Ok, thank you for your answers. I'll by a new pair of suspension arms at my LHS today and replace them. I also got the aluminum suspension mounts and blocks. Also got the steel suspension balls. So the suspension will get hoped up today :)

I crashed my Baldre today, and broke the front lower suspension arm. Are there any aluminium hop ups for this suspension arm instead of the standard plastic one. This must be a weak point on the DB-01 chassis.

I bought the Tamiya Super Stock BZ. The description says that it should be used withing 9:1 to 11:1 gear ratio. What does that mean? What pinion gear should I choose?

Using Tamiya TEU-101BK and futaba R603FS
I got a Tamiya TT-01D drifting car which comes with a TEU-101BK ESC. I also got a Futaba 3PM 2,4 ghz with a R603FS receiver. I'm not quite sure how to make these two work together. It says in the specs that the ESC delivers 7.2 volts to the receiver. Will the R603FS handles that? Or is 6Volt max? The power cable from the ESC has two pins (red and black), but the connector on the receiver has three pins. How to I place the power cable?

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
I got a Tamiya Mazda RX7 (TT-01D based) car with a TEU-101BK ESC (included in the kit). I also have a Futaba 3PM 2,4 ghz with a R603FS receiver. I'm not able to get receiver to work with this ESC. Do I need a separate batterypack for the receiver? I see that there is a "receiver battery connector" on the ESC, but this is a two pin connector. The battery connector on the receiver is 3-pin. I also have a DB-01 car with a M-Tronics Eco 20 ESC. This one works with the receiver without trouble. The only thing connected to the ESC in this case is the seering servo and the connector to the ESC. No external powersource? Can anybody help me with this?
ORIGINAL: dimblum The 3Racing parts are typically better than the Yeah Racing parts.. 3Racing makes most of their parts from billet aluminum (stronger) whereas Yeah Racing will make many of their parts from cast aluminum (weaker). The original Tamiya parts are the most expensive, but they are they best quality of the bunch.. In the case of the suspension mounts, the 3Racing parts are equally good to the Tamiya parts.. I would go with the 3Racing parts if you want to save a little cash. Hope this helps. Dan
Ok, Thanks. I think I'll go for the 3Racing parts then.

RE: Official DB-01 Durga Thread
ORIGINAL: dimblum Norseman, Tamiya made aluminum hop-up parts for the front and rear suspension mounts which almost become necessary to prevent breakage from hard head on collisions.. They also made a little known hop-up for the suspension balls that slide onto the rods (florine coated steel balls).. The suspension balls are not normally listed as a DB-01 part except on Tamiya's own website.. I have been using them for the past year and have no complaints, they should never really wear on break. Hope this helps. Are these products any good? I see that they also have some from 3 racing.

Finished building my Baldre today, and took it out for a spin. I'm really impressed with the way this cars handles. I think I will upgrade the motor from the standard, though. I ran into one problem: the corner of my house. I hit it so hard, and at such an bad angle, so the lover suspension arm was hit out of position. The little plastic ball on the end of the metal rod that holds the suspension arm broke. Are there any aluminium replacement parts for the suspension arms and the mounts? I will also need to replace those small plastic "balls" that is on the en of the rod.

Ok. Thanks for your reply. I will try to disassemble it again to check it. When I try to move the diff (using the belt) with the cover off, it runs really smooth. Should it run just as smooth with the cover on?

RE: Official DB-01 Durga Thread
I have just started building my Baldre car, and ran into a little problem. I installed the rear belt cover over the diff/belt, and tightened the screws. Then I discovered that the belt didn't move freely. I disassembled it again, and the everything moved smoothly. Tried to installe the rear belt cover again, but didn't tighten the screws so much. This time the belt runs ok. Any body else experienced this? Any solutions? Should I just leave the cover as it is (that means not totally tightened)?

RE: Tamiya synthetic rubber cement
OK. Thanks for the feedback, guys. The clue that Larryf333 found on the clas ohlson website is contact cement. Normaly one apply glue on both surfaces, wait a bit and then join the two pieces. It bonds immediately. And by the way... I will maike sure to read the durga thread before I start building this car.

RE: What RC buggy to buy?
I'm sorry to bother you guys once again. I've decided to go for the Durga or the Baldre. I have decided to run it "as it is" at first, and then buy some upgrades when I get more experience. The question now is: - What radio system should I buy? It doesn't have to be the best, but it must be good. - What ESC should I buy? At first I will run with the included 540 engine, but will probably upgrade this after a while. The local Tamiya store is pretty expencive, so I will buy this car on the net. Can you reccommend a shop?

RE: What RC buggy to buy?
ORIGINAL: Barber420
ORIGINAL: Jeremy Z Have you considered any other buggies besides Tamiya? Are you only looking to buy Tamiya? I would recommend an Associated B4 RS to you for a buggy. The Factory Team version of the buggy is great, but the parts are less durable and easier to brake. The FT version is really only needed if you're a hard core racer, which it doesn't appear you are. The B4RS is an RTR, which is a bummer, but it's a very capable and pretty tough little machine. They handle, jump, and drive very well. You could buy the RTR, ebay the radio that comes with it, and hop it up some for way under your $600 budget!!!![:D]
I want a 4WD. The Team Associated B4 RS is a 2WD, isn't it? I do not want a RTR model. Building it is part of the fun for me. :)

Thanks for your answer. I believe that I will follow your suggestions. I will buy a new radio, because I want a pistol grip transmitter. Not quite sure about the differences between AM, FM and spectrum. I've been looking at Futaba 3PM. Any advice on what kind of transmitter/receiver to buy? Another question is the difference between the DB01 and the DF03 chassis. Is one better than the other? To me it looks like the Balder and the Durga is built on DB01, and Avante and Dark Impact is built on DF03. Correct? Sorry for the stupid answers, but it is a jungle out there, and I'm kind of lost :)

What RC buggy to buy?
After 20 years out of the RC hobby, I now want to buy a new 1/10 electro buggy. The one I got now is a Tamiya Thundershot. But it has seen better days, so I just thought that I should buy everything new. So what rc car should I buy? I drive these things purely for fun, but I'm considering joining a local club and participate in some races. I have been looking at the Tamiya Baldre. I don't know how much I need to spend to get a good car/radio/engine kit, but I guess $400-$600 for the package should give me a good car. Looking for advices on what car, radio system, engine, speed controller and batteries I should buy. I'm kind of new to this, so it would be great if you tell me the reason for your suggestions. Thanks in advance!
