RE: ca glue
I did my first set of tires not to long ago and because thin CA is so thin I used some tips for the bottle from my flying stuff to keep the amount down that I put in there. Here is a link to the tips so you can see what I am talking about. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXK295&P=7 Chris

Tekno RC Adjustable Wheelbase Revo Rear A-Arm
I was putting together a list of stuff and looking up some thing on here and have not realy found a answer to my question in the search of the forums on here. I was looking into getting Tekno RC Adjustable Wheelbase Revo Rear A-Arm but could not find out the pros and cons of useing this. My thoughts are by extending the chassy this should help with some jumps and traction but could hinder my cornering with my Revo 3.3. If you all could give me some like and dislikes Id appreciate. Thank You In Advance Chris

Looking for answeres on P-3 Rockers??
Hello Everyone I did the normal search for threads on here and I have usually done well with these but eather most people are not useing them or I am not putting in the right answer in for my question. I am setting up my revo for a small track and was trying to figure out if the P-3 rockers would work better for me or to just use the P-2 rockers. This is a realy small track at my local hobby shop they do not do refueling dureing the races and do not have large jumps the biggest jump might get you 3 feet of air and it is for the most part smooth hard packed sandy soil with a light dusting of sand that gets more built up as the race day goes on. My question is instead of doing the normal change springs and shock oil and some other stuff that I have found other people do could I start with the P-3 rockers and save a little buy useing them for a track of this type? If some of you have tried these Id love to have some feedback on the likes and dislikes of these rockers. Thank You In Advance Chris

RE: Mounting New Tires
Thank You I wondered about the roundness of the tires but they look good around the edges but I have done some more work on them before I do any glueing and have found the center of the rubber to be a little softer like mabe the foam is pushed down and not in good contact with it so mabe I should do some trimming. I just want to make sure I do this right hate to ruin a good set of tires. Thank You Again Chris

Mounting New Tires
Hello Everyone I got my revo the other day and have decided on some new tires and rims. I purchased panther switch 2.0 and pro-line wide offset max velocity rims for it. I did do a search for mounting tires on here but had a question about the foam insert for the tires? I found that most talked about shaveing some of the edges off the foam but I have been able to mount mine without doing so (not glued yet though) and seem to fit realy nice. Id like some of the knowledge from everyone here about not cutting the foam. Thank You Chris

LoL No Sir Mr Plude I found your site when reading this thread early on and have found a wealth of knowledge on that site for upgrades and stuff. If I didn't directly mention anyones names I defiantly mean no harm by not doing so I really do appreciate everyones answers I got from the one liners to those who have taken the time out of there hectic schedules to write back to me directly or indirectly has been most appreciated. I probably am in one of the most priciest hobbies and having started a new job this year after my old one was bought out and movedto another state and having a family and a young child I can not afford to do a lot experimenting with things so this web site and its great people have saved me countless dollars and headaches with which I really appreciate. RE: Anyone Own a Revo 3.3?
Thank You To Everyone Wow I have been at work doing some 12 hour shifts and wish I could have gotten back sooner. I am appreciative to everyone for taking the time to answer my questions and concerns on everything. Thanks for the link Seldomseen looks like I will be a while doing some more reading but from what I have allready looked at there is some great resources at that link so it will be well worth it. Thanks you Budweiser for the link and reminding me the motor mount being somewhat of a area to watch out for I had read where some others had experienced some issues there too and forgot about it. I am going to do some more reading and going down to my LHS track this weekend to look around and maybe see if anyone is practicing so I can get a little more information about what works best on the local track. Again Thanks To Everyone Chris

RE: Anyone Own a Revo 3.3?
Hello Everyone Id like to say after days of being glued to this seat reading every page of this thread my lord there is some information here. To give you some background on myself I started flying rc aircraft almost a year ago and thats everything from 40 size to some self taught small heli stuff so I'm not so new to the similarities of this hobby but having said that I realize there is still some stuff that wont translate over to trucks from aircraft. I am considering getting the revo for my first gas powered rc truck my local hobby shop has races all summer long and though I am not giving up flying I still have a yearning for racing from my slot car days. So I was hoping some of you would be so kind as to answer some questions I might have. First one of my concerns is I have read where the 3.3 either has to be rebuilt or replaced somewhere around the 3 gallon mark now just out of curiosity how long will it take to get to the 3 gallons in these trucks and how many of you if any are well past this mark without problems? One thing I haven't seen is the need for most of you to replace things other than some recommended stuff like a arms and rubber boots and maybe a pipe and springs for just a few things here and there. How is the rest of the truck like the bearings and things what is the life expectancy of the other hardware on the truck. One last questions is about the radio gear now I use JR stuff in my planes and the one and only RTF I had was my first heli and the radio left a lot to be desired. Is the radio gear in this thing going to be the same way or can I use it for a while even in races till I feel the need to upgrade for a more competitive racing feel? I know racing is a lost cause for this year but my 3 year old loves things that go fast and makes noise whether it is trucks or planes and Id like to spend the end of this year and beginning of next year ramping up for the racing season around the yard and at the track at the hobby shop so I know he would love to watch the truck for now. Thank You In Advance Chris

