RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
I have yet to break anything on My Redcat 1/10 scale cars. I bought 2 of 1/10 and one of the Hurricanes and all have been pretty good. Mainly bought for the kids to learn on but I really like the 1/8 scale and the 1/10's so far so good. Kinda of agree on the radio. Its OK but could be better but I think for the price of the total package its not too bad. I would not recommend the radio for racing but for all around fun driving mine work perfectly. I see some posts about constant breaking on these things and I have a Traxxas and HPI and I break them pretty easy. I don't thinnk the plastic on the parts is any less than the major brands but I do agree that running them in too cold of a temp can cause a more brittle and easily breakable part. My Traxxas and HPI I broke within a few days of using doing normal things and on the 1/8 Redcat I did break a small suspsension part but that was due to the speed I was running it at and my stupidity to hand the controller over to a friend. By the way dont let friends drive.... I did some research on Redcat and Himoto to see if I could learn anything. Redcat seems to be a manufacturer of mainly ATV's and Cycles and just got into RC. They claim to have over 500 dealers in the U.S. for ATV's and they sound solid but am unsure. Redcatmotors.com and redcatracing.com have the same physical address in Phoenix. Himoto looks to be located in China and ships direct from there, they also seem like they have been doing this for a while and seem solid but again am unsure. From what I can tell they buy from the same factory and simply market them under different names. Overall for the money I was rather impressed with the cars I purchased, but with only about 10 hours on them I surely will keep everyone updated on this thread. [&:]
