does look a little fishy.lol Maybe you should post some video's to put our skepticism to rest. And I personally don't see anyone "crushing" that 108mph with this 1/16 chasis. I don't have the ralley but I d have a slash and when it reaches like 70mph it's a handfull and tends to want to flip. I'm sure the ralley has more downforce and better earodynamics but stil. 108mph is pretty dang fast for a mini! I'd love to see you prove me wrong though with some real video footage.

RE: Increasing Traxxas' VXL ESC 3S Cell Limit?
I didn't read this entire thread so idk if this has ben answered but all u have to do I believe is shut off the lipo cutoff unless it just won't run on 6s period. That's what I do to run 4s. The only thing is not to run ur packs to low since there won't be a cutoff. I'm fairly certain you'll break or fry something long before u run out of battery on 6s though.lol

RE: Neu 1110 VS Velineon 380 Motor
ORIGINAL: Go-Zilla
ORIGINAL: EricTyrrell It's used primarily for racing.
Neu is known for its efficiency, meaning it can run long enough without being overheating. I don't have a Neu, but I have a Medusa BL, comparing to those other mini BL motors out there, this type of BL motors really give out a great power but don't heat up as bad as others. You can just do a search on Google about Neu BL and you can see lots of references & spec details. But for racing, you might want to double check with your track. Some tracks have requirements for racing specs.
Wich Medusa do u have? Is it a direct drop in or is a bigblock motor mount needed? What esc and how many cells u running? And how do you like it? I am looking at putting a more powerfull motor in my mini vxl slash. I have an origional mamba max 1/10 esc and a castle cm36 5700kv motor in another car right now but may use that esc for my slash. I don't think I the 1/16 needs the 540 motor though and I don't really want the extra weight of a big block to make it even more top heavy either so I'm looking for a smaller alternative with more capabilities. The medusa is only like $10 cheaper then the Neu from what I can tell though so I'm wondering how they compare? Have you ran it against a neu?

RE: 1/16 e revo vxl diff durablity?
Have u taken the wheels off and inspected them lately? 2 of the 3 that were cracked weren't completely broken apart yet. If there's excess slop in the wheels I'd check because it is definately a weak point. The rpm ones are lighter, stronger, and actually have screws holding the pivot ball caps on. I talked to traxxas support today and they are sending me the updated bulkheads for free. Not sure what u mean by r&p but if ur talking about the bulkheads yes they fixed the problem on the new ones. They added a screw that crosses the 2 halfes and hods them tighter eliminating some of the slop that the old ones have. the part numbers are the same but there's an x at the end. That's how u can tell if u have the new ones or the old ones. If u have the 2.4ghz vxl merve u probably already have the new ones but I don't think the slashes have them until they release the 2.4ghz version of those. I have the vxl slash and I got the old ones.

RE: 1/16 e revo vxl diff durablity?
I got a mini slash I've ben running on 3s for about a month and it runs fine but it might be clicking a little. Idk if this is just in my head after reading about the problems and the new updated diffs or if they are really going bad. Either way I'm gonna see if traxxas will send me a a set of the new ones and if not I'll buy a set for when min give out. I have heard shimming the difs is suppose to help. Is this required on the new ones too? Can anybody show pics or a link on how to do this? I know how to drive a high powered rc and don't beat on mine but I have noticed 1 other weak spot and that is the axle carriers. The stupid littl clip in ball caps are crap. I broke 3 out of the 4 in a single quadruple rollover. I upgraded to the rpm ones and that took care of that. I've also read that the t-bone is suppose to strengthen the chasis so I'll be getting one of those.

RE: Batman's Tumbler
Even if u can get a motor in that thing it looks like the front wheels are fixed and I don't see how u could get them to turn? I think you'd be better off finding a actual rc version and maybe upgrading the motor and what not. I think you'll just need more to start with on this build. Or maybe find a decent hobbygrade rc and retro fit a batman body from something else on it. Or if your really creative make your own body. I just don't see how that one you've picked out can be done.

RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
ok cool. I just got my vxl slash in the mail on Wed along with 2 3s lipo's and I have to say this thing is a blast! I love it. I was a little worried about it sucking after reading all the posts on here of people complaining about how unstable it is but with a little dual rate adjustment to turn down stearing sensitivity on my new futaba 3PL radio it's awesome. Sure if you crank the wheel when ur wide open it's going to flip but you have to take into consideration that this thing is doing like 960 mph scaled down at wide open throttle on 3s or 12 ni/mh cells. I have no problems keeping it shiny side up. Now my question is will the esc handle the 2-2s lipo's I ordered running in series as 4s? It handles 3s with the stock gearing easily without anything getting barely warm. And I know it handles 2 ni/mh packs so I'm thinking it should be ok? Anybody else running 4s?