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D
The twist was my second plane and was worried about the week fuse area and it was explained like this to me by a long time flyer at our field. He said these planes are made to fly and be light so he said fly it till I had a problem with the fuse then fix it. I am happy to say that has been a long time since I got this plane and no problems yet. Now I am very careful on landings and have used the twist for more funflys than 3D but she has been a faithful flying plane for a long while now and other than putting a sullivan tail wheel on it instead of the stock one she has been perfect and stock. Congrats on the maiden. I have the OS 46 AX on my twist and use the 12 x 4 because the lhs I go to didnt have the 12.25 x 3.75 but eather will help slow the twist down very nice and I still had unlimited vertical. Just now getting brave enough to start the 3d stuff had used the twist for fun flys mostly. Chris

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER
Mike The 1.20 motor from what I have found turns a less RPM than the 1.08 but has the same horsepower and seems to make somewhere around 13 to 15 pounds of thrust depending on prop used. If you are into reading there are a couple of links below that might interest you. Chris There is a discussion on the 1.20 motor here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3402107/mpage_1/key_120/tm.htm There is a review of the 1.20 here that might interest you. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=478975

RE: Carl Goldberg -- PITTS S12 MONSTER
Hello Everyone I have wanted one of these planes since late last year but because of job change and things money was tight but got a great deal from tower on this plane yesterday. They had it at $339 with $30 dollars off and I have free shipping being that I am a club member so I got it for $309 to the door but will be a while before I can get everything rounded up for it but needed to know something. I have read this thread from the start but did not see where anyone was using a O.S. 120 AX motor for this plane. Was wondering if this motor would compare to the 1.08 that some of you are using since the 1.08 is not in production anymore was wondering if the 120 was the next logical replacement motor for this plane without going to the O.S. 160 or a 4 stroke and still have enough power for basic arobatics. Also will that motor still fit inside the cowl without having to cut out for the head when mounted horizontally. Thanks In Advance Chris

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D
As far as the twist being somewhat week in some areas and being new to flying well so new this was my second plane I had a flier at the field I go too say this to me. These planes are meant to be good flyer's not good crashers so fly it till it breaks and if it doesn't don't worry about it. So that being said I haven't had any problems with the twists week spot yet but I'm very cautious on landings. Good luck with whatever you pick. Chris

RE: hanger 9 alpha trainer arf problems
I have the alpha 40 arf and the rtf the rtf does not use glue to join the two wing half's together in the instructions but the arf does however that being said it is a good idea to use some 30 minute epoxy on them but i also use 12 rubber bands when flying not the suggested 8 that is called for in the manual. Ive heard of the wings trying to depart from the plane in windy days with the only 8 rubber bands. Chris

Thank You ramcfarland and Peter_OZ for answering my question I was wondering about that. But got to love this thread and the covering job for use new people its a learning experience without having to learn the mistakes the hard way. I still haven't made my mind up as to try and build my p-47 or to buy one like from CM Pro it makes me somewhat nervous because I haven't built any planes as of yet but I have a degree in auto body witch I think would help in the painting and finishing of a plane. Just a small question being somewhat new to things. Does the flight metal have any effect on the radio receiver antenna to the point it has to be ran outside the plane or can it be like my twist and ran down the inside to the end of the plane and out a small whole in the back. Thank You Josh I wondered if the JR Sport line was any good still being new to the market Ill have too look into them maybe. We were having this discussion at the field yesterday too and someone else suggested maybe using something more around 50oz at the 4.8 v and just using a 6 v battery to boost the throw and speed just being somewhat not knowing all the ends and outs of servos yet thought id pose this question to everyone here. I know i want to stay with JR servos just thought I might be able to use something a little more cost effective for the wallet. Chris