RE: OFFICIAL 1/16 VXL Slash thread.
ORIGINAL: Foam Crazy ... and here is one more set of images. these just arrived. the wheels and tires are HPI nitro off-road types with matching 12mm hex mount parts. as you can see, the wheels are diameter sized somewhere in between the slash and erevo wheels dimensions and the width too is somewhere in between. i haven't glued them in yet, as they are a pretty tight fit. i'm going to run them unglued and see if that might work okay for bashing. the grey wheel is also the same type of wheels and only different in the way it looks. Cool, I like the way those black wheels look and the lifted body actually does look pretty good also with those big wheels.I however am going in the other direction. I want to tighten up my suspension and lower it a bit. Do they make road tires for those wheels though? I really like the size and look of them and want a pair with some low profile tires. Also I read that u put the 3pm in yours. How did the reciever fit? I just ordered a 3pl and am hoping I can get the reciever in the rx box so I don't have to get rid of it and use a baloon. I can't find the specs for the origional rx or the rx box anywhere? My radio is suppose to be in the mail today but I just can't wait to see if it will fit.lol i'm using the wheel wideners on this setup. gonna run em tomorrow and will let you guys know how it works... RE: Best sport level 2.4 3 challen radio?
I was looking for a dx3 on ebay and everywhere else but had no luck finding any in that price range so I ended up getting the 3pl. I don't do any crawling or anything so I wasn't worried about those extra 4 wheel features. I rally like the looks of the spektrum dx3s and r's but as much as I run my trucks/boats I couldn't see dropping 250 on a radio. I hope I'm happy with it. It was between that and the Mx3 sport. I got the 3pl from tower for $80 after my $20 off coupon code plus shipping so I thought that was a great deal. The extra recievers are like $50 wich is a little steep considering I need like 8 of them but maybe I'll be able to find an alternative one that works or pick up some used ones over time.

Best sport level 2.4 3 challen radio?
I'm switching to 2.4 ghz and want a radio I can use in all my cars and boats. I don't want to spend a lot so probably just one of the entry level ones with like a 10 modal memory and 3 channels. I like the looks of the spektrum radio's but the cheapest one i've seen with model memory is like 200. So airtronics or futaba I'm thinking? Anyone got a used system I can buy? I put this in the car section because I doubt many people read the radio section cuz I know I don't.

RE: Which battery for Mini Summit/Revo/Slash
I also ordered a mini vxl slash wich is suppose to be on my front steps on wednesday. I ordered 2 of these also http://www.rcplanet.com/Venom_LiPo_3S_1P_11.1V_1300mAh_p/VNR15024.htm to run in seriesl. I wasn't sure if 2-2s packs in paralel would be to much for the stock esc and motor or not? I know they can handle 2-7.2volt ni/mh but I wasn't sure about 2-2s 7.4 volt lipo's in paralel since the discharge rate is so much higher? Does anybody have any experience with this? What's the best way to get the most speed out of them? Can I run 14.8 volts worth of lipo power? And will the 2-3s packs i ordered pack more punch ran series then 2 of the 6 cell ni/mh packs like the ones that come with it in paralel?

Mustly for the extra size and ground clearance but I like the look of these better. I haven't got it yet but I do have a mamba 25 with an 8000kv motor that's in a mini-t right now and a mamba max 1/10th scale version with a 5700kv motor in a rustler right now. Well I ordered a new mini slash vxl and 2 3s lipo's last night from rcplanet. Got all that for $278.00 shipped. That's the cheapest I could find it. The truck was only like 235 or something. So now I just need a real 2.4 ghz radio. I need one anyways for all my other cars and boats so I want a 3 channel with like a 10 model memory. Anyone else having problems with the market place on here not working or is it just my computer? It won't commect to the classifieds? I want to sell the stock radio, maybe my blade mcx some other stuff or trade it for a decent 2.4ghz tx/rx combo.

Well I still haven't got anything because I can't make up my mind. I'm actually thinking about a mini slash now because I know traxxas is buit to beat on and I like that u can put 2 battery packs in it and even a 550 motor with an aftermarket mount. I think it'd be fun to strap my mamba Max system on it and see what it'd do. The only thing that has my on the fense I think is that it comes with a stupid am radio. The mini revo comes with the 2.4 so why the hell doesn't the slash? Traxxas really needs to get on the BND band wagon. I'd love to be able t get it with no radio or at least a traxxas 2.4. I have so many danm tq am radio's laying around it's rediculous.lol I've heard lots of bad things about the belt drive in the sc18. I've heard they won't roll in nuetral cuz they're so tight and that they get dirt in the tranny's to easily. I want something I can run in the sand and not worry about binding up or breaking a belt. And I love to jump and the sc18 is so low it seems like it'd bottom out super bad. I like the looks of the sc18 way better then the cheasy traxxas graphix but I can always paint my own body.

I popped off the gear cover to find the brand new pinion allmost completely warn out and the spur pretty well shot also. The mesh was right and the slipper wasn't excessivly tight? RE: Mini-T Brushless upgrades
I think this is just a preferance thing. Mini's have limited space so it's harder to squeeze a 3s lipo in them. Therefor I run an 8000kv mamba system. This way I can run 2s instead of 3s. And I'm looking for a 3s that will fit for when I want it to be ballistic. But actually my 8000 doesn't get the slightest bit hot on 2s and I've never timed it but I get pretty decent runtimes. I'm not sure what size the lipo I'm running is since the label's worn off but I've ran it for at least 20 min and never tripped the low volt cut-off. I'm a speed freak though and if your like me I'd reccommend the higher kv motors. But like I said I think it's just preferance and what u expect from it.

So the 55 is better then the stock baja servo? And does it fasten right in just like the stock one? If I remember right the 55 only has 1 hole in each side so those little pegs that hold the stock one in place I'm guessing aren't going to work? I currently have an e-flight one in there and I just put servo tape on one side and then screwed the servo cover thing on and it pinches it in place. Is that what I'll have to do with the 55?

What's the best 3-wire servo for the mini-t? I don't really want to have to cut up the frame at the weakest point so I'd like one that doesn't require any cutting or shaving. I also read that a micro blubird will fit but I've never even seen one of those so idk. I just picked up the only micro servo my lhs had witch happened to be a little blue e-flight I'm not even sure that the model number was and then I had to use sand paper to make the output shaft like hex shaped to fit the servosaver. Then it didn't mount perfect so I just put servo tape on it and then used the servo brace to pinch it tight to secure it. I think with a little imagination any micro and even most submicro servo's will work.
